My 5.5 year old is between (5 & 6) sizes in most things right now. I ended up with the XS (6/7) for him. It’s a little big but not bad and maybe it’ll fit him next year! Haven’t had a chance to wear the coat yet, but it has a nice fit, not too bulky at all, and a cool color with the orange accent, and seems like it’ll be pretty warm. We’ve had lots of Columbia coats over the years and have never had a problem with being cold, even in the bitter, windy Chicago winters.

The zipper on my son's puffier coat broke and I purchased this for him as a replacement. He told me that it kept him just as warm despite being amazingly Packable, perfect for our recent trip to the mountains of Colorado.

My kids love a hooded jacket for winter! These Columbia jackets are great. We were looking for zippered hand pockets, so that gloves and mittens don't fall out. The description for this jacket said "zippered pockets," but no such luck! If you are looking for zippers, too, don't be fooled!

Jacket fits and looks great - perfect for an active 8 year old to get through a winter that is more mild than cold. Has plenty of space to layer up if it's really cold, which for a mid-atlantic climate, works far better than buying a thicker coat. The only downside is the inner lining is a plasticky material that all my kids complain about if they aren't wearing long sleeves.

The description states the coat has "Zippered hand pockets add warmth and utility..." The pockets are NOT zippered which was a quality I was in searching for. This is the second Columbia coat I have purchased that described the coat as having zippered pockets and it does not. The first one was purchased from another company and was returned. I thought maybe purchasing from the manufacturing company would help. Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed.

My son loves these jackets because they are warm but not bulky. It's the only jacket he will wear.

I keep buying this jacket for my kids, it is warm, and yet not bulky. We use it for everyday life, going to school, going to ski on spring break. I typically buy two jackets at a time (current size and next size).

So far a great jacket. Bought it in a bigger size for my 3 1/2 year old to wear next fall/winter.

I bought this jacket for my son. He is 7 y.o. And size XS fits very well. He is tiny though. He likes it very much. Jacket is very light soft and warm. Columbia never disappointed us. Best choice.

Bought this for our 5 yr old, the fit was spot on, and the quality is what one would expect from Columbia. He still rides in a car seat so the low profile (not a super puffy jacket) is appreciated when strapping him in his car seat. That's what I loved most about this jacket.

My son isn't big on bulky jackets, but we need him to be warm! So this jacket is PERFECT! Great quality!

These boys powder lite jackets are the best! Both my grandsons love them. They fit well, are lightweight and wash well. Don't ever stop making them!!

A great lightweight warm layer for chilly days. My son loves these because they allow for plenty of movement while wearing.

Great quality and price; ordered a large for my 11 year old and returned for an xl. We could have kept the large but would have only gotten one winter out of it.

Very warm! My kid loves the colors! Having the hood is nice. We used to get the Powder Lite jackets without the hoods, but with the hood there is the added warmth.
