These bottoms are nice and warm, soft and comfortable feeling against the skin, however I really do not like the cut. I would really prefer them to be mid-waist or high-waisted, especially for snowboarding so I'm not having to constantly pull them up. They are also extremely long, which is particularly annoying and extremely uncomfortable when there is extra fabric at the ankles when in snowboard boots. I really wish Smartwool would make high waisted bottoms and if they came in short length that would be excellent. While they are nice quality, they could definitely be improved with just these two things!

I wear Smartwool base pants in camp and at night backpacking in colder weather including long trips in the Sierras. Not fond of having a seam in my crotch so sadly I usually buy the men's (still Smartwool brand) which of course are boring colors and not so flattering. I picked up a teal pair of the women's last year because they were such a pretty color and on sale, but still, no gusset in the crotch. Bummer: I don't know why any maker of women's active pants would not gusset them. Especially at this price point.

I went to an outdoor festival in February where the weather was 32 degrees. These kept me completely warm for the 8 hours I was there. Never did I feel cold. The wool is soft and not irritating to my skin. I loved the color too.

It's been a frigid winter in the northeast, and these pants have been keeping me warm. I layer them under trousers, jeans, or sweats, and they always keep me warm. If you live in a cold area or are heading to the cold, these are a must have item.

I've only worn my leggings a time or two so far, but they are incredibly comfortable and they've kept me very warm walking outside even when it was snowing. I worried when I bought them that they might be too short, but they actually go all the way down to my ankle bones, which is so nice! Very soft, and they don't compress like other leggings tend to do, so I could wear these for days on end.

Slightly itchy since it's merino, but only when I concentrate on it. Great colour. I felt "lumpy" in size S at my current weight and more confident in size M, which should still fit (even if a bit baggy) if I do lose 10lbs. Don't expect it to fit like work-out pants - material does mean it is naturally a bit "baggier". I do wish it had a "control top" for self-esteem reasons but since I am usually wearing under ski pants this is less of a concern.

The leggings fit nicely under jeans for daytime use. They are also very comfy as pajama bottoms.

I wear these as an extra layer and also for lounging around the house. They are so soft and comfortable I hate to take them off.

Pants feel very soft and warm. I will have to exchange to smaller size since I prefer tighter fit.

These thermal base layer bottoms are fantastic. As someone who is always cold, I'm always on the lookout for warm, soft layers. This fulfills that requirement to a T! I have eczema so soft is important. There are a lot of woolen things that are too scratchy, but this is perfectly soft against my skin. It is warm enough for me to stand outside each day in the cold weather while dismissing kids (teacher life).

I have switched all my base layer, socks and glove liners to smartwool. By far the best I've used.

Worn for indoor lounging as well as for my daily hike: This is my first pair of Smartwool thermals. I purchased these along with one orher pair plus tops to mix and match. After trying out for several days, I ordered a pair of All season bottoms for when the temps are not as cool.

Feels great! I haven't put it to the test in cold weather yet, but it seems like an excellent base layer.

Design is very cute and fit well. They don't stretch out after use which I really appreciate. I'm 5'4"/130 and the small is a perfect fit!

I use them for my travels. These are my favorite thermals (top an bottom). I like them over other brands as it's buttery soft, fits without the bulge under jeans. withstands a bit of breeze better than other brands, and easier to launder than alpaca (which I do love).
