I wear these every day in the winter. Now they changed the waistband and they fall down

I use this as a base layer for alpine skiing. It is comfortable and washes well.

I love these pants! So warm and soft and comfy! Wish they weren't so expensive because I would buy more. You definitely get what you pay for.

I am a little disappointed that these are not more substantial. They get baggy in the knees pretty quickly. I would definitely not try to wear these as leggings. I'd say they are a little on the light side in terms of warmth.

One of my indispensable go-to garments in the winter, as a base layer for outdoor sports, pajamas in the tent, or lounging around the house. My oldest pair dates back to 2009 and has held up really well, although the fabric is finally thinning. One of the greatest things about these is that they don't get too uncomfortable in case it's warmer than expected. Also, the waistband is mercifully not too tight, yet keeps its elasticity. I think they like to not go in the dryer, although they tolerate it if need be.

I love the fit, and the Merino wool makes the layer warm without bulk.

My mom and I have been wearing these as both a base layer and as PJ bottoms for almost a decade. Despite the site photos, direct comparison shows the fit hasn't changed a bit (not downsized to skintight on everyone). As size references, I'm 5'11", 130lbs and the medium's the perfect blend of loose & tight and plenty long; the small fits my 5'4", 118lb mother identically. Durable? They wash and wear like iron and only get softer with time.

Wearing them for the 1st time at Christmas, when temps are the lowest I've experienced living in the South. 7 outdoors and my furnace died. These leggings are fantastic! SO warm, not at all scratchy, and are a world of difference in warmth from the silk leggings I've been wearing.

These are the best. It was -35 the other day and these were the only ones that kept my legs warm.

I currently own two... well, three... pairs of these, and am likely to buy more. The first pair I bought a few years back had a different cut and didn't have enough space in the butt for a good fit for me, but the one I bought maybe a year and a half ago and the one I bought a couple of weeks ago fit great. I think the material also has a better ability to maintain its shape throughout the day than the old ones.
I'm very serious about staying warm, and these are critical part of how I do that. I wear them hiking, camping, and backpacking, and during a cold winter like this one, they're just an everyday item for me. They look good on their own, but I typically layer them under jeans for my bike trips into work.
I think my most recent pair might have a slightly different material again -- it seems slightly softer/fuzzier than my others, which is nice, though makes me more concerned about future piling. I've already worn them quite a bit without piling though.
I'm 5'7'' and roughly 140lbs, with most of my weight in my hips and butt. These fit me flattering and don't leave any of my ankle uncovered. I love them.

bought these for my sister in law, she wears them almost around the clock. This is the third pair she owns and swears by them. They can be washed a zillion times, worn constantly and still they are lovely. All of MY smartwools get better with age.

These are soft, comfortable, and just the right weight for layering with pants or skirts. Always, somehow, an appropriate level of warm!

I wish I had returned these thermal bottoms because they've turned out to be too tight for wearing under my pants. I had purchased the size S from a local outdoor shop because they didn't have any XS ones. Those were too big but wearable, but the XS turned out to be uncomfortably tight. I am 5'3" and 100 lbs so I've never had an XS in another brand not work.

This is my first product from Smartwool. I bought a top and bottom together. I was very happy with how well they fit (true to size) and super surprised with how soft and warm the material is! I mean, it's merino wool, so it should be soft, but I've had other merino wool products that just aren't nearly as soft. I'm excited to have this for my next ski adventure!

The material is amazingly soft and comfortable, and warm without making me sweat on the slopes, hence the 4 stars. The waist is a bit big, and I am not a small waisted person. For me, they are mid to almost low rise, and I was worried that they would fall down during my day of snowboarding, but they stayed up, so that was good. I wish that they had TALL sizes. They are about 3 inches too short for me, which is covered by my socks, but not ideal. They would be more comfortable for us talls if they were higher (and slimmer) waist, and longer in the leg.
I am 5'11", 170 lbs, athletic build, and got Large.

Thin enough to go under jeans or pants. Kept me warm all day even in 20 degrees with 30 mph winds while hunting birds
