much warmer than similar thickness jackets made by competitors, but seems to generate a crazy amount of static which isnt fun.

My son loves his new jacket, but he complained that there are thread ends hanging here and there on the outside of the jacket. He went through and cut several off. Not the best finishing work for such a big company and price.

I bought this jacket for cold fall and spring days and it did the trick. A large fit perfect and I am 6'2 and 200lbs. I can wear a base layer zip up underneath making walks/hikes in temps around 0C very light and breathable.
I will say that the marketing is a little off-it's not a viable witner jacket for Ontario during Dec-early March where temps get down to -20C+ windchill. If you wore only this in that weather you'd freeze your tail off in 5 minutes.
Overall its an excellent jacket from temps down to -5C so for what I purchased it for I am very happy with the qualiy and amazing light weight of the jacket.

This is warm compared to it's weight, but it is not as warm as the usual down jacket. Still enough for winter in north west.
I like the colour.
I'd rather walk cause it is very light weight and then packable when I'm in sweat. It is difficult to go back the previous down jacket.

Light, Warm, Thin profile fits good if you're a fit personal not looking for a bulky jacket. I just wish I had more pockets.

I was day hiking in the White Mts. of NH back in January. The summit was -7 with wind at about 30-40 mph. The jacket kept me warm and comfortable... so much so that I unzipped my it to cool down and noticed that the inside was damp. The next time I'm out in similar weather, I'll be aware enough to regulate my temp with the zipper and see if that makes a difference. If not, I'll have to find something that breathes better- hopefully it works because I really like it.

Need to have tall length options like LL BEAN. Great coat but wish there was an XLT option

North Face should have inherent durability. They are expensive to begin with so shoddy construction should not be a concern. Too bad.

i bought the product in Ski site (Telluride, Denver) like 4 years ago, and was very happy with it, just that always the zipper was gripping my the fabric, since the fabric is padded and inflated so it is always being catched by the zipper and it started tearing the fabric... a bit disappointed. i expected better quality from TNF products.

Good overall but stitching isn't great. Also too much stitching pattern makes the surface of jacket rough

Too tight to layer. My old Thermoball was a bit roomier and fit perfectly with a fleece vest. Back it goes.

Too restrictive for comfortable layering. I prefer my old version which I wear over a fleece vest.

I always wear M size. But this one gets tight on M size even their size chart saying M is good for me. Also if they had use elastic on side and armpit, so it would've been stretchy.

Overall this is a nice jacket and looks good and I like the logo being the same color as the jacket, but my NanoPuff is warmer and I find myself wearing it more often

I have other jacket like this and I love it. I use size XL to have a loose fit to it since I am using other layers of clothes. I ordered the exact same jacket, same size - just changed color - and the product is at least 2 inches smaller!!! I compared both jackets and they are way different regarding size! I am returning this one! I am very disappointed.

I am going to return it. I was recommended to buy this by a northface employee as an insert for my 3 in 1 Clement coat. Unfortunately, it does not fit into the coat zippers. This was disappointing because I really wanted a warmer insert, but wanted it to zip into my other coat that I bought this year.

I own last year's Thermoball jacket in navy and wanted the asphalt grey. The sizing this year is cut too slim. I ordered a small, same as last year, but the jacket is not the same cut. I prefer last year's fit.

I'm a big guy 6'5 295 so I know I'm not an average size however the 3X in this jacket fit everywhere except in the shoulders. If I were to reach forward to grab something we would be reinacting a scene from Tommy Boy.
If this jacket is designed to be active in, as is claimed, there should be an adjustment made to the seams on the arms and shoulders to allow for greater freedom of movement.

Have had jacket for one year. I do a lot of driving through the winter and the material has abraded badly around the neck area and across the chest where the seat belt crosses. Improve the material and it's a great jacket. As it looks now it will be worn out after this winter! Too bad because I really like this jacket.

I'm "old-school", this jacket is so light weight it took me several outings in the cold (37-50 deg) before I trusted that it would be sufficiently warm enough. Cold wind tends to blow thru the grommets for the waist cinch cord while your hands are in the pockets. Speaking of pockets they a good, nice and deep. Primary reason for purchase was as liner for other shell jackets. I did not get hoody but wish that I had...Color (Granite) is much better that the picture on the web site...was worried about being to white but its gray enough you don't look like snow bunny. Really looks good for casual wear.
