I have had this coat for three years now, and it's still in great shape. The coat is extremely lightweight and comfortable, but still very warm. I live in the Northeast, so winters can get reasonably cold (0-20 Fahrenheit) and I rarely need more than one light layer under this coat, and definitely not more than a fleece. The streamlined design makes sure I can still move and don't feel too bulky. The coat could benefit from a double zipper--many times I find myself using the buttons and not the zipper so that the bottom is more open--but that is my only complaint, and something that has been updated in many of the newer Arcteryx coats. Still a great purchase that I would highly recommend!

I bought my Magnus 3 years ago. It's.been my everyday jacket from October to March. It's held up extremely well. I've had no problems at all. The shell has shown very little wear, if any. I love the fit. I am definitely not thin and have difficulty with trim fit styles. I appreciate the extra room so I can wear mid-layers, like my Atom LT, when it's gets colder.

I have only had this coat for a few weeks and am already sold on it! I was looking for a coat that I could wear to the office, re in and out of car, and then well really do all of the errands you find yourself doing on weekends. This is perfect! Our Nova Scotia weather is so up and down re Wind, Rain, snow....a mish mash sometimes so Waterproof / Windproof especially are not options...this coat fills the bill. its easy to get in and out of the car without feeling you are bulging everywhere with a big parka and in fact its fits really well. Lots of compliments as well.

I bought this jacket last minute for my trip to NY city when the temp was between 25-35. I was worried it will not keep me warm but i was wrong. I was just wearing and t-shirt and thin sweater with the Magnus coat. It was cold in the evening and very windy but I was feeling nice and comfy. I just have to zip all the way to block the wind. The hoody is rather large and I did not use much except when it rain in the morning. I wished it had more internal pockets for extra phone and wallet. It pack well into a my hand carry luggage to the airport but wrinkles when you remove it. Since I was flying business class back home, I hand carry and get hang in the plane. It was too warm for California use at 45-55F and I was sweating when wearing it in the evening while waiting for Uber.

I have worn this coat for the past week, and the weather hasn't been at all good. It was raining heavily on two occasions on my 10 minute walk into work. It performed excellently and looked smart without being over the top. It was light over my arm, as I travelled on trains and through airports. It is exactly what I had hoped for. Thanks.

I was really impressed with this coat- surprising amount of warmth is retained compared to its lightness. Material is completely waterproof, and does not make a "swishing" sound when you move, which is a huge plus for me! The cut and drape of the coat is exceptional. I wear it with a suit to my Vancouver office job on rainy days. Couldn't have asked for more.

This is a great coat for cold windy cities. It has a trim fit but it is spacey enough to be layered. An internal insulated collar provides additional warmth. It has a nice minimalist look that goes great with everything from casual to formal wear. The only con is that the sleeves are a tad large like those found on ski jackets.

I haven't bought this coat because I want what I want when I want it.... and this coat needs to have a zip out liner and arm vents so I can use it year round. I'd pay more if Arc'teryx would just add these two functions. Why would the best company stop short of perfection?

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! I ordered the XL, though he's a Lg, so there's room for a sports/suit jacket under it. That's a judgement call - he's 6'1", 200 lbs, but has broad shoulders so he needed the extra room. He particularly likes the feel of the Gore-Tex fabric - soft and good drape. I think he looks very handsome in the Pilot color.

Love the overall design, look, and feel of the coat. I wear a medium with most Arc'Teryx products but I was swimming in a medium in this. Had to exchange for a small, which lends to a more slim fit, but still has enough room to layer.

Bought it in the Netherlands, and packed it in a suitcase for the flight home and it got really wrinkly. Fortunately they came out when ironing. Fit is normal, maybe a tiny bit on the large side. I've got fairly wide shoulders, but M fit really good, and perfect if i need another layer underneath for temperatures under -5 C. Surprisingly warm, I'm using it from +15 to -5 without any need for a middle layer. I can't see the need for more pockets since there are 4 pockets already. Very satisfied with the Magnus!

I have been looking for a GTX Arcteryx for a while and most that I tried were just too warm for the mild UK. The Magnus however is perfect, very lightweight but very warm. Nice length and nice details such as soft fleece in the cuff and around the neck area. My only complaint is that there is not a two way zip which in my view is essential for this type and length of jacket.

Excellente veste urbaine utilisable pour les mi saisons. Pas assez chaud pour un usage hivernal, taille grand j'ai pris une taille S pour 1m90 et 75kg. Trs content de mon premier achat chez Arcteryx, sans doute pas le dernier

I initially bought the Therme parka but returned it due to bulky hood. The Magnus is more elegant fit and more versatile compared to the Therme as I can use it already in the autumn, I think you have to get used to the noisy hardshell but this is what you can expect when it's Goretex. The Magnus itself is definately warm enough for most days/nights - this was my biggest concern about this compared to Therme and other down jackets. But I have to say the coreloft is extremely warm, I prefer the layering approach rather than one big winterjacket that can only be worn in the coldest days of the year.

It's an amazing coat, especially like the lack of bulk, waterproofness and weight. I live in Holland and while winter is nearing its end, temperatures have stayed above 0 celcius during day time almost for the entire winter. The coat proofed more than warm enough in these conditions. However wind and rain were heavy at times, which the wind dealt well with. I am certainly happy, but still find it odd that on a coat in this price range there was not chosen for a two-way zipper. I do bike a lot in Holland in town, short distances, but the coat can handle it well. However, a two-way zipper would be great here, just as when you are sitting down. Size M is quite large, bit fits me. I have an athletic build at 186 tall and 76 kg, I could be larger, and still fit into M, but S was restricting me. So add the zipper!

I'm 5'8" chest measures 43" got a medium, and it's massive. I have other mediums from Arcteryx, and they fit snug. I should have gotten a small on this one.

Good jacket for cold fall weather especially for anything above 5 degrees C. Anything colder you'll need a sweater underneath to not feel cold. Slightly baggy build; could be a bit trimmer if you plan to have it for an urban jacket but then again I'm slim. One issue I did find was that there is a cinch cord for the hood but it's located on the inside neck area. It also has a hard plastic almost pointy like end to it which annoys me as it always pokes into my neck/skin which is somewhat annoying and perhaps even a design flaw. They should find a way to change location or have the cinch cord lie flat to the inner shell.
