I like them but not as much as the original base layer. Definitely different feel to them. I bought the medium and they are pretty tight. Will be good for skiing in cold all day but if you have muscular legs they may run tight on you.

I first purchased this as a base layer for running, and it was a bit too tight. If you want a base layer that is skin tight, then this is it! I wanted something slightly more loose, so I returned it and got the classic thermal merino base layer. Still a great product and my wife loves hers!

Gloves are small for M size. Really aren't wind resistant! Nubs on gloves are excellent! Ability to hide mitten is excellent!

I like the material but the elbow design is not smooth enough.

Use it for weightlifting in the garage in winter and running as base layer. Fits well and looks good but snags on very little thing from the smallest velcro to slightly rough knurling. It's only suitable if you wear it underneath other clothes and never expose it to anything but your skin.

Okay so this is a great product, feel nice and keep warm without overheating. I am 6'3 weighing 175, athletic thin build. I went with a large. It fits nicely, not tight or snug but not too large either. Gonna say this would be better if it wasn't so fragile.

I bought these as long under ware for cold places. They work fine but are not as pretty and cozy as the merino 250 long sleeve.

Who makes a men's thermal without a fly opening for bio breaks? The material seemed nice, fit well -true to size, but "no fly, no buy". Sending back for refund.

The durability was a real issue. Within a month it was fraying at the stomach and shoulders and by the second month there were a lot of small holes wearing on the top knit layer. I followed the directions and didn't wash it frequently and it was worn under a down jacket with a very smooth fabric so I'm not sure why it was fraying so rapidly.

I recently pulled the trigger on the beautiful maroon color way of this top. Fit is great if you size up (L fits like a M in Intraknit) , look is amazing (better than non-Intraknit), and warmth is spot on for smartwool clothes. All of these great attributes made the durability letdown even more disappointing. I wore this shirt twice under a fleece around the house. There were at least 30 pulled threads all over the wrist cuffs and bilaterally near the waist. I didn't even get to wash it :( This would be the perfect piece if it had any durability whatsoever. Returned it

It feels rough on my skin and causes itching when I try them on. Unlike Uniqlo HeatTech base layers, which feel smooth and comfortable, the Smartwool merino pieces marketed as exceptionally soft and comfortable do not feel that way for me.
Perhaps this is due to my own skin sensitivity, as mentioned by the support team. Still, it's disappointing after spending hundreds and having them shipped to Singapore, only to end up having to give them away or not use them at all.

The men's model has no fly opening. Unacceptable. Not disclosed on their listing; In retrospect, barely visible on very close inspection of listing photo. (They did refund for the unworn return.
