I bought these for a trip to the UK that would involve a lot of city walking, and they did not disappoint. The support is good and the shoe provided space for my orthotics. The shoe is trimmer than the usual sneaker/running shoe, and combining that with the all black design allowed me to get by with these shoes in the evening—saving me from packing another pair of shoes. Not an exciting looking shoe, but a great option for travel.

Shoes are very stiff, but I am getting accustomed to them. Iwork on my feel, and they were recommended by my podiatrist.

The fit on these shoes was very good. I love Brooks shoes and wear the most of the time because of issues with my feet. I really wanted to love these shoes, But, they squeek! Every step I take they squeek. Every step I took was heard and I didn't want to be the mouse in the room!

The shoe looks nice but it is a bit heavy. That really was not the problem. It seemed to be too narrow. I use 9.5 normal with in my other Brooks sneakers that I LOVE. I ordered the same size in this shoe and tried it several times around the house, but it feels too snug even with my thin socks . I cannot imagine what it might feel like using it all day long and walking any distances. So, I have to return it.

I was so hopeing the previous reviews were wrong, but I had to see for myself. The original addiction walker was perfect. I work in a plant and walking on that hard floor needed some special support. These are not bad per say but the toe bed is tooooo narrow. I'm glad these are not as bulky looking and the comfort is still there... I just can't with the toe bed. I'm going to order a wide (D) just to see if that works. I love Brooks because they are so comfortable and do what I need them to do at work. With the original my feet were never tired, never hurt, never anything but comfortable. I hope Brooks take into consideration feedback for Addiction Walker 3. I need leather. Make more leather.

I have been wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers for 12 years and am disappointed they have been discontinued. I have had two hip replacements, one knee replacement, and a drop foot due to nerve damage. I wear full orthotics (specifically prescribed) and these are the only shoes that provide sufficient support. I felt I had no other alternative than to order the Addiction Walker 2. I ordered my regular size and after inserting my orthotics, it is short in the toe box, so I am ordering a half size up and hope they fit. These shoes do no feel as supportive as its predecessor. I am disappointed and hate to settle, but feel I have no other alternative.

It is unfortunate that Addiction 2 Walker doesn't fit like my wonderful Addiction Walker. These were sent back because they ran a bit short and the arch support was very uncomfortable for my naturally flat feet.

I have been wearing Brooks Addictions for years. These are nothing like my old addictions. They are the same size but the last is completely different and they feel like clown shoes. I'm keeping the black pair because I wore them for a day thinking it may be just because they're new but That was wrong.

This Brooks wasn't for me. First try on felt great but the longer the shoe stayed on, the tighter the toe bed became to the point I couldn't wait to get the shoe off. It may have been due to the leather and lack of any air flow and my feet swelling slightly while walking? Not sure but I had to return them. Brooks's great return policy will keep me buying their shoes!

So disappointed. The soles do not have a very good grip. Felt myself slipping on damp surfaces. Plus they squeak. Good leather should not be squeaking when you walk. Wore the original Addictions for years and loved them. Will not be buying another pair of this version. Only good thing was the support. But that is not enough to negate the other issues.

These are not the same shoes I've been wearing for 15+ years. My legs and knees hurt more now than with the old ones I gave away. What happened???? It's like you've taken old shoes and retread them. I'm on my feet for at least 10 hours a day - I'm exhausted by the end of the shift. My old Brooks Addictions were wonderful. I'm going to return them and see what other shoes are going to work for me. Probably another brand. What a shame that you don't acknowledge the changes.

I don't understand why they have to take a good thing and ruin it. I have worn Brooks Addiction Walkers for at least the last 7 years and they were the best walking show out there. Not so much with the Addiction 2. I have bone spurs in the tops of my feet as well as bunions. I need good supportive shoes and that is what made the previous version a cut above. I have always worn a 9 wide. In these the 9 wide is too wide and too long. I then ordered the 9 B and they are better but... they are looser in the heel causing my no show socks to be "eaten" more an more with each step I take. Finally, with the new comfort footbed they are like the original memory foam matress and not only make my feet hot but tired. Enough of Brooks Addiction for me until they come out with a version with a good stable footbed much like the previous version.

Please bring back the old version of this walking shoe. I would order 2-3 pairs of width 2E a year. This new style is hard and uncomfortable with different sole. The old version was so comfortable they were all I would wear...

I have been using Brooks addiction walker more than two decades. When I ordered this time - I noticed it is called Addiction walker-2. Brooks actually screwed it up. They proved the proverb "If something is not broken do not try to fix it". As soon as put it on I realized this is not going to work. Returning. My next try will be Spira and New balance.

I walk around four miles a day on average and have worn Brooks Addiction Walkers for the past four years. I guess the powers that be at Brooks decided to abandon their loyal following for the sturdy, stable, reliable original and transform it into a glorified sneaker that might be suitable for a younger audience but is wholly inadequate for the senior crowd. Version 2 is wobbly,
bouncy and insubstantial by comparison. And the narrow is so wide in the toe area that my foot began cramping, as I had to tighten my muscles to achieve stability while walking. If the company has not destroyed the tooling for the original model, I hope they'll consider producing it again. In the meantime, I'm defecting to New Balance for my next attempt to find a suitable walker.

UGH. WHY. Brooks please bring back the old design! I have owned 6-7 pairs over the past few years and they had the best arch support I have ever had in any shoe. I would buy a new pair every six months forever! But then you changed the design. They do not have the same arch support and they are nothing special like the old ones. Ugh, whyyyyyy

The Brooks Addiction Walker 2 is nothing like the original Addiction Walker and is, in my opinion, a complete failure. I was able to easily use my orthotics in the original walker, but now they won't fit in since the toe box is significantly lower. Even ordering a wide size didn't fix the problem. Also the insole is extremely uncomfortable. Very flat, hard & unforgiving. Might as well be walking on my hardwood floor. The insoles now use a gel-type material in a grid pattern, not a solid where it might have some "give" and be more comfortable. The grid pattern also means that there's air space under my feet, almost like a breeze going through, making them feel colder. The mid-foot stability is still very secure but, sadly, these are no longer the shoes for me.

I used to love these shoes. Then Brooks changed their last, and the shoes shrank a half size. After a few years of avoiding them, I have returned, ordering a half size larger. They feel like the shoes I remember, though I am still annoyed with Brooks for mis-sizing their shoes. In brief: comfortable, supportive shoes, not too ugly--just order a half size larger.

I have one flat foot and arch weakness, which contributes to balance issues. This shoe is a gift! I am walking better than I ever have. I have tried arch inserts, ankle braces, other shoes claiming good support and this is the first time I have been able to walk normally. The fit is amazing and the support is the best.

As someone who suffers from plantar fasciitis and overpronation because of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, it's a struggle to find good walking shoes that I can wear for long distances without my symptoms flaring up. Even though they do start out a little stiff and need breaking in, I noticed a huge difference right away and the level of support is unlike anything I've ever had in a pair of shoes. I have pretty flat feet so I ordered a wide, but even then they don't seem too bulky. These have become my every day shoes and I plan to order another pair to rotate between so they last longer. I hardly ever leave reviews for products I've purchased, but felt compelled to so that hopefully other folks with PF and hEDS can find them too.

As a special education teacher, the addiction walker 2 (white) are the PERFECT every day, every outfit, shoe! My back and feet have not hurt since changing to this specific shoe. I do have two running shoes with Brooks, but found these one are the best for comfort. I can keep up with my kids and stand for hours on end. I'm buying another pair in white as a back-up. Since this is the first pair I've ever had last an entire year (usually 4-5 months), I'm not sure when they'll give out. Gotta have my next ones ready! They're still going strong after 10 months of teaching, so I'm going to see how long I can go! Love these and definitely recommend if you have a bad back, ankles, or painful feet.

I started a new job a while ago where i walk/stand for nearly all 8 hours on concrete floors, and my heel spurs were NOT happy with me. These shoes are probably the most expensive pair ive bought but they were really a godsend, i have little to no heel pain at work anymore since using these. Bought myself an extra pair

For me, these walkers fit my wide feet very well and give me good support. I have had operations on both my feet and have screws in both of them, so cushioning is important. I have to say, the leather does feel more like plastic, but as a result, the shoes still look like new in spite of being worn for several years in all sorts of weather here in the NW. I also wear the Ghost II.

I have been wearing this particular sneaker for 10 years and I love it. I wear them everyday and they usually last a year or more before I have to order another pair.
