The Addiction 2 resembles the original Addiction Walker in name only. The new version fits differently: narrower toe box, Different fit in the heel causing heels to slip, fully padded tongue, fully padded insole. Not the firm support of the original Addiction. The new version is nothing like the original version. I returned them. A true disappointment. I wore the original version for years and could just mail order replacements when I needed them. Now I have to find a new work shoe. The new Addiction 2 reminds me of the old Reebok "princess" tennis shoe. This is a true disservice to loyal fans of the original Addiction. It would have been more accurate to simply rename this new shoe and discontinue the original addiction walker.

I've been a loyal Brooks customer for 14 yrs, I had special needs and the old shoe style was perfect. This new design is awful. The size is shorter then the old shoe, the cushioned comfort is gone and so is the support. I now have to look for other shoes. They took a great shoe and destroyed it!

TERRIBLE. I've worn Brooks Addiction Walker for YEARS. I can't even tell you how many pair I have purchased in total. WAS my 12 hr shift, RN work shoe. However, this new design is the CHEAPEST LOOKING and most POORLY FITTING shoe I have purchased in years. A true and complete DEPARTURE from the prior Addiction design, comfort, and quality. If you are accustomed to the supportive, firm feel of the prior design, RUN (don't walk) AWAY! The new Addiction Walker design is squishy, non-supportive, and overly-padded. Does not fit the same, does not feel the same. Snug on left foot. Heels slip out, toes pushed to front of toe box. When compared side-by-side to my old pair, you can seethe lack of quality from design and thickness of the sole, to the leather stitching, to the new shorter overly padded tongue: there is absolutely no comparison. No structure. Not at all like the prior edition. I have LOST FAITH in Brooks and do NOT anticipate purchasing another pair of shoes from Brooks anytime soon. A shame, since I was once able to rely on Brooks for quality and comfort. After purchasing my initial pair locally, I mail ordered because I could depend on receiving a quality shoe, always fitting the same. Always well made. Well, that is no longer true, and this is no longer my go-to shoe. In short, THIS SHOE IS JUNK. Suggestion: with such a drastic redesign, Brooks should have just discontinued/retired the Addition Walker and called this shoe by any other name. Absolutely no comparison and a true insult to any loyal fan of the prior design. I would give this product Zero Stars if possible.

I love these shoes! I bought the Brooks Addiction Walker 2 shortly before a six week trip through 10 countries in Europe and they were perfect. I put on 8-10 miles of walking each day without issue -- no pains or blisters. I've had fairly extensive foot surgery a couple years ago and find my foot is sensitive if I don't have enough cushion on the sole. These were complete comfort. I opted for leather so I could more easily keep white shoes clean. I just wiped them off after a dusty day walking cobblestones or dirt paths. My 25-year-old daughter bought them first for her honeymoon to London and Paris because they were both comfortable and cute with summer dresses. She loved them, which inspired me to try them. I'm glad I did!

The Brooks Addiction Walker 2 feels like it was custom fit for me. I ordered my normal size an 8 wide and the fit is perfect. My orthotics replaced the insole, but even without the orthotics the arch feels much more supportive. I bought these shoes primarily for the rollbar for overpronation and it works beautifully. Comfort and support is more important to me than style right now, so I also ordered these in white while they are available so that I would have a second pair of shoes. Now if I could only find a pair of hiking boots with this kind of comfort and support!

Several reviews do not like this shoe, but I love it for the secure fit. Had to order 1/2 size up and got a wide to help with my arthritic feet, neuroma, and tailor bunion. Cushioning is excellent. Enough room for a thin 3/4 orthotic. I overpronate and these help keep my feet level. Agree that the leather has a weird feel to it, but is ok. May be too warm for summer but that leaves 3 other seasons for a comfortable , solid walking shoe.

I had been wearing a popular walking shoe for the past six years until I tried this Brooks walking shoe. I loved the padded tongue and padded back heal. With my last brand I had to wear a special heel cup because I was having pain issue on the bottom of my right heel. Since switching to Brooks I was able to get rid of the extra heel cup and have no more pain. Brooks is my go-to brand for good quality comfortable walking shoes.

I really like these white sneakers! They are leather so they hold up nice and are easy to wipe clean. I use them for casual/street wear, and have been enjoying that they keep me comfortable with the nice cushion while still being cute/on-trend.

My favorite shoe (in white) for work and play. Looks great and feels great. Accommodates thick orthotics.

I love these - better than expected! I'm trying to thwart pronation in one foot, and these work great, I can tell a big difference. I wouldn't be able to run/jog in them (too stiff), but I walk about 5mi a day and they are fantastic for that. I do also use store bought orthotics w them.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. My doctor actually recommended Brooks shoes due to my fallen arches.

I'm a Postal worker of 25 years, so I'm on my feet all day. These feel better than the postal regulated shoes we have to wear. And the bottom of my shoes don't wear out as quickly as the other brand. I also own the Ghost 13 which is phenomenal as well.

I just had a torn quad tendon repair in July and am still healing. These are my second pair of Brooks. I am sold. Won't purchase another brand. These help me with fair and posture. Thanks for making a quality walking shoe. I bought a half a size up. Perfect fit and support! Bought them in white and will buy a second pair in black.

Have wore shoe for 15+ years and they are the reason I can take my walks everyday. Definitely best for walking. Like that there is lots of room in toe area. I wear with customized orthotics so order larger size. Better now as far as slippery on wet surfaces but still would like more traction. I wear them every day and most of the day.

I feel weird writing a review of a shoe I sent back, but I could tell it would have been the best walking shoe ever if it had been a tad longer. Since I've sized out of an 11 and am not quite a 12, it's been a trial because sport shoes usually run short. I could have deluded myself that it I cinched the laces tighter, my left foot would stay back, and they would work. I've lost too much money that way. Because my ligaments are loose, my foot tends to spread out, so that may be it too. Maybe the heel was a bit too wide. You just don't know til you try shoes on whether a half size up or a whole size will do the trick. They were actually narrow too. The construction of these shoes are fantastic and supportive, so if you need up to an 11 or an 11.5, they could work.

First off let me start by saying I LOVE brooks shoes in general. So when I seen they made slip resistant shoes I was excited! In the past year I've spend hundreds and I mean hundreds of dollars on slip resistant shoes that just sucked. I suffer from very bad plantar fasciitis and I am a chef so working sometimes 14+ hours a day I needed not just a good pair of shoes but I needed a GREAT PAIR. I've been wearing them about a month and my foot doesn't hurt like it was. Meaning I can actually get out of bed without crying because I am walking on needles feeling! The heel insole on these shoes are just amazing. I will forever buy these shoes! I did have to send back once because them seem to run just a tad smaller then what I would normally wear.. which honestly happens a lot when I am buying shoes in general! I would say go maybe half a size up then you normally would! Either way I am SO GLAD brooks makes a slip resistant shoe and I have now found my forever shoe Thanks guys!!

I've been wearing Addiction Walker for over 10 years; it has been the only comfortable, supportive shoe I can wear. However, this new shoe is tighter in the forefoot, especially the left shoe. It appears that the shoe box is smaller than the previous pair. I hope it's just a defect in this pair, and not a change that is going to make this shoe unsuitable for my feet! I will not be happy at all if that's the case!

I am EXTREMELY sad to return these. I purchased my initial pair of these in 2015. They held up all these years. I recently donated them, as they looked old and got dirty. I was sure I'll keep these, but the tongues were digging into my feet at the front and on the side of my right foot i also felt dome digging. Enough discomfort that after five minutes I had to admit to myself that this is not going to work. Did the tongues become longer? Those edges at the top are stiff enough that if they dig in, you will probably be uncomfortable. I'm very sad to return, but it hurt. I hope one day I'll get these again.

I bought these for a trip to the UK that would involve a lot of city walking, and they did not disappoint. The support is good and the shoe provided space for my orthotics. The shoe is trimmer than the usual sneaker/running shoe, and combining that with the all black design allowed me to get by with these shoes in the evening—saving me from packing another pair of shoes. Not an exciting looking shoe, but a great option for travel.

I wore them this summer July-August 2023 while vacationing in the French Riviera and Spain. I walked daily for hours. I think it helped to avoid plantar fasciitis pain and sore sole. I recommend them. I wore the all white sneakers with no-show socks with dresses and summer pants. They remained white for weeks during use. I even washed the leather by hand on my return and no stains remained! The leather stays clean and easy to wipe-out.
