I just replaced my long-time brown Addiction Walker I shoes with black (darn it - why don't you offer brown anymore?) AW II shoes. They continue to do a great job of walking support, and the price hasn't changed in years, thank you. But they look way less cool, more ordinary, and, frankly, cheaper than my AW Is. They only have 6 lace loop holes instead of 7 as before, and the missing one is above the tongue loop making it harder to cinch up. Yeah, a minor complaint, but it was better before! They squeak! Maybe just being new...we'll see. The new sole design with all the tiny little Sipes is impossible to clean. The little fir needles get in there and resist all brushing. On my AW Is, my car snow brush easily cleaned out all the mess so the mess didn't come in the house with me. BOTTOM LINE: All the differences I see between old and new design are steps backwards. ;-(

Excellent shoe .. has helped overcome my gout. But one of them "crunches" .. can be heard 100 feet away .. indoor hallway .. slight exaggeration .. but embarrassing.

These are very comfortable walking shoes that work rain or shine. This is my third pair. My only complaint is that they do not come in brown.

Not a looker, but has a great personality.
I didn't know they made shoes for flat footed people. Let alone flat footed and wide foot. Shoes are life changing.
I hate cardio and running. It kills my feet but I force myself to do it. As soon as I put them on I felt support in my feet where my feet were sore form the day before.
Life changing. When I took them off after a few miles back at home it wasn't until I stepped out of them and onto the tile that I remembered my feet hurt. I've started walking and doing lite jogging with them while wearing a 50 lb vest on the sidewalk in my neighborhood. Just great.
I went to wear my normal flat No support casual shoes that I usually wear and quickly my feet started hurting.
I realized I walk without bending my foot. I just lift and move. Apparently this shoe gave me support to force me to walk correctly without realizing it. But doing it in my normal flat No support shoes was pain.
10/10 will buy again. I've had them 3-5 weeks (holidays are growing me off) I've walked everyday except 4 days with these in that time. Legit my lower back pain has been gone for almost 2weeks now. Same bed I'm thinking it's these shoes. Buy.
I hope they come out with new designs soon because it's ready for cardio but looks wise you know it's got the best personality ever.

They are a little heavy , but I like them. I think they will serve the purpose in the wintry weather coming our way . My suede ( brown ) addiction walkers are my favorite, very comfortable!!!!!

Having Plantar Fasciitis, I started wearing the addiction shoe for several years while working as a warehouseman walking on cement floors, 8 miles a day. I've continued wearing them even 10 years after my retirement. They are excellent support shoes, perfect for everyday walking. These are the only shoes I've worn for the 20 plus years.

I've been buying these shoes for 15 yrs. I loved them and recommended them to everyone. Just bought a new pair and was shocked.
Negatives: The shoe changed. Harder (stiff) soles... and slip prone (smoother). Not for snow states. Slightly smaller toe box. Walkers need a little give in the toe box area. If you are on you feet all day this isn't the shoe for you.
Positive: Style upgrade.
I would not recommend these shoes going forward.

Still the most comfortable shoe my 4E feet have worn right out of the box.
No break-in required!!!
Im a little disappointed that the exterior back half of the shoe has so much plastic looking skin.
Long and short, the comfort is a constant 5 star.

I need a winter shoe for walking, so selected the leather upper Addiction because the Dyads I use the rest of the year are ventilated. Im 74 years old and no longer run due to some leg and foot issues. The Addictions fit well, and definitely are more suited for cold, wet weather, but do not offer the kind of support that the Dyads provide. I cannot walk as far or as quickly in the Addictions. The lack of support causes back and leg pain fairly quickly. I realize that my situation probably is not typical of your customers, but I really wish you had a product available such as a leather-topped Dyad for winter use.

I'm a choral musician, so I'm on my feet quite a lot. I have been looking for a shoe that provides good support. This shoe is the shoe that does that for me. This shoe is very comfortable. I would definitely buy another pair.

Fits my narrow width well and no problems inserting my orthotics. I've taken a 3 mile walk in them plus several shorter walks and they have been comfortable.

The Brooks Addiction was my favorite shoe for years. It had great padding good arch support with heavy duty leather. Sometime in 2021 Brooks changed the specifications for these shoes. The new version has cheap looking stamped-out leather. It is also a lighter weight shoe without the padding of the original version. Much less protection for your feet. What a disappointment.
