These things are a godsend. Perfect for snowy mornings when the plows haven't come by or when there's residual snow and slush puddles on the road. I personally found the traction to be better with these vs. running with YakTraks spikes on my regular road sneakers. Feet stayed bone dry throughout thanks to the gortex. I usually size up from my 9.5 shoe for running sneakers. I got a size 10.0 in these which fit perfectly while leaving a little room in toe box.

At first was nervous as the shoe felt stiff (gortex?), but the shoe is comfortable during runs. Would recommend it for a good trail shoe...I use my Levitate 2 LE for road or treadmill.

Definately comfortable shoes, I had a hard and long adjustment period from my last shoes. They are also very hot and do not breathe because they are waterproof.
Other than that, they have great cushioning and traction and my feet did not get wet while running through puddles and in the rain.

Definitely run small. These run a full size smaller than my Brooks Levitate 2’s.
Also, I wear a 15, this shoe is not available in a 16.
I know trail runners aren’t going to be plush, but it would be nice if these had a bit more comfort/cushion. These are marketed as cushion, I do not agree.
Love GTX trail runners, but I am returning this one.

Love the shoes. A great basic shoe. No frills just comfort and amazing traction. You don't fancy pants stuff only great quality shoes. Goretex works well till water gets in then they hold water like a bucket. It's a double edged sword but over all they work well. Love the lace pocket on the tongue.

I love these shoes. I am a city mail carrier and average about 20,000 steps a day. These shoes fill amazing. I ordered men's for added room and width, I have wide feet. Love them so far.

Excellent fit, especially like the Goretex to keep feet dry. Had been looking for a good fit, good look, dry running show for quite a while.

Zero complaints, as expected. I've yet to be disappointed by a pair of Brooks.

Waterproofing worked well to keep feet dry and warm as long as I was not stepping though deep snow or water above the top of the shoe. These lasted for around 9 months of heavy (250 lb) walking. I liked them enough to continue using them after the inner lining was worn down and tread worn off. Ordered a half size up and it was perfect due to GTX lining. Out of stock for my size or I would buy again.

Love the shoes!!!Just wore them for the first time out of the box yesterday near Red Lodge, MT on a 28 mile single day thru hike... google "the beaten path"... thanks to you folks at Brooks, no blisters, bruises, or hot spots and trust me, it was your shoes that made this hike happen!!!
Cheers!

Perfect shoe for me! I had knee and shin problems from pervious (and expensive) trail runners that, while being a comfortable fit, were less "technical" than the Cascadia 14's and didn't provide the stability that I needed for long trail hikes. The GTX's are my second pair of Cascadia 14's. My original pair was of the non-GTX variety and I had worn a hole through the topside of the right shoe because that's what my big toe does to all shoes (this was after about nine months). So, I bought the GTX's to see if the GORE-TEX membrane (which provides the waterproofing capability) would provide an additional layer to prevent my toe from poking through, lol. I wasn't necessarily interested in the waterproof feature, but I'll take it as a bonus (one caution is that the waterproof shoes, while keeping your feet dry from outside moisture, do not breathe as well as the non-GTX's and your feet tend to sweat more as a result).
So far, so good for my as far as wear on the uppers. My experiment appears to be working! The surprise for me is that my new pair of GTX's seem to be more comfortable than the mon-GTX version. In fact, these are the most stable and comfortable trail runners that I have ever worn on the trail. Very happy with this product.

I just returned from a week in Colorado and am so glad that I purchased this pair of Cascadia 14 GTX for the trip! Great traction and kept my feet dry on the trails and streams.

I've been using these to go trail running on mountain biking trails, they handle mud and puddles very well, I recommend paying the extra money for the water proof feature, you avoid sogginess and after a couple minutes it's like your foot was never wet. The traction helps for different conditions and I have not slipped as much as I would have with my more general running shoes. At first the shoes feel very extra tall but you get used to it.

A great trail running shoe! Comfortable fit and a sturdy shoe that holds up to the elements. I have run in sugar sand, waist high weeds, water, and more and these stand up great! Love the return they give me from their sturdy traction!
A great shoe for running trails!

I was impressed with an older model of the Cascadia so decided to get another pair when they finally wore out. This time upgraded to the Gortex model. So far incredibly impressed. I use these for both trail running and hiking off trail. Love the waterproof aspect, used them quite a few times in the snow. Take micro spikes well. Stable, comfortable, and just rigid enough in the sole to protect from rocks, etc. I am a podiatrist as well as teaching mountaineering and highly recommend Brooks brand and these shoes in particular.

The Cascadia 14 is a brilliant trail shoe, providing sure fitting over variegated terrain: grass, gravel, sand, and rough pavement. Like all of Brooks' best shoes, it cannot be beat for fit and quality.

After a departure last year due to construction quality, the 14 returns to the prominence models 1-12 exhibited, with outstanding upgrades such as weight reduction and outsole flexibility. Great, fit, feel, traction and comfort. Dryness is solid. These are great shoes that can be depended on in Wisconsin winters.
