Design:
I just purchased a couple of pairs: For myself and for my girlfriend. My jaw dropped when I first saw this boot - Great job!!! Design Department - You knocked that one straight out of the ball park. Looking at this boot you can tell right away it is more than a boot, it's a serious footwear tool.
Engineering:
This boot amazingly hold some of the best qualities any average to serious hiker will appreciate: It is tougher and stiffer yet still really plush.
From ARC'TERYX to you:
If you are familiar with the attention to details ARC'TERYX is known for, you won't be disappointed with this product. This boot is as good(or superior) than expectation.
This is not footwear - this is a hiking tool!
And a great one at that!!! If you get a chance to try a new pair at the store I want you to try dancing a few step with it and also, try to motion as if you were wearing a pair of ice skates. You might instantly find yourself with a natural extension to your feet and ankles. This boot will hold you down no mater the direction or angle which make it extremely useful when you need to move fast jumping from one rock to the next or while maneuvering yourself on uneven surfaces which brings me to my last "pro"
This boot is safe:
Not often you think of safety with footwear unless you need to wear steel toe all day long at work. In this case the safety is twisted ankles, better agility while climbing, walking, jumping, running and breaking. Best part is you don't have to suffer with the weight or the discomfort of a work and safety boot. This boot ratio is amazing!
Now the Nasty little bugs that will be fixed on version 2:
This will be totally random in my opinion. I say chances are probably around 10%-15% that you will develop weird pleats where the toe bends. the shell of the boot is an extremely durable and flexible shell and with time I hope it will ease itself a bit but like any other textile - the boot shell remembers how it is the easiest to bend under compression and you might end up with your right or left bending inward instead of outward which is terribly annoying. My girlfriend has no such problem, and so does my left foot - supper happy! My right foot though is such whiner, always reminding me, every step I take, "Hey man! something is poking me!" That weird little none compliant little pleat inside the boot is insanely annoying. As previously mentioned - the chances you will get introduced to the same problem is probably none existent - but be aware of it! if there is any kind of weird pleat when you try you boots the first time, just ask the clerk to exchange the right or the left from another box of the same size - this won't make any difference to the store and you will pass the pleat forward to someone else who didn't read my review lol and buy yours and keep this to yourself until you get out of the store with your new amazing boots.
Last but not least - I live in Squamish - Yep, like jacket they have. Anyway, if you mountain bike you know how slippery wet roots are on a trail. Do yourself a favour, and negotiate your passing over the root at right angle just like if you were riding your mountain bike. Your butt will thank you.
How to fix these two cons:
ARC'TERYX got the lamination down path we all know that. my advice: either use a thinner laminated piece where the boot bends at the toe or create a "W" crush area which will probably eliminate the variable of the potential pleat not often found in the Acrux TR. Second would be to add an additive to the rubber of the sole like carbide or diamond dust (yep, like they use on blades to cut tiles) - even walnuts like they use in vehicle tires would be a great start. Slippery, wet pressure treated decks boards, slimy rocks and roots on the trail would become a none existing issue.
I feel that once these two issue have been dealt with on Version 2.0, this boot will be hard to beat and will more than likely be one that will go in the books as one of the greatest boot ever manufactured. Get yourself a pair you won't regret it.

So comfortable (I have narrow feet), light and waterproof. Lugs on the soles are great. New favourite boots.

I purchased a pair of these Acrux TR GTX Boots, tried them on and wore them for a say. I liked them so much I immediately purchased another pair and put them away for future use.

I've had these boots for eight months and have put them through hard use in extreme heat (120*F in the summer here) as a wilderness paramedic. Unlike other boots out here, the soles on these boots don't delaminate from the upper. The soles give mountain goat grip on slick rocks, but don't chunk on the razor sharp rocks. Most boots don't last a summer out here. I've got hundreds of miles on these boots and they are still in good enough shape to wear as part of my uniform. They are comfortable and lightweight as well. It's really hard to find these qualities in a boot these days. They are so comfortable I wear them as my daily uniform boot.

Fantastic boot out of the box. Perfect fit, and look amazing. Material looks very durable and clearly very well made. As well as durability feel very lightweight.

Wow! Arc'teryx has done it again. I love these boots. They are super durable and lightweight. I wore them, right out of the box, to hike the Half Dome Trail, and they were great.

I have exactly the same experiences with the shoes and the claim handling as TNT33333.
Have owned these shoes for about 1.5 years and used them far from daily. Guess I've used them 20-30 times and they're already unusable.
In wet weather, just by walking in wet grass, the shoes will be soaked in minutes. I was asked to submit a video showing how they leaked and after just a few minutes I was able to show how water got into the shoes.
Despite that, they rejected my complaint on the grounds that the warranty period had expired. (Which they could have said from the start, then I wouldn't have had all the work with video and all the other correspondence.)
Now it took almost two months for them to handle the complaint with a final No.
Sad news because the shoes are really nice but they don't keep my feet dry despite the promise that "GORE-TEX insert delivers proven waterproof, breathable protection."
Sorry but I can't recommend these shoes unless you are staying in a desert landscape. But then, on the other hand, they are too warm.

These boots are amazing for technical backpacking and/or scrambles and technical scrambles. They are light, have a rubber rand all around and very good soles.

Great boots that are actually waterproof. Worn then 12hrs/day for half the year and absolutely no issues except having to replace the laces that broke down after about 9 months

These are excellent boots. They have really held up 3 years in. No seam tearing or loss of function. May even get them re-soled.

Great boots so far, I've had them for a couple of weeks now and wear them for work. They seem well made and are very comfortable. The instep outer material made a popping noise when walking, but that's starting to go away as they wear in.

Great boots but they run quite small. I think you need to go a full size larger than normal.

Light, stable, super breathable, and waterproof. These boots are excellent. I haven't used them on any terrain too gnarly so I can't speak to impact protection but I love these.

These boots are great and super comfy. I wear them on small hikes and even took them on a backpacking trip through the Tetons. They look narrow but I don't have wide feet and I actually really appreciate the fit because my foot doesn't slide around. I like that they have a lock on the laces so I can have the bottom tighter than the top. I've had them for just about a year and they've held up great.

Really comfortable, straight out of the box, supportive and waterproof boot. Can do most of what a traditional leather boot would do with much less weight and more comfort

Probably the lightest boots I have ever owned and very comfortable from out the box. Due to a small leak developing after 7-8 months I contacted Arc'teryx under the guarantee and the boot were replaced with no problems, excellent service throughout the process. Would definitely recommend these boots, the profile and looks mean they are not out of place even when walking round town!

Purchased these for my partner and he loves them already! Laces actually aren't an issue for him and he also loves how the hooks clamp down. Barely any break in period and says they fit like a glove / super comfortable.

Supper light and perfect for most of the mountain actives, I love design of shoe laces for this boot because it goes to front of the boot and give user this changes to adjust it .
I do Paragliding as well, this boot is perfect for this sport

Very impressed with these boots. I have hiked in almost every condition imaginable, from Baffin Island to the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I have typically trended toward leather hiking boots for stability and durability thinking the extra weight was worth it. These boots proved that there is a light weight option that can hold up to the toughest challenges. I decided to give these a try and am I ever impressed with their performance. Hiked and scrambled around Fairy Meadow (Mountaineering paradise), over granite boulders, rock hoping across creeks, along moraine ridges, side hilling through overgrown BC rainforest; even had to get through the dusty remains of a recent forest fire. The trip put these boots through the paces on what is best described as a difficult climbers trail. The boots kept me stable with a full pack, kept my feet dry and never over heated.
Cons: They did slip out on wet, muddy roots, but I don't think there are many boots that wouldn't.
And I have had the laces catch on the opposite foot like another review mentioned.

I'm a volunteer in Ground Search and Rescue on the East Coast. I bought these boots 10 days ago, the fit was perfect for me out of the box in a size 9. I've been wearing Salomon and Mammut in a size 9 since 2008. I have had no issues with the laces coming untiedI always double knot anyways. The boots are light and have been comfortable on my daily 10km/hikes and walks. I have had few rain events or really wet slogs yet so I can't rate their water proofing. I have noticed they can be more slippery on rocks and roots than my Salomon or Mammut boots. I'm satisfied with these boots so far and will update this review once I use them in our usual wet conditions.

I bought these boots in March 2023. These boots are incredibly comfortable, light and feet stay dry. I regularly wear them on long hikes, mountain bike rides and through snow. I took them on a six month trip through Europe and they held up amazingly. They look and feel great!

I love these boots, perfect fit, little to no time needed to break them in. Great long lasting soles. I walk an hour each way to and from work on city streets and sidewalks rain or shine, and they hold up beautifully. Very durable, great support and comfort. The only problem I have had with these boots is that they can start to retain a mildew smell and it has been hard to get rid of it. I rotate between two pairs because they are my everyday shoes and I work strenuously in them. I put bamboo charcoal bags in them when not in use but still have issues. I have soaked the inside with 91% alcohol which helped but didn't quite do the trick. I've also soaked them in hot water with dawn detergent. This helped a lot but there is still a lingering smell. My next test will be to soak them in hot water and tide. Unless Arc'teryx can give me a better idea. Even with this issue I still rate them 5 stars, but as they are expensive, I'd like to solve this problem. Other than that issue the boots still look brand new.
