I am very sorry to have to rate these shoes any less than 5 stars, but the cushioning is not at all like my previous Addiction 13 or my Ariel. As an OR nurse, on my feet all day, these shoes have been a savior. Not any more. Please bring back the cushion.

These shoes have been recommended for my by a podiatrist, who is saying these are the best for supporting my arches (for plantar fasciitis). Not sure what the best shoes are in his view for top-of-the-foot arthritis. I can tell you there's a market for this type of customer, as baby boomers like me work with injuries of over-use. Overall rating is 3 of 5, as I get 3 months of wear, sometimes less from these shoes. Currently I am not even walking outside due to foot pain. So mileage is very low. Middle of the shoe just gives way, sometimes in a day, so the arches are suddenly flat.Really would like shoes with support that don't give way; that is not support.

I have worn Brook Addiction for nearly 50 years and this is the first version that has not been great right from the beginning. The base feels much less supportive and kind of squishy. It also rubs on the bone under the lacing. I am hoping that they will break in. Right now I am using them only around the house and sticking with my previous pair for trail walking

The heel bed is too wide. Shoe slides up and down on foot.

I have been buying this shoe for about 7 years now. I was first fitted with them after trying on like 10 different shoes and just could not find the right fit. This is when the 12's were still being sold. (I miss the 12's because they fit so perfectly). I have to wear a height orthotic in one shoe and the 12's were the only shoes with a high enough collar in order for me to have my orthotic inside the shoe. The downside is that when they moved to newer versions, the collars were not as high, I have to take the insoles out, and put my old 12 worn down insoles into the shoe so that my orthotic will fit. These are the only shoes that have a stiff enough sole to compensate for the damage to my foot and ankle so I can walk and hike properly. Eventually they break down (about every 6 months) and I start pronating when I walk so I have to replace them. When tying the newer versions I feel like I have to tie them extra tight so I do not feel like they are slipping off of my foot. When I do this, though, it cuts off some of the blood flow in my foot and it goes to sleep. With the lowered collar, I always feel like the shoe is about to slip off of my right foot. I am really hoping that you guys bring back the higher collar on the shoes so I do not have to take out the new insoles and put my old worn down ones inside. So I can feel normal again when putting my shoes on. I wear these shoes because of the physical limitations in my foot and ankle that I have. No other shoe has ever helped me so much.

I liked the addiction 12 more
It had more sole to it and was softer or bouncier under the ball of the food

Not as comfortable as I thought they should be. Could use more cushioning at the front of the sneaker

Ordered my normal size and width (10 wide) and these shoes looked and felt ginormous on my feet. They also felt very heavy. Decided to return after having them on for less than 20 minutes.

They seem a little wide to me, however my feet are very narrow. They are great looking shoes. There is a nice feel to the material. It was easy to put my own arch supports in. Wore them to an appointment with my foot doctor & he said Brooks & New Balance are the best because you are more likely to get the right size in them.

I like the shoes but they seem heavier than my Ghost running shoes. Why???

I find that they run a bit tighter than the Ghost 13s that I got. I can't even tie them correctly. I haven't had a chance to wear them.

I walk about 15 miles a week, and these shoes aren't supportive enough. My feet are often sore after my walks, particularly my arches. I tend to walk the tread smooth on my shoes, and after receiving a ton of recommendations, I tried Brooks. Maybe I just don't know the brand well enough, but these shoes only have about 45 miles on them, and they already feel more like my New Balances at about 150 miles.

These shoes were nice. I have purchased dozens of Brooks shoes. This is the first pair that have fallen apart after 5 months of average wear. The shoe is ripping apart from the sole of the shoe. I am disappointed with this quality change.

I have bought your shoes for the past 20 years and I love them. And I usually don't have to worry about breaking them in as they are so comfortable. But the left shoe on this pair right under my little and second toe had a little ridge in it and the second time I wore them it was for 3 hours and my foot was very, very sore from this. I was very disappointed. I have been trying to message this area to try to press this ridge out. But i have not worn them for a long period of time again for fear of my foot hurting again.

It does not give as much support as Addiction 13. Maybe because the upper fabric part of the shoe is lighter. Addiction 13 supported my pronation. Addiction 14 makes my knees hurt. Very disappointed.

I have a narrow foot. Unfortunately, even this 2A width was too wide. And I only gave it 3 stars for style but it is really the color I wasn't wild about. It seems that narrow selections are very limited.

I wanted to love these shoes as they had great reviews. The shoes are heavy (and I have bought shoes similar to this from other brands that are much lighter). The wide felt too wide but a regular width would be too small. The shoe also looks a bit like a boat shoe. I had hoped to love these but I just didn't.

As a stylist on my feet 10+ hours, I need a good shoe to help with pronation and fatigue. LOVED the Adrenaline 17 and could go all day without pain or fatigue. Then like most good things, someone had a good idea to change something (if it ain't broken, don't try to fix anything).
Addictions (about a size too big) run much larger than Adrenaline (I normally wore size 8 in them). The cushioning is not the same either, feels very hard after a long day of standing. After about 4 months in this shoe I'm now dealing with heel pain and leg fatigue at the of the day. Good thing they run too big so I can find a good insert to deal with this new issue.
The guide rails Brooks insists on putting in so many of their shoes does NOTHING if you have moderate/severe over pronation. My foot pushes through those and breaks down the support in no time. The sole is one solid rubber, so there isn't any flexibility when walking. Feels much like walking in cheap muck boots half way through the day. The quarter also seems very large. I'm a snug, not tight, lacer and even then the eyestays are almost touching (note to Brooks, just because someone has flat feet, doesn't mean they have FAT feet).
And if I'm going to rag on these shoe this much, I might as well fuss about the lace length. Don't think you're going to get a double knot in those babies.
I have tried REALLY hard to like these shoes, but it's not the love I had for the old Adrenaline. Please, for love of all that is holy, bring back the old Adrenaline with rollbar. Some of us are not looking for a walking, trail, or marathon shoe. We just need a shoe so we can stand in one place all day and not be tired when we finally turn the lights out at night.

Overall my shoes are very comfortable. HOWEVER, i have only worn them about 6 times and the top of each shoe on the inner side has started coming apart.

As many other reviewers have noted, it's not the same as the older version, which had more side to side stability. This one also runs smaller. For the last 10+ years, I've taken an 11 2a (a hard size to find so kudos to Brooks for that) and this year I took a 10.5 2a.

I bought these to replace a. pair of GTS 16. They have been a big disappointment. I like the bigger tow box but they do not provide the stability I am used to with GTS16, which I can not find in a wide width. You offer very few styles in a wide width which is disappointing. Why?

I wanted to love these shoes like I did my first pair of Brooks, Addiction 13, but that is not the case.
I got a pair of Dyad 10s when my first Addictions were showing some wear. The well broken in Addiction 13s were cushier than the new Dyads, but I liked the looks of the Dyads. Now the well broken in Dyads seem cushier than the brand new Addiction14s, which are advertised as having superior cushioning. So, I am disappointed. Had I tried the 14s on in a store I may not have purchased them.
