After having plantar fasciitis for a year, I had been afraid to buy slippers with no arch support but was sick of wearing shoes around the house. A friend suggested getting Birkenstocks and that idea depressed me. I looked anyway and saw this pair with shearling that seemed ridiculous but I decided why not? I have been so happy putting my feet into these cozy shoes both in the morning and after a long day. They are obviously pricey for house slippers but I expect them to last years and help prevent the plantar from returning, so totally worth it. Also, I bought the narrow, which was perfect for my narrow foot.

Love these shearling birkenstocks for winter. The narrow is still a little too wide, but in winter I wear thick socks so they are perfect. They are so comfortable! They shedded a little only the first day I wore them but have not since. Very pleased!!!

favorite christmas gift this year!!!!! cozy and supportive for my feet. This helps my back, while I walk around my house or while I stand, preparing meals for my family.

These Birks are amazing! Comfortable and warm! I haven't had any trouble with the lining as far as shedding or getting worn down. I've been wearing Birks forever and these are one of my favorites!

This is my first pair of Birks. I just don't feel with a larger foot (10) they are feminine. But the flip flop with fur sold me. My opinion is unless u wear wide shoes definitely get the narrow. This will cut down on the wide look of the shoe and it fits as a regular width anyways. Is it warm? Oh yes. Is it comfy? Yes. I have high arches and was afraid these would be too flat. They are comfortable although I do prefer a slight heel like my yellow box flips. Now to style. If I don't care where I'm really going and put comfort first then I wear them. If I want to slim my legs or create a more glamorous look then I don't wear them. Overall I am keeping because if I'm at Krogers I don't need to be glamorous. They are as they appear in the picture!

I just ordered the proper size (up from 40 to 41). I initially bought my nl. size from Amazon. Had to return as too small. So, ordered up one size from Zappos. I cant wait till they arrive. They are warm and so soft. I see some people have trouble with fur remaining on. I think if they last 2 years or so I would be happy. The fur also helps if you have a little rubbing going on. I ordered both the Arizona style and the Boston.

I love these sandals. They are great for winter. My toes are always cold and this does the trick in keeping them warm, with or without socks. Super comfy, but I doubt if I would wear them in public. They're great for around the house though.

I bought these to wear as slippers. They are so comfortable. I have RA and they make a huge difference in how my feet feel.

I'm ridiculous! This gray-brown/White fur Arizona Shearling is my 3rd pair this fall, I love them so much. I bought them after realizing the Black/black fur pair rubs black off on my bare soles every time I wear them barefoot and thought, don't I need another light fur pair? The answer was yes, yes I do. These are like wearing teddy bears on my feet, teddy bears who care about my high arches. This is the first pair I found the fur shed at the edges. Just ran my hands around cleaned off the loose lint. Another review mentioned vacuuming theirs and I could've done so but it was really no big deal. I hope BIrkenstick makes a black suede/white fur option. And yes,if they do, I will get a 4th pair. I'm crazy--like a fox. FYI: I got the same size in these as my usual Arizonas, 39N.

I CANNOT wait to get my 2nd pair(!) of these crazy cosy outdoor-indoor Birks in dark fur/suede. I wear my new tan/white fur ones ALL the time, though I bought them for inside slippers. They have the contoured footbed I need for my high arches (I'm a 39N/8.5-9B reg. shoes.) But even in Oct. in northern NM, I can wear these running errands without socks yet. May be kind of crazy to onlookers but THEY are not wearing these. The fur of my first pair has now flattened to my foot shape and altho I assumed there'd be fur loss where the pressure/rubbing is the greatest-heel, ball of foot and big toes-I find after several weeks of almost constant wear the only spot furless is just the ball of my big toe on right shoe, not left. My previous Ugg slippers lost more fur and sooner than these, but after the initial loss they remained pretty much the same for the rest of the time I had them. These may even retain more fur than my Uggs, don't know yet. I think of them as 'prehistoric chic'. As to sizing, after the fur settled into my foot shape the feeling of them being a bit short went away. Now they fit like my regular arizona size. ONLY LUSHER AND FURRIER AND COSIER. I got the dark combo when/if I have to wear socks, I think they'll look better/less conspicuously Cro-Magnon.

Got these to be mostly indoor slippers since I love to wear Arizonas in the summer. I wear 39 In the shearling I just got, I might've been better off ordering up a size. I love them and have found myself wearing them out to run errands just because they are so soft, cosy and comfy. The fur has matted down to my foot shape and, like all my Ugg slippers, will likely develop bald spots at heels and big toes from wear, but those areas of greatest pressure won't grow, if past experience holds true. So I'm getting another pair in a dark color. Might try a 40, my toes sort of run up against the front raised edge more than in the softbeds I'm used to. I wear them barefoot but as weather cools might resort to socks, dunno.

These Birks are wonderful! In terms of sizing, I am usually a 6 or 6.5 normal width but I wear a 36 narrow in both pairs of Arizona Birks I have (I find the regular width just too wide and clunky). We live in a modern apartment with very hard (and cold!) floors so I was looking for something to wear indoors that offered support and cozy warmth. These are the ideal combination and I can adjust the straps to wear with or without thick socks during different seasons. My feet used to hurt in the mornings upon waking and after wearing these daily whenever I'm home, they no longer do. Amazing. And finally, they are so unusual looking (furry sandals!?) that I now find them quite stylish and want another pair to wear out in the world!

The shearling on a sandal is "slick", My foot went right through the front of the shoe. I've been on a waitlist for this shoe for the entire season. I always wear the R width, but they are on the way back in exchange for the narrow width. It's not the same as a shearling boots which have toes to keep you in.

I have had these for a few months and I am really happy with them. I use them mostly as house shoes but could see wearing them outside and getting a second pair for house, when the weather gets cool again. They are my first pair of Birkenstocks, even though I never cared for the style before, I think these are very cute, my boyfriend calls them viking slippers. They are comfortable and cozy. I don't think of myself as having narrow feet but I ordered these in narrow with my regular size 39 and they fit great not too tight to feel comfortable nor to loose to fall off, if you were say, riding a bike or something. I experienced minimal shearling shedding, a little, but they still look and feel very cozy. They inspired me to get a non-shearling pair for summer outdoors.

My narrow feet love this shearling shoe! The arch support is just right and the adjustable buckle allow for a perfect fit. Great shoe for wearing indoors on a snowy day!

Great shoe. I definitely had to get the narrow and it still is a bit wide. I did see where many said shearling wears off but I inquired and you can send them in and have shearling replaced. I assume there is a charge but will be worth it. Would buy them again!

Love these shoes or should I say house shoes. My feet get so warm that I have to change shoes for a while in order to cool off. These are again wonderful Birkenstock comfortable shoes. Love them.

These shoes are wonderful! I am about to order my second pair, having worn my first pretty much all year, with and without socks, in and out of the house. They have served me more than well. I have an incipient bunion and high arches. I am a fan of the Arizona model and find they fit my feet very comfortably. After the year, there is a bit of wear of the shearling lining in a few spots around the heel cup , but nothing serious enough to make me stop using them. The shearling has compacted with use. I had ordered my first pair in medium; I may order the second in narrow, which is what all my other birkies have been. The medium was not a problem because the straps could be tightened, however. If you like a comfortable, supportive shoe, these are for you.

LOVE them! Having a size 43 is not easy and it is so hard to find a different pair of Birks since all the cute woman styles stop at 42. These are great. I can wear them with funky socks and they keep my feet toasty warm. I have worn Birks all the time since 2006 when I broke a toe. They are the only shoes I wear so hopefully they will consider making some woman styles in 43. Get lots of comments when I wear them.

My favorite indoor slipper shoe. I own many, many pairs of birkinstocks, but this is my first shirking pair. Also ordered the clogs in shearling. Great for indoor winter use.

I love these! My feet need warmth, but my toes need freedom. I wear them around the house, mostly, but am not averse to the occasional trip outside in them. Love the support, so much better than squashy slippers. And they look hilarious, just what you would expect. I got the same size as my regular Birki's and have no issue with the fit, with or without socks.

Love these! They are like a blankie for your feet! I do wish the shearling were a little more substantial,-- but all in all, I am very happy with these! I purchased the narrow, due to my narrow/medium feet - and am glad I did.
