I have been wearing Asics Venture Gel 6's for 4 years. No longer available. Ordered the Venture 7. Wore them a half day around the house. Had to take them off because of plantar fasciitis type pain in both feet. Asics cut corners on these shoes. The shoe felt cheaply made and did not have the support of the former 6. Why do they have to stop making a quality shoe and replace it with an inferior model lacking the same quality. The price is the same not the quality. I called Zappos and the sales rep was very helpful. She found the Gel Venture 6 on Amazon for me. I had previously checked and they were not available in my size. This day they were. I ordered them from Amazon . The shoes were also an inferior quality and not the same style. I knew as soon as I picked them up off the front porch. The package was lighter in weight than it should have been. I have had no less than 8 pairs of Venture 6's in the past. I returned them to Amazon. I cannot understand why Asics would lower their standards and put such crap out on the market. Unless these were fakes or knock off shoes that I got. I trust Zappos but not Amazon. Now I don;t know who to trust. I hope that Asics will return to the same quality and excellence that they used to produce. I am really frustrated.

I have a wide flat foot and ASICS are one of the few companies that usually makes a sneaker that fits well and holds up. The earlier reiteration of this same shoe Gel Venture 6 fits great and I bought another pair but the 7 style appears narrower and has less fabric in the middle around the laces - as such I just returned them and kept the new 6 style albeit in a less exciting color scheme ! Odd how different one style of the same shoe can be to one another !

Purchased these after owning a couple of pairs of Venture 6s. The Venture 6s were great, but these were not. They felt narrower than the Venture 6 of the same size, and had stitching in a spot that rubbed my toe. I returned them.

Have been wearing this style since the venture 3, and they are by far the most comfortable, Best fitting shoes I have had on my feet in years

I have purchased earlier ASICS Gell Venture models and they were a perfect fit. The Venture 7 was entirely too narrow. I had to return the shoes I purchased and go from a D width to 4 E to get something that came close to fitting. the shoe was slightly loose but I snugged them up. Ideally a 2E in my size 15 would have been a good fit but they are no available. the laces as other have said are horribly thin. I will most likely take the old laces off my shows that are no longer any good but at least the laces are much better than these. Overall ASCICs did something to change their overall fit and quality they used to have. Zappos was terrific on their support during the exchange and replacement of my original shoes. I'll continue to shop at Zappos for the excellent help I received on my call to customer service.

I really like these shoes, I like the feel style etc etc.. What I don't like is the build quality. I've had 2 pairs of these. The first pair broke like the attached picture and I thought I'd got unlucky but I bought a second pair and the same thing happened. I wear these shoes to drive in and that's it so they're not getting super heavy trail action I just where them walking from the front door to the car and from the car to the office etc etc.

My hubs has been buying these sneakers from a couple designs back. He wears them to work every day where he tests solar panels and fabricates in a lab and with regular wear they last about 1-1 1/2 years. These are true to size and provide good support for being on his feet most of the day.

Like others who reviewed this new version of GEL-Venture, I'm disappointed ASICS made big changes in fit from the previous models. I tried up-sizing from 12.5 to 13 and 14, finding the 13 too small in the toe box width-wise and the 14 way too big overall. No offering of 13.5 in this shoe. Bummed that I have to start a new search for the perfect shoe after so many years of enjoying a great fit and performance. ASICS, you blew it on this one.

they run about a half size small so if you want a size 9 order 91/2.other then that there a good shoe for the money.

The size chart on the website was off by half a size. Also, the arch support for this shoe is mediocre. In fact, I feel like the material for the shoe was second rate. If it is at all indicative of the rest of Asics shoes, then I will no longer be their customer. The last shoes that I got from them were phenomenal and lasted quite a while. Their arch support was great. I am sad to say that Asics has let me down.

These are supposed to have been the replacement for the Gel-Venture 6 but fit not the same. My outside, pinky toes rubbed up against the show too much and had to return them. Not the same as its predecessor. Why mess with success?

Have the Ventures 6 and they are great, the Venture 7 are not so great they run small and run narrow now, the Venture 6 where perfect fir in size and width and the lases on the Venture 7 Asics you must be kidding geez so thin and crappy, returned do to being make smaller by Asics they ruined a good sneaker name.

Poor quality shoes! I have had Asics for years, but I have never had a hole open in the toe after only a few weeks of wear! I am disappointed that I wasted my money, but of course, they cannot be returned, as I have worn them. I will find a new place to shop.

My husband wears an extra wide width and has purchased several pairs of these Asics shoes. Whenever black or navy are available, he gets another pair.

I bought these using the Asics fit calculator on Asics website and fit is perfect. I usually wear 2e but these shoes were available only in M width or 4e. 4e turns out to be fine for me in this shoe after worrying they might be too wide. Very comfortable and lightweight but with nice grippy sole also.

So these would have got a 5 star for the Overall, but they come with the cheapest, thinnest shoe laces I have ever seen. I have big hands and the laces are so thin they are very hard to hold securely so that I can tie a nice tight bow. Why Asics, Why??!!

They are a little tighter than the other Asics I usually. But I cannot find any of the COOL colors in a 4-E. So I bought these on sale and they will do.

Should have trusted another reviewer....the specs say the insole is removable, but that seems to be not the case. Deal breaker for me as I like to use a slightly orthotic 3rd party insole.

Fell apart quickly after light wear.

I’m disappointed to have to return these. My husband loved the previous version of this shoe, but couldn’t continue to wear these. The laces and lacing system are now of poor quality, and the laces won’t stay tied, even if knotted.

The back of the heel cup digs into my heel and is extremely painful when just walking around the house. I tried these on in a DSW store but they did not have my size so I ordered 12.5 from Zappos. I did not notice the painful heel cup at DSW. I am not sure if I just got a bad pair of these from Zappos (is this the reason they were on sale so cheap at Zappos? ... they're $20 more expensive at DSW.) Seems like maybe a quality control issue? I will be returning them. I don't know what the deal is but it's pretty disappointing because these shoes seem perfect for me in every other way and Zappos usually comes through for me with good shoes.

Fit and finish excellent. Durability was outstanding. Stable on all surfaces.
