Since the 992 don't offer wide versions, the 990 is my go to standard with this classic grey sneaker that fits almost all occasions. Very comfortable! Great shoe with soft classic color that matches everyday use.

I've had several ankle surgeries, including a total ankle replacement. I need a sturdy, supportive, comfortable sneaker for working out and these are perfect. They're a bit manly looking, so I switched out the navy laces for gray and much better!

I bought these shoes to go to Disney World. So im going to WALK! I'm a heavy set person so comfy shoes are a must. I am still breaking them in but I feel a lot of support. In comparison I bought the New Balance 574, and my feel hurt in places they had never hurt before. So I returned them and bought a second pair of the 990. The sole feels really good when I'm standing. My only complaint is there are not more colors to choose from. Zappos customer service is the best. I did a few returns before I got to these shoes. They answr the phone quickly and helped out.

Great sneaker. Super comfortable. New Balance sneakers are the most comfy I own and I have A LOT. I am a true women's US 7.5 in Nike, 6 in boys, and a 7.5 in these were too big (foot would slide up and down in the back). I opted for the 7 and they fit just right. I prefer my sneakers to be snug though, with not much of a gap in between the tips of my toes and the front of the shoe. Hope this helps someone!

My favorite pair of shoes!! It's pricey, but totally worth it....it's made in the US that is why it's so much. Great for long shifts, if you have a job that require standing only! This is my second pair, and I'll continue to get them as long as they're around!

Fourth pair purchased and still top notch quality. Be sure to be logged in to your account if you wish to received NB award points as much longer process to have them added after the fact. Also on NB award points unaware they expire, but watch out as they evidently expire after one year.

I wanted these shoes for awhile, they were sold out in size 7 for the longest time. One day I decided to randomly check up on them and it must have been my lucky day because they had my size!! These shoes are so so comfortable and are great with any outfit. Definitely a must have in your closet!!

This is my everyday shoe. I would love to be able to wear more stylish shoes like in my younger days. However, comfort, function, and support trump vanity now. Wish there were better color options. This is my third pair

My third purchase of the 990. Very dependable - comfortable and as a result of wearing this model, I no longer have calluses on my feet which I didn't think was possible. I have always used these specifically for walking but have just started running and they're still very comfortable. I usually get a wide but this new version seems a bit wider than normal so I think my next pair of 990 will be in the standard width. Expensive but worth the cost!

This purchase was my fourth pair of New Balance. I am a power walker who has bad feet and has had a back surgery. These shoes hold up well on the bottom and provide so much shock absorption! Worth the money. I know they aren't super trendy but comfort and quality matter.

The sole is overall too big for my thin feet. Why is it so difficult to find minimalist or 'normal' size, shape and color running shoes? My favorite pair of running shoes is Adidas Marathon 10.5, and like most all styles are no longer manufactured.
