Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

I had the 990v5 and they lasted 2 years working in the ER. The upgraded version feels just as good!

A great shoe, comfortable, nostalgic styling and built with premium materials. The only downfall I have noted is it's lack of a decent grip on any non dry surface. I have owned several pairs and can honestly say that after only minimal wear these turn in to relative ice skates on any modestly wet flooring. Please take this as constructive criticism - I know you guys can do better.

The v5 are amazing but I recently tried the v6 and they are horrible. Hope they don't stop selling the v5.

I've been wearing 990's for walking since the mid 80's. Version 5 is a little less cushioned than prior versions, and they have an odd issue where the shoelaces are too short!! I've been told by a friend, a runner, that Version 6 is not as structured as 5, and that I should buy up all the Version 5s! Obviously, I love the 990, and I have bought every color available in narrow over the years. Good shoe, even for walkers!

I bought these shoes last minute for my 2 week trip to England and Scotland, knowing we will be doing lots of waking, purely as a just in case/back up pair. Thank goodness I did bc they became the only shoe I've worn this trip (also brought with me "cute" or more fashionable trainers-trying to look cute, but nope-those shoes were not comfortable and my feet were dying after a day of walking in them). These new balance tho, So comfortable! Have worn them exclusively since 2 bad days in other shoes and love them and feet have never felt sore. Have done great with the amount of walking (over 20k steps per day) we've been doing over the different terrain-cobblestone and concrete and even some trails; lots of hills and stairs and these shoes are so insanely comfortable through all of it. Went for the black pair and so glad I did. Goes with everything. Will now be my exclusive travel shoe. Need the grey pair also. Highly recommend and worth the money. ONLY complaint-some of the suede is rubbing off, shoe only 2 wks old but have had heavy use in those 2 wks, but I suppose that won't affect the longevity of the shoe (I hope). But that's the only complaint I noticed. Oh. Do find it runs big. Usually wear a size 8 in tennis shoes but in these sizes down to a 7.5, glad I did, perfect fit!

obsessed with these shoes. they're the comfiest pair i own. so cute for everyday casual wear i usually wear size 8 in nike but for these i wear 7.5

I bought other New Balance sneakers 2 years ago, but not THE super-duper made-in-USA 990v5's. I liked the other ones. Time for new ones. There is no comparison. These are SO GREAT. Comfy, sharp looking, classic in the best sense of the word, no need for breaking in, or course, just the best ones I've ever worn. And on top of that, to know they are made in this country is the best. I'm so happy I bought them. Best purchase this summer.

I walk 8 miles per day at a very fast pace. Not quite a run, but almost a slow jog. These shoes are so comfortable, durable, and last for quite a while considering the amount of mileage I put on them. I only wish that they did not change the bold orange trim that was on the 990v4. It made the shoe a little more fun, and easier to distinguish from my husbands. Otherwise, this shoe is great.

I have many issues with my feet. I purchased these shoes because they are made in America plus they appeared to be well constructed. At just short of 75 years of age I am still trying to walk 30 minutes to 1 hour daily. These shoes help me meet that objective. I will buy these again.

Only New Balance for my aching feet! I've been wearing 993 for years because of it's sturdiness and wanted to try a different style; my new 990v5 do not disappoint! I love the black 990v5it is stylish and comfy. It runs a bit large, so half size down.

The 990v5 supports your foot like no other! I only buy the 990 line. I have arthritis on the top of my foot and also need good support for my ankles. Just a great walking shoe!!

I have wide, flat feet with plantars and these have been a fantastic shoe! So supportive and comfortable to wear all day. Would definitely buy these again.

990's may have cured my Plantar Fascititis. I am very happy.
