Fit is awesome as expected. As long as I order "Made in the USA" New Balance shoes they fit and the 4E width is as expected. I've found the others truly lacking even in a 6E!

I am a heavy older USAF person and i have workouts and worn 990's since the 70's. They were excellent then and the 990v5 are a superior upgrade to an already outstanding shoe

Fit was perfect.
Shoes are much more bouncy than the old ones they replace. I will be replacing them more frequently than once every 18 months from now on.
Shoe strings are just the right length, they are laced without reaching the top most eyelet.
I have fallen arches, so I use with corrective inserts, the shoes accommodate that well after removing the inserts that come with the shoes.

These are a perfect fit yo replace my old worn pair. Only problem was the difficulty in getting them as store could not get them and when we tried to order online it was not clear how to be sure we were ordering the correct width. No one at NB could explain they just kept saying it was on the web site. Finally figured out that 4E and XX are the same!!! We could have had them do much sooner if they would have explained clearly and answered our questions! But they are the best shoe snd worth the wait, especially for me as physically challenged.

Wear these shoes every day for hours at a time. Comfortable all day long with excellent cushion and support. I have arthritic hips and knees so a well made supportive shoe is essential to maintaining an active life. These shoes are the best I've worn by far. I have a second pair in navy so I can trade off. Highly recommend.

I started wearing NB shoes in the early 1990's. By the mid 90's I stepped up to the 990 series shoes and have never turned back. Love them in the classic grey/white and in the new 990V5 the black/grey looks great. The only parts I don't love are the interior material isn't as soft as the 993, and the price creep over the years. They are getting closer to 200. I understand though, because of the Quality and being made in the US by American workers! Still my favorite footwear all these years later!

Been running in 990s for a long timeincluding D1 college track. Only shoe that allowed me to avoid shin splints. Heavy but great support and cushioning (and when you put on flats after these it's like you're running barefoot)

New Balance shoes are always comfortable.
The 990V5 shoe looks similar in design to the 993, but it actually has a different charm. I recommend that everyone reading this review have both the 993 and 990 models.

I now only wear 990v5 when I go out for a long walk. I feel I can go on forever! The heel support is real folks! Best purchase I've ever made. My feet no longer hurt, especially since it's a shoe that can accommodate a person with flat feet like myself. Thank you to everyone over at New Balance!

Being a size 16 it gets difficult to find a decent sneaker for my long walks. I’m averaging 10 miles a day on the road and require a sneaker that can hold up to that many miles as well as my large frame. New Balance has been the sneaker I’ve turned to for decades. The 990v5 is what works for me as I have transitioned from running to walking.
Zappos makes it easy to get a difficult to find sneaker to me in a few days. The only knock is I haven’t seen this sneaker in this size go on sale anywhere including Zappos. It’s as if I’m being punished for having a size 16. $200 for a sneaker that quickly gets enough miles on them to have to be replaced is unfortunate.
I will continue to stick with Zappos as it is one of the most reliable and trusted places to purchase shoes. It’s as if someone is literally waiting around the corner with my size 16’s ready to deliver?

My feet are very difficult to fit -- only two brands will work. I love the shoes, they fit well, but I had to replace the laces with gray. White laces on these shoes are garish.
