Customer Reviews New Balance Made in US 990v5

This has been my go to casual shoe for several years. Mainly because I have a narrow foot and the New Balance 990v5 is made in widths that accommodate my need. I have tried other brands of comparable price and design but have had nothing but trouble with the fit and functionality of them.

Online ordering was straightforward and quick. Shoes arrived on time in perfect condition. Very pleased with the experience.

My husband thought it was a great gift. He said, "They were very comfortable."

Expensive but worth the money got to take care of your feet.

Very comfortable to walk in. The fit was wider than expected so I had to put a thicker insole inside for extra arch support and snugness.

I love this style shoe. I'm 72 and have been buying this shoe for years. It is made very well.and gives me the stability that I need at my age. I have three pair. One for mowing, one for everyday, and a pair for special occasions. Thanks for staying on top of quality. Need to give senior citizens a little discount.

Walking and exercising in the Gym and outside. They are incredibly supportive in all ways and directions.

I've been an NB customer for at least ten years. I have a difficult to fit size. I bought this pair to workout in the gym. I was looking for support on the front arches of my feet and these provide it. They were highly recommended by the sales person in the store. He was correct. After wearing them a few times, I'm already planning to purchase a second pair.

I am now in a pattern of ordering a new pair about every 9 to 12 months. I put an average of 6 miles per day walking on streets and sidewalks as part of daily workout, 50% of the time with a small daypack with about 25 lbs of stuff. Great shoe for men over 200 lbs.

These tennis shoes last forever. I have 3 pair....good, everday, and yardwork. All 4E widths.

Everyday use. Mr Rogers at home with another pair. This is a great shoe. Grab a pair, you want despair.

This may be a running show, but I use this as my daily driver. Casual, but stylish. Goes with most daily wear. My only gripe is the lack of a loop on the tongue to prevent the tongue from constantly moving to the side. How does this not have one?? Pricey shoe, but I would consider a new pair with a discount.

The webbing across the top developed a hole from the toe rubbing against it underneath. The more you wear it the larger the hole becomes. Not good for an expensive sneaker.

I have bought New Balance for years and I was really looking forward to my first pair of 990 v5. I watched an online video documenting the build process. Reviews were positive. I was sold. When they arrived I thought they fit a bit too tight. No problem I thought, they'd stretch just a bit after wearing them. After the first day I noticed the from ball of my foot to the toes had a weird texture - like I could feel the structure of the shoe or something. Again I thought it was probably fine and would go away. But, no it didn't. I pulled the foam insert out to inspect after a few days and felt around inside. The surface of the insole is irregular and there are pronounced bumps towards the front half of the shoe. I compared the 990s to others sneakers I have - there's not supposed to be bumps on the insole. Sorry to say this but this is clearly shoddy workmanship. I strongly recommend reconsidering purchasing these shoes or at the very least, carefully inspecting them before wearing them. As a matter of fact, these are the worst New Balance shoes I've ever bought. Had I pulled out the inserts and inspected the sneakers before wearing them I would have returned them. They're not returnable if they've been worn. Be warned!

I like the support and cushioning. Be aware that this shoe is longer than other models with the same size.

These shoes are really comfortable. The best part is made in good old USA.

I got these for walking. I was happy to find 12.5 6E. Cushioning in the heel feels good. Just received them. Hope they are durable as we'll.
