I just bought these sneakers at the New Balance store in Avon, CT. They are absolutely wonderful. I am flatfooted and these shoes are incredibly comfortable. I am very happy that they are made in the USA and that New Balance supports American Manufacturing. It matters. I am planning to buy additional pairs of the 900 series sneakers in different colors (997?) very soon.

Great comfortable fit. My feet love these and being made in America is even better.

This is my fourth pair of 990, and I am sure in a year or so, I will buy a fifth. Throughout my life, I have had trouble finding comfortable shoes. I wish I would have tried New Balance earlier in life. I currently have four pairs of useable New Balance shoes--New Balance is the go-to brand for me. The 990s are my favorite. Jim O.

Shoes look great and can take a beating. Super easy to clean to keep up the appearance even after getting dirty/muddy.

I'm 78 and run 2 or 3 miles 4 or 5 times a week. This is my third pair, the last being the V4 which served me well other than my big toenail wore through a bit on one shoe. I used to buy shoes that had more leather where the toe hits but the NB fit is very comfortable with the inserts so retail not being open, I gambled online with the V5 without trying it on. The size is on the inside of the tongue and it had pretty well worn off but I called in and got the size and width on the last one with ease. I guess I'll just have to cut my toenails more often

My questions were answered in a very timely manner about the model number change. I have bought these tennis shoes for the past 10 years because they fit well and do not hurt my feet. They are very durable. I use them first out in public, then working around the house and farm, and then on my tread mill.

I have been wearing this model and its predecessors for over 20 years and it is the ultimate shoe for runners. I put about 500 miles on the last pair, totally worth the price. I am a prolator and use orthotic inserts yet I still wear down the outside of the heel long before any other part of the shoe becomes worn. I am looking if I can resole the old pair to use as regular sneakers, because the pair befor *that* is still in use as my gardening shoes!

As comfortable as the 990 version 3 and 4 of 990!!

I have worn 990s for years, for jogging, for walking, and lately in place of any other shoes. They are comfortable and well made. I do not notice any substantial difference between version 5 and the prior iteration (version 4) and I wonder whether this was the marketing department's idea of a simple way to increase the price without actually announcing an increase.

This is my third pair of 990's and always comfortable and great for working out. I do a lot of walking and easy on my feet. Very pleased

I have to have a pair at home, at work and at a second home. I have a wide foot and these sneakers are absolutely the most comfortable ever. Wide shoe size? This is your ticket to comfort, paul

I like the fact that when I go to a NB store my feet are measured to ensure I buy the best fitting product. Unfortunately because of the lockdown I was unable to visit the store in Manhattan so I had to guess the size and width as the information on the inside of the shoe's tongue had worn off. Guessed right and the runner fits well.

The 990v5 is true to size and I really like the color. My husband bought NB for years but lately can't find many in the EE width, in the stores. So, I was so thankful to find these online and that they fit like they are supposed to!! Thank you! And we love that they are made in the USA!!!

Great product. Only one peeve. Wouldn't it be great to have 45 inch laces to select or have both the 45 inch and the 55 inch laces included with the order.

This shoe is extremely comfortable and the sizing was spot on. Great Product can't go wrong with NB Quality!

I have been wearing countless pairs of New Balance sneakers over the years including this latest pair. It fits great like all the others and is designed to be cooler in the warm weather better than previous models. Another thing about NB sneakers is they accept orthotics easily which is a must for me since I have plantar fasciitis.

I like the shoes very much and they fit well mostly. My right foot is larger than left one and in beginning right one was a bit tight but after wearing them it is fine. I do wish they were somewhat lighter but overall I am pleased with the shoes and the quality.

I've worn nothing but 990's for years due to foot problems. Unfortunately the V5 has lost the magic. I ordered same size as last time and they were too tight in the toes. There was also a lump in the sole under the right toe and made it very uncomfortable to walk. The softer insert led to more unwanted motion in the heel and pressure on my bone spur. I had to return them and go back to my V4's which are terribly worn out. I'm feeling pretty discouraged about what to buy next because I really do need a new pair of shoes.

Great product that provides the necessary support I need in a running shoe. I have tried switching to lighter shoes and other brands and I always get foot injuries. Never had a foot injury with the 990.

The comfort is phenomenal. I bought them because of my collection of special retro running shoes, and they are well worth the money.

This is a sharp looking shoe, well detailed and attractive. More importantly, the interior is well structured and my foot feels well supported when I wear them.
