I have worn this shoe for twenty five years. They fit my feet perfect. Great walking shoe and great everyday shoe to walk in. I used to buy them locally but the store I purchased them at quit carrying my size 14. One nice thing about ordering direct from New Balance is a better choice of colors. Shipping was fast and free. How can you beat that.

I just wanted to corroborate what other reviewers have said. My "true" shoe size according to the Red Wing store measurements is 13.5 wide. For comparison I wear a 12EE in the Maine Hunting shoe which fits great. This shoe definitely runs narrow - I first tried the 14EE and it felt like a normal D-width shoe. The 14EEEE fits exactly like I'd expect a wide, E, or EE shoe to fit. So my advice - if you wear "normal" width shoes, try the EE first. If you wear wides, go for the EEEE. If you normally wear extra wides, you're probably out of luck. As for the shoes themselves, they look nice, they're comfortable, I like them so much I got a 2nd pair in Navy. Love that they're made in the US as well.

I have bought NB 990s in the past and liked them. I bought this particular model because of positive reviews about reduction of foot pain. The shoes have great support. They help me with plantar fasciitis pain and correct the way my heels strike the pavement, helping with back pain. Will buy additional pairs.

Please dont ever change the quality of the 990. These are simply the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The comfortable support of the Ultrasoft ortholite feels amazing and the upper does not feel flimsy. Also love that they are made in good ole USA!

I use my New Balance shoes nearly daily except when I go to church. Purchased my first pair in 1985 and have never bought or wanted any other shoe except New Balance. I have gone through or have currently available the 15 pairs I have purchased over the years.

I used to be an Asics-guy, but this M990v5 fits perfectly and looks better. The fact that these are US-made, right here in New England, means that there's no excuse to not try a pair.

I wear a very hard to find size - 14AA. NB 990v5 is a perfect fit. Very comfortable both walking and jogging.

This is my son's go to running shoe and they always have it in his extra large shoe size. Have been buying this model for the last 4 years.

Bought 2 pairs. One for running and one for everyday walking.

Great for walking and taking o the gym. The only drawback is that the grey with castlerock does not come with matching grey shoestrings..

I have had New Balance 990s for many years now - can't remember when I purchased my first pair. I have very difficult feet to fit, and suffer when my feet can't retain their flat spread from a narrow heel to a grotesque splay of my toes. Your footware works in a very supportive way so that I can run, work, and continue my biking routine into my mid-eighties. Thank you for continuing to make this style.
