I think this would be an excellent hiking shoe. It was true to size and felt pretty good. Loved the support. My only issues were on the minor side. The edges rubbed my ankle bones. I think this aspect could have been fixed by breaking them in; however, the shoe is just heavier than what I wanted. I ended up going with the Oboz Sapphire Low BDry. Those still rubbed a bit until I switched to thicker socks.

This Medium width was too narrow for me. I will try the women's C width. Nice shoe. My heel felt more stable in the Salomon Ultra 4, which was very flat, not rounded.

There shoes fit fine and were comfortable, but I was disappointed in the waterproofing. Five minutes walking in the rain through some puddles and my toes were wet. They're better than sneakers, but not what I would tout as water proof.

I was looking for a low waterproof hiking shoe that wasn't too heavy. These almost fit the bill until I tried on the Oboz Sapphire. It is a tad lighter and looks more like a street shoe which appeals to me since when I travel I try to limit how much I take with me. The comfort of this was quite good right out of the box, but there are some spots that felt like they might rub if I wore them long term. It' s a bit hard to tell when I was limited to walking around my condo! I did feel these were well made and would last a long time if more of a hiking look is ok with you. I was impressed with them overall and almost stopped looking.

I was looking for a hiking shoe with a wide forefoot and narrow heel. I read a lot about these being great for that. I couldn’t tear them on mountains where I live but I road tested them and they seemed to do well. Then I took them to Montana to climb some mountsians. Well, I got heel blisters. My heel slips. I think that I’ll have to prep my foot with extra thick moleskin and a sock liner to prevent this. I’ll still be searching for the perfect hiking shoe for me. The toe box was quite roomy though!

Slipped in the heel, otherwise good fit and nice comfortable shoe, sad to have to send them back.

I got my regular size (6.5)and they were pressing down on the top of my foot slightly. Toe box was just a tad too narrow for me. I ordered a 1/2 size up (7) and it resolves the issue, but the show now felt too long and my foot was lifting out.
These are nicely made, with big arches and a firm footbed. Sturdy and solid without being too heavy. I have wide toes and a narrow heel. Flat to average arch. These just didn’t work for me.

A little stiff compared to another pair of Oboz Sawtooth shoes. Initially thought they may be too tight but after wearing them a few times they loosened up. Only shoes I can walk in they keep my knees pain free.

Shoe is as described and waterproof - even walking through a deep puddle! So that's great. Fit in length is ok. It's a VERY wide toe box though. I needed to get a gel insert to use and even with that, the laces are pulled tight. It would've been perfect if it came in a narrow size. That said, I'm keeping them because it's impossible to find good hiking shoes that are narrow.

I ordered the wide width and unfortunately it was a C instead of the normal D width. Can only wear them with lighter socks. Very sturdy shoe with lots of support.

Perfect fit and comfy right out of the box. Love the way these shoes hug my feet. My only disappointment is the boring/bland color selection.

These hiking boots are beautiful! The materials seem very high quality, the fit is very good, if slightly narrower than I need. I love how tall I feel in them! You put them on and your like "hell yeah, I'm super gnarly!"
But, I will not be keeping them. They seem like boots for a much more serious hiker than I. They are stiff, which may be good for long distances? but seemed like overkill for the kind of day hikes I do. I'll look for Trail runners by Oboz, though- seems like a quality brand!

These were nice. They appeared true to size, supportive and sturdy. However, for my foot the area across the ball of the foot was just a little too narrow, so they are being returned. I came very close to keeping them, however.

These shoes will work great for hiking - but they come untied VERY quickly while wearing, unless I double tie them. A bit frustrating.

I adored my 3 year old Sawtooth Oboz - super comfortable, nice and wide for my toes, good looking - but this newer generation does not fit the same. There is still a lot of room in the forefoot, but the shoe felt larger as a whole. Not longer in length but just bigger around. It has too much room across the top of my foot. It looked and felt clunky even with thick socks. I thought at first I was sent the wrong size or perhaps a wide size but . . . I might try the Bridger as it is suppose to run a little more narrow. I wish shoe companies would not change a winner.

I gave these a try because they were described as having a wide toe box. They do, unfortunately, it's just not enough for my wide feet. They were too cramped with hiking socks on. This shoe comes in a Wide width, which I think will be perfect, but Zappos doesn't carry that version. The length seemed true. Other brands I've tried on, required going up half size. I wear 8.5 in regular shoes and the 8.5 in these felt right. Other than the width issue, I really liked how stable they felt. I'm definitely on the hunt for the Wide version.

These fit me fine with thin socks, but I want them for colder weather so I'm returning and will probably purchase a larger pair to try later in the year. They had terrific support. I chose to keep a different pair of shoes, but I had to really consider what I needed. I would have kept these if it were closer to fall/winter.

The least bad of the hiking shoes I tried. Made them work fairly well by replacing the insole with one cut down over the arch on the last.

Although Zappos comparison guide with my last pair of hiking shoes (Salomon) was positive, these are much narrower.

This shoe is super sturdy but the arch support is problematic. I have good arches and the arch support is both too high and in the wrong place. I also ordered a 1/2 size up and while the shoe fit better the arch was still a problem so have to return.

These are really narrow. I tried both medium and wide width and didn't notice a difference. The wide was too narrow for me and I never wear a wide width shoe. Other than that, they seem like they would be great.

Pros: Nice solid sole. Cons: An obnoxious lump inside the shoe, right above the tip of the front toe, shortens the effective length of the shoe, rubbing the toe in a way which would be excruciating on a long walk. This is a design error: two overlapping pieces of leather stitched together form the lump. Also, cutesy ribbon-like loops, instead of metal grommets, makes loosening and tightening the laces a nail-breaking hassle. The fancy insoles were agonizing, with arch way too far back in the shoe. I'd have to spend another $60 for a pair that works for my feet. Disappointed. Sent them back.

I wanted to like these- theyre beautiful, sturdy boots but they felt really uncomfortable and tight. I wasnt convinced that goin up a half size would work either, unfortunately.

When I first put these on, I thought they were going to be great. I liked how snuggly they hugged the heel, making them feel very secure. As I wore them a while, however, I realized they were too tight in the metatarsal midfoot area. Loosening the shoestrings didn't help. As much as I wanted to like this shoe, they just didn't have enough width through the big toe joint area. They are called C width, instead of D, so I guess I'm not overly surprised. Make a D width, Oboz!
