My 8 year old loves his shoes but the laces are horrible. We had the shoes just under 2 weeks and the clear plastic piece at the end of the laces came off and now the one lace is completely apart. As a mom, I am not happy spending money on waterproof hiking shoes that have a poor product like shoe laces.

Ordered a size 12 for my son. These are way too small. Probably closer to an 11. He wears a pair of Moab size 11.5 that fit him just fine.

I love these shoes, I actually bought two pair, but they lasted for less than a year. The sides blew out on both pair and the waterproofing did t last very long.

This pair has very low arches. They also give me me callouses (near ankle) after wearing for two weeks. Will not purchase again.

I bought these a month ago for my 5 year old son. I purchased the wide option and they were too tight for his feet. In my opinion Merrell shoes run narrower than other brands. Because I really liked them I tried them on my son at home for several days at different time of the day. Time went by and I missed the return deadline. Not I'm stock with a brand new pair of shoes....

Shoes fell apart the first time my child wore them. By far the worst investment in Merrells I've ever had.

My son has had the Merrell Moab shoes for 6 weeks. This site will only let me post one photo, but it give you a good idea of how they've literally fallen apart. He's only worn them about 4 times per week since he's had them to school only. We have not been hiking or camping with them or sports. He's an active kid, but that shouldn't matter if they were well made. They are not waterproof either. He runs through wet grass and has wet socks. Needless to say I'm very disappointed in these shoes. Definitely didn't get what I paid for. His Asics and New Balance are much better shoes and about the same price. Save your money on these. I can only imagine how horrible they would be on our backpack and camping trips.
