I'm not an expert hiker by any means but was looking for a hiking shoe for short day hikes. These fit the bill perfectly. Excellent traction, super comfortable, and pretty decent breathability in 90+ degree heat. Plus they don't look like clown shoes on someone like me with skinny legs. Highly recommend.

Few days of use and able to feel the difference from other brands. Making my new shoes the favorite ones. True color, true size, great garb.

Comfortable, functional and fashionable as an outdoor shoe can get. Feels like a good breathable, lightweight shoe. I have the Fairbanks boot and when I saw the shoe I had to have it! Only con being the shoe laces are long. Now, where's the trail?

No need for any break-in. I wore them on some mild hikes, and they were extremely comfortable.

I needed a comfy shoe in black and this was just what I was looking for. The entire shoe has plenty of cushioning and feels like wrapping your feet in pillows. The one thing I would recommend to improve the shoe is the tongue. It too has plenty of cushioning and so its somewhat narrow so it doesn't overlap with the shoe beyond the laces. I've got a bit of a fat foot and the tongue isn't quite wide enough and there are a couple spots where I can see my sock when I'm wearing them. Not a big deal but figured it should be mentioned.

Shoes are exactly what I wanted. They look great with jeans or shorts. Very comfortable and extremely durable!

I originally bought the insulated Fairbanks boot for the winter in North Dakota. Let me tell you, in the coldest part of the lower 48 in U.S., the boots didn't disappoint. With an average of 50 days per year in sub-zero temperatures, I was skeptical, but they fit like a athletic shoe, but warm as a pair of ice boots. So when i saw the low top Fairbanks, I knew I had try them out. They are definitely my go-to shoe for this spring and summer. Trust me, you won't have any regrets with this purchase!

These shoes have been great for taking my dog on walks everywhere from neighborhood streets to overgrown trails. They look great and feel incredible; the right amount of cushion without adding a ton of weight. They were slightly small for me, I'd probably order a half size larger next time.

This shoe is true to size and very comfortable. Rugged design and very stylish. Definitely recommend!

Right out of the box the shoes were perfect. They fit perfectly and were immediately wearable. My feet were never uncomfortable or hurt during the "break in period" unlike many shoes I have had. The traction on them is great for a dirt trail and they are comfortable walking on pavement as well. I kind of want to but a second pair in a different color.

I bought this because of the deep lug sole. These are perfect for mountain biking as the lugs dig into the pedals keeping your feet secure and prevent slipping which could be disastrous.

I'm a pretty consistent Merrell fan. I've got many of their shoes & swear by them. Came across these Fairbanks shoes & liked the way they looked so I bought a pair. First hike, about 10 miles, & these were awesome. No break in needed, super comfortable, run a hair large on size, excellent traction, & durable. After their first hike I was not even close to done...felt like I did a little walk. I was just blown away. Any other trail/hiking shoe I've worn has been comfortable but I always finish knowing I hiked. These are vastly different than anything I've worn before. I'm about a dozen good hikes in (between 4 & 12 miles) & they show no sign of wear or bad construction. A little dust off & they're ready to wear everywhere. I'm not kidding...I bought 3 more pairs after a few hikes.

the shoe sizing is spot on, and very comfortable wearing at my work. There's a decent amount of support in the heel also.

This is my second pair of Columbia shoes. I wear them almost everyday. Last pair lasted two years and hopefully these ones will, too. Very comfortable and look great with jeans or shorts.

Great shoe for almost everything you need to do. Boat to hiking. Great looking. I received many compliments. Many thought they were military issued.

This is my first pair of Columbia shoes I've ever bought. They are truly one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. Quality, durability and lightweight are the only three words I can use to describe these. If you looking for a comfortable multi-purpose shoe you can't go wrong with these Fairbanks Low shoe!

These shoes are true to size and very comfortable. They have turned into my everyday shoe.

My husband is so picky with his footwear and he loves these shoes. He has to always have the perfect function to feel to appearance ratio. This shoe meets all his criteria. I am ordering him a back up pair now because, he is worried to ever live without these shoes.
