Salomon's quality is second to none. For example, their overlays are welded to the fabric unlike the majority of other companies who simply put the overlays on top of the fabric and adhere them to the fabric which is a much less expensive and less durable option; so, you can't go wrong with Salomon quality. While I found them true to size since I wear a 10.5 in the overwhelming majority of other major brand and the 10.5 is a good fit for proper length and overall width; but, I would say that Salomon has a slightly more narrow fit and slightly lower volume overall in the area of the instep when compared to some other brands like Saucony. The heel cup in this model is slightly lower in height than some other brands which doesn't give you that Locked-In feeling even though it doesn't slip excessively it just doesn't feel as tight as some other brands or when compared to their odyssey shoe; so, you feel the tendency to slightly over tighten the laces in an attempt to keep the heel cup from moving but this in no way causes your heel to move or slip excessively. I found the toe box to have good space and it doesn't crowd your piggies. If you do your research, don't take my word for it, you will find Salomon puts more $ into their midsole and outsole due to the type of materials they employ. The PU, polyurethane, they utilize is far superior in durability, reliability, shock absorption, rebound and it doesn't pack over time like EVA does. With that said, you would not consider this shoe to be a max cushion shoe even though it has very good heel to toe stack height but it will have a very, very good combination of cushioning and rebound but this superlative quality difference does come with a cost and if your not looking for the overall value of these particular benefits then the price point may be more difficult to justify but I can assure you that there are other brands with far inferior quality and durability and some cost more and some cost less but few compare to the material composition of the upper, midsole and outsole's level of overall performance that delivers mile after mile like Salomon. Shoes fit outstanding. The left foot is perfect. Right foot is slightly low on heel, but while running feel is great.
