More comfortable that their competitors. Comfortable and great soles for hiking. They look nice and seem to wear well. They also dry fast. Like other open shoes like these it is easy for sand to get in. I am very happy with them.

I loved these shoes right out of the box. They were very comfortable. But, I purchased them to fish in when the weather and water are warm enough. I expected I'd get rocks in them that I'd have to get out but the insole, which has litttle holes in it held small, very sharp Little Rock's. I would not recommend using them in water with small rocks or sand. I won't be able to use these as I had needed them.

I have bought Merrell boots and summer water shoes from Merrell for many years. Due to having issues with my feet I have found Merrell to be the most comfortable and supportive for my feet. I must say that the choprock water shoes are the least comfortable I have ever gotten. They do not support my feet at anywhere near the level I am used to from Merrell.

They run extra large I got a 1/2 size larger to wear seal skinz socks and still larger than needed, also laces are difficult to use and have to tie them up even more after pulling them tight. Still a very nice and rugged shoe for trail and jogging on the beach who's is what I use them for. Yes I like them and will keep them until they ware out

Shoes were very hot. Not sure if it was the material or the design. Also, the size was inconstant. The 10 was too small. 10 ½ too big. I opted for the Keane
I'd also recommend:
Keane.

These shoes are great when used as a water shoe however they are not comfortable for use as an everyday sandal.

I use the Choprock Shandal to wade fish in Vermont rivers. The grip on slippery rocks is phenomenal ! The major problem is that stones get inside the shoe and they uncomfortable. I am going to get the Choprocks as they keep stones out. Wish I had purchased them the first time around.

Was really looking for something to replace my Keens, but these won't be the solution. Very awkward to have a removable insole for a sandal/shoe hybrid like this as the insole pops out almost every time you take them off.

I've been wearing Merrell's for many years and my last two pair have been the biggest disappointments. My Choprocks soles are coming loose in a number of places and I've only had them a few months. Most of the wear is just to work, so I can only imagine if I'd been hitting the trails hard. I was super excited with their fit and comfort when I recieved them, but my enthusiasm is fading fast. Merrell's are generally rated as a good lower cost shoe, but I'd rather pay more for a shoe that would hold together. What happened to stitching soles of shoes on? I guess I'm old school but I count on my shoes lasting more than a year or two.

I bought these shoes for a job I have as a kayak guide. My feet get wet everyday at work. I notice these seem to take forever to dry out and as a result release a odor after a day or two of use. The insole padding always slides out when I take mine off. Just seems like it should be glued in rather than just resting in the shoe.

I got these to replace my 5 year old Merrell All Out Blaze Sieve sandals. In all, it's my 5th pair of Merrell's. With every pair before, it was like putting on a wonderfully broken in shoe that fit perfectly every time. With these, my god, it was absolutely crushing my foot . Same size as I always get, the length is perfect but so, so very tight. I don't have even remotely large feet either. Decided to take them for a walk around the block anyway to see how stretchy they were, but came back with numb toes and the back of my heel torn up. Returned immediately. Disappointing, as I love all my other Merrell shoes.

This is not as comfortable as ASICS. The cushion is not as sufficient as the my ASICS shoes.

Chose these over some competitors as they were comfortable and I liked the look. Unfortunately every time you remove the shoe the sole comes out with your foot and flops on the floor. Which requires you to have a straighten it out and put it back in the shoe every time you put it back on. I called Merrell and they said this is how it was designed so that you can dry it out if it get wet. Who the hell wants a shoes that the sole pops out every time you take it off? Sometimes I'm not always able to reach down to my shoes when I'm taking them off to catch the sole. I've had several of these type of shoes of the last 30 years and this is the first one that's done that. So I guess I'm either going to return these to the store I bought them or maybe use some gorilla glue to keep the sole in place.

This sandal will definitely hold up, drains well, and dries quickly but the design is terrible. Sand will quickly fill the holes in the insole and get stuck in the webbing under it making it tough to get out.

I really liked the looks and the first feel of the shoes but after 10 minutes walking it gave me horrible blisters in the back of my heel, I tried to break them in and try a couple of times because I really like the shoes but had the same outcome. Disappointing

I am not sure what type of mutant foot these are supposed to be designed for, but human does not appear to be the answer. I take a size 9 in virtually all footwear, including the 4 other pair of Merrells I currently own (and like very much!) So when I wanted these, I ordered a 9. They arrived and are so narrow, I could not get my feet into them, and they were cartoonishly long (about 3 inches). I then ordered a size 8.5, w/o returning the original size 9s. They were narrower, and longer!. In an attempt to find a size that fit me, I ended up ordering half sizes down to 7, which were finally the right length, but less than 3.5" wide. This is not for any normal foot. I ended up returning them all and buying a pair of Keens. I really like and prefer the design of these Merrells over the Keens, but I need them to fit.

I bought these shoes for my husband because he needed a shoe that he could wear to walk in water. He tried them out around the house twice - the first time he found them very uncomfortable. He wanted to give them a second chance so he wore them around the house again a week or so later and came to the same conclusion. My son has the same sized foot and tried them out and hated them. Unfortunately I've missed the return date so we're stuck with them.

Good arch support, hugs the foot. However, there is stitching that runs straight down the middle of the heel. After wearing these shoes for 1/2 day around town and trying different degrees of tightening the shoes, the stitching in the heel area has rubbed my heels raw. I currently own 6 pairs of merrell shoes and this is the first time I've bought a pair of shoes from merrell that hurt my feet.
