A sandal that fits and provides support like a shoe and yet can get wet. Cannot be beat. Merrell does a great job.

These sandals are great right out of the box. The toe is protected, moderate arch support and good slip resistance. Perfect for landscaping and lots of water.

It is a good shoe I bought them to play golf in them because of they have a great grip in the turf, do not care for the inserts but otherwise I like them. I also wear them off the course good to run around in

Bought a 9.5, but it fits like a 10. Beware of your sizing. Having to get an exchange.

I ordered a 10.5 which is what I normally wear in Merrell but these were WAY to big. After sending them back twice, each time for a smaller size, i finally got a 9 which fit. I don't understand the size difference when the other four pair of Merrell shoes are all 10.5. But the return process was super easy and fast and i will continue to buy Merrell shoes.

Absolutely love these shoes, well built and crazy comfortable. Only complaint is they seem to run huge! I've worn size 12 merrell boots for about 6 years now. When this came in in a 12, it was enormous on me. Sent them back for an 11 and they fit much better, though I kind of wish I had sent them bad for a 10.5 before wearing them around. Nonetheless, super comfortable and a great product. Just wacky sizing.

Well made. Snug & secure on my feet without strangulation. They are light and dry quickly . There are two things I DON'T care for . They do NOT flush pebbles or debris out well if you go full into a creek...When you remove the shoe and footbed insert, the perforations in the insert have pebbles or small patticles wedged in the holes....i have not decided whether I'm going to punch the holes larger or replace them with non-perforated inserts...

Merrell makes great shoes that last a long time. That is still true. Overall I expect a couple of good years from these which is no different than before. The grip on these is extraordinary and will be very useful in this summer's canoe camping experiences.
My only complaint is that they did not fit as expected. My other shoes are all the same size, so when I once again ordered a size 10, I did not expect that these would be both much longer, and much narrower than any of my other Merrells. But they were. I ended up going a half size down, so that they would fit the length of my foot. Unfortunately, they are now much narrower than I'd like. I'm going to just go with them, as I think that overall, they will be a good, serviceable shoe.

I have a real thin foot, so ANY well fitting shoe is difficult to find.
These tighten up almost perfectly for me .the insides do come out if your sweaty or wet when your taking them off. No real happy about that.

enjoy wearing the shoes and perform as expected. One complaint is the length of the laces, TOO LONG. Before tightening them the length of cord is about right but once you tighten, it become too long and I have to loop it around the laces a couple times so they are not flopping around.

I've been a proud owner of Merrell Blaze Sieve for 4 years, alas they're pretty worn out after almost daily wear. They are by far my favorite pair of shoes for the last 20 years. BUT Merrell discontinued them. If they didn't sell well it was because of the color selection. Anyway, here is my review of the closest thing to their replacement, the Choprock Sieve.
I was looking for more of a sandal than shoe, so this is fine for the wet hiker and a cooler choice of shoe with holes on the side and a more cushioned, tennis shoe like sole with some kind of air foam which will not wear or last as well as the solid Vibram sole on the Blaze. The tread seems as it will give more traction which is good, but comfort wise the Blaze had much more and thicker neoprene lining and strong sandal like heel strap. The Choprock has a reinforced plastic heel In back with a plastic strap which makes it more solid feeling as a shoe rather than Sandal. Also the neoprene lining seems to be thinner which provides less cushion and makes me worry about blister rubbing on the back of the heel. We shall see and perhaps it will flex more over time as the shoes break in. We shall see, but it is not the instant comfort and cushion of the thick neoprene that the Blaze had.
The Choprock Sieve also comes with a removable insole which is ok, but seems to stick to the bottom of the foot and restricts airflow cooling to the foot. And if you remove it, the airflow is better but there is some synthetic cheese grater on the bottom with no padding, I don't see how these can be worn comfortably without the insole which again makes it more shoe than Sandal.
I will give it to Merrell in the looks fashion category this time with the Choprock, it is good looking and the color selection it less, shall we say... Unusual? So the shoe looks great, will provide good traction. I fear blisters but hopefully not with the plastic solid heel. Please bring back the Blaze for us sandal loving wearers. They are so comfortable, great in water, cool out of water, easy to put on with thick comfy neoprene. But give them the color and look of the Choprock or please just drop the hard heel and give us back the neoprene strap heel because DANG it was comfortable!
Thanks
A loyal Merrell customer

Replaced old travel / water / hiking shoes. Great shoe. If you own other Merrell's, the sizing is the same. Nice color. Lightweight. Glad they have heel strap. Sieve model no mesh openings - more air. Yes more sand, small rocks, debris get in but if you're in water its easier to get out. Still more protective than an open sandal. Sole is good, no sliding and still comfortable to walk the dog on unpaved / paved trails as well. The insert is a toss up though - good to take out and air out the shoe, but some times I wish it was an integrated piece - waterproof, fast drying, antimicrobial / anti fungal. I would say the toe box feels just a hair narrower then all of my trail gloves or other Merrell's, but still comfortable. Hope to have these for many travels.

Put them on in the morning and forget about it. On the grass, in the boat, on the beach, and run to town. The shoe does all and dries quick.

I usually wear size 13 but this shoe runs big. The Zappos site suggested size 13 so I tried that first. I ended up exchanging for a size 12 which fits perfect (they don't make size 12.5). Save yourself some hassle and order a size smaller than normal. Otherwise the shoe is great. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the sizing inaccuracy.

I really like those shoes. They do tend to get stuff stuck to the bottom, but easy to clean.

I have been wearing these shoes for a couple days and love how comfortable they are. However, I am not too sure if I'd be interested in using them on a hike. Like the other reviewers on here, I have noticed my heel is a bit exposed and there is some mild rub on them. For quick jaunts to the beach, but for a 5 mile slog through mud and water...I will have to be more confident in the shoe before I do that. But otherwise, these are very comfortable shoes, and I am very happy with the purchase. I went a half size down from what I normally wear, and they fit like a glove. I wonder if there is like some kind of sock or buffer you can wear with these to make them more heel friendly? Not sure...

Purchased at the beginning of the summer and thought I would wait a bit prior to submitting review.
For the first week or two on longer walks (2 hours on a paved trail around a lake I do once a week), my toes were a bit cramped, even caused a minor blister from two toes rubbing against one another the first time out. But the shandal loosened up nicely and they now fit perfect.
I wouldn't recommend them for trail walking due to stones and sand getting in them pretty easily. But I have never had a sandal where that wasn't a problem and actually, these are better than all the others in that respect. Maybe because of the incredibly thick tread. And yes, the insole pops out very easily when you take them off. On the other hand though, zero odor after wearing them for three months in hot summer weather.
Checking out the sole/tread, so far minimal wear, and I walk a heck of a lot.
All in all, after three months of heavy use, I'm very glad I chose these over other competitors. They function exactly as I was hoping.
