I ordered an 8M because I noticed in the reviews others had mentioned this type of shoe run larger than normal But still to big. I think I need to exchange them for a 7 1/2. I also got blisters on my ankles. Maybe because they were to big. Although I used them once, will I be able to exchange them for a small size?

I was excited to get these at the beginning of summer. Sadly they were way too big. I ordered a pair of hiking boots at the same time, and they fit great, these were a good inch longer than the boots. I will try a size down if I can find them locally in a store.

These shoes are wonderful quality. However, I ordered a half size down and they are still too long. Also, they are very narrow and squeeze the sides of my feet. I wish they had a wide option. I usually wear a women's size 7. I got a 6.5 in these, I should have gotten a 6. A 6W would have been perfect. The heel part also runs quite a bit and hurts. Not sure I will be able to wear them for my upcoming hiking adventure which is a bummer.

I normally wear a size 5.5 and know to get a size 5 in sandals. I bought these in a size 5 and they fit larger than my other shoes I bought. If you tighten up the strings too much, it makes the shoe look funny.

I feel this would have been great shoes if they catered to half sized folks like me. I ordered down a size as suggested and just enough too small that I had to return and the next size would be too big. Big bummer for me

The fit was - weird. The back of the heel felt like it was folding everytime I took a step, and I did not like the look once I got them.

I purchased these in the same size as every other pair of Merrells I've ever owned, but they were a bit big. I decided to keep them because I worried that in the summer heat, the next size down might be uncomfortable. When wearing them just a few hours of walking they were great, as for an entire day of just puttering about. I loved them for walks along rocky river beds and woodland trails. BUT, towards the end of the summer I tried walking in them all day long at a theme park and I don't know if it was because they were a bit too big, but at then end of the day I had over a dozen blisters across my toes and the balls of my feet all in the same exact pattern as the holes in the insoles! Luckily, they were not painful as a heel blister can be, but it did make me leery of wearing them for all day journeys afterwards.

I just got these shoes after lots of research on what would be the best shoes for when I go on a 2 week Grand Canyon river trip this summer. I need something that allows me to hike in wet conditions, sandy beaches, rocky areas, and that has some protection against sun, dropping heavy things, and rocks. Sadly, I'm disappointed to report that even though I ordered a couple sizes smaller than what I usually wear, these shoes are still too big. I might keep them anyway because (1) I already ordered the smallest size these come in, (2) I really need some river shoes, and (3) maybe I can wear socks or something that will make them fit better.

Having tried 2 pairs, and adjusting down to size 8M -- comfortable and perfect width/length wise -- my feet simply will NOT adapt to these shoes. Blisters, blisters, blisters, and nothing to be done about it (including exchanging them). Very disappointed, as I have worn many pairs of Merrells for years on end with absolutely no problem. Wish I could get my money back, or at least exchange for another type of shoe.

They were too narrow (tight) and were not true to size. I ordered an 8 and they felt they were about an 8 1/2.

The quality of craftsmanship on this water shoe is everything I expected from Merrell. Materials, stitching etc. are on point. What I didnt expect was for my wife to have blisters form at three different spots (per foot) within an hour of wearing them without even making it to the water. They are true to size and were sinched tight to prevent foot movement inside shoe while walking. The initial comfort level of these particular shoes are low because of this. She had to discard them and wear flip-flops during our outing due to the amount of discomfort. Buyers need to know that this particular shoe needs a break-in time.

I love my Merrell boots, and thought this would be a great option opposed to wearing my wader boots for working in aquatic environments. I am a field biologist, working in aquatics so this happens often, sometimes around 3 times a week or more. The soles felt great and the shoes were awesome for the first 15 mins of hiking, after that they left terrible blisters at the top of the back of my ankles due to how tight the elastic ring is. I thought maybe they just needed to be stretched out, this was not the case. I am going to try cutting them, but I would say size up from whatever your regular Merrell size is or opt for a different aquatic shoe. If it was not for the elastic top being so tight, it would be a great shoe.

These have great traction which I love and I like how lightweight they are and the pretty colors. The problem is they rubbed giant blisters on the backs of my ankles even taking off skin with just one walk on an easy paved trail. I thought about buying water sticks but that defeats the entire purpose. I wanted my feet to stay cool and enjoy the water when walking through creeks and streams on hikes but they're just too painful in the back. The tiny holes in ther insole also left really weird tiny little sores all over the bottoms of my feet. Im still paying these off with afterpay but won't even get to use them.

I really wanted to like these sandals. But the fit of these sandals are all wrong for me. Too long and loose in the heal. I have worn and really liked other styles of Merrells so I was confident that the sandals would be no different but I was wrong. If I could return the sandals I would but unfortunately I have worn them outside.

Like a previous reviewer, I have been a long time fan of All Out Blaze with two well loved and worn pairs. I bought these thinking they were the replacement and while the insole, sole, and toe box seem improved, the seam along the back started to give me blisters after just 10 minutes.

The shoes were very hot just wearing around the house.
The lacing made one foot go numb.
Wanted a pair with closed toe that also provided good support; these are better than comparable Keens but still very little support.
Sending back.
Will stick with Tevas which lasted for 8 years of hard walking!
I'd also recommend:
Merrell (except for these) Teva

I love these shoes. They are perfect for the hiking I do. But they are killing my heels. I tried a smaller size seeing if that would help and it just rubbed a blister in a different spot. I have owned two pairs of All Out Blaze Sieve that I loved. These have better grip and cushioning but I am afraid I will not be able to "break them in" so that my heels ever don't blister.

Despite the openings, even on relatively cool days (low 70's) my feet were as hot as if they were in full sneakers.
I wore them only a short while, as they arrived (new, from Merrell, not a secondary site) with obvious defects to 2 of the vent holes on the left shoe. When they were so hot, the decision was clear to return them.

I usually wear a size 8 in athletic shoes and sandals, but--after waiting for these for 3 months--I was really disappointed to find they run at least 1 full size (possibly 2!) large. It's ridiculous!

These are awful shoes. I would give negative stars if possible. I wore them for 15 minutes and my heals were bleeding from the stiff friction causing back.
I bought these shoes for work and I'm heartbroken they are so bad.

I based the size that I bought off of a previously owned pair of Merrells. The size runs a little big based on my previous pairs. My 1 star review is because 3 times now I have waited on hold on the 800 line for approximately 30 minutes, and when I finally was off hold, the phone rang and there was silence on the other end. There is also no email for me to contact and the chat never has anyone on it. I'm probably just going to return 3 of the 5 pairs of shoes that I bought

I have acquired several products of the brand in my country (Uruguay) in a satisfactory way and in accordance with the quality. It is the first time that I buy on the web in the USA and the size did not result according to the measurement table or in relation to my other footwear of the brand; In fact I can't use them. As I am in Uruguay, making the change costs me as much as buying them again. I think it was a lost purchase.

So sorry to say these completely missed the mark for me. I work in a county park and am in and out of the lake all day long. I found the shoes to harbor so much sand and debris that they blistered my heels so badly I had to wear them stepping on the back of the shoe. Then that abraded my heel so badly I had to buy other shoes. I think the closed heel cup keeps in too much detritus. That heel cup also is very rigid and has a few seams of stitching that wrecked my heel. Additionally, the perforated insole ends up being a torture trap for sand particles to torment the sole of the foot. I tried so hard as a loyal Merrell fan to love these, but they were honestly painful. Perhaps ok in a low debris wet environment, not much sand, etc - or if you already have iron-clad feet. Sorry Merrell :(

I ordered half a size down, but they were still big. the soles were heavier than expected. The inside felt stiff. Man made materials. I felt like I had chunks of plastic on my feet. Right heel pressed in and hurt. I really wanted to like these shoes, but had to return...
