I absolutely love the vapor gloves and have been running in them for 3 years. When I first saw the new model, I was still running in the 3's but thought I would get a pair of the 4's for when I ran my other pair out. After my first run in the 4's (an easy 1.5 mile run), I noticed that the shoes were a lot stiffer than my previous pair and caused me pain in my knees and hips. Going to go back to the 3's.

I am an avid long distance runner and lover of merrells shoes. I have purchased a variety of merrells vapor glove, trail glove, and other barefoot shoes. A lot of them seem to have the same issue, the sole coming apart from the side of the shoe.
I am sad to say less than a week out of the box the vapor gloves I ordered did the exact same thing!

This is my first time trying barefoot shoes. I wear a size 8 in every shoe I buy, but these were way too small (both too tight and not long enough). Even though they felt too small when I tried them on, I wasn't sure if they were supposed to fit tightly, as I am new to this type of shoe. After a walk in them, I wanted to exchange them for a bigger size because my toe hits the front of the shoe every time I take a step and my feet feel very constricted on the sides. Now that I've worn them though, I can't exchange/return them and I'm really hoping they stretch out because they were pricey.

I ran through 3 pairs of Vapor Glove 3 and needed a new pair. Sadly, this new style doesn't fit the same. The toe box is wider and overall the shoe fits sloppy. Ive worn the same size in every Vapor Glove made thus far, so i can't say this fits true to size. The laces are extremely stretchy and stretched out just trying to lace them tighter. I will say the gray/red ones are very pretty, but have to be returned.

Poor quality. Smaller than comparable Merrill of better quality. I was attracted by the lower price. Confirms the adage, "You get what you pay for".

I purchased a pair of these a few years ago, LOVED the feel and the fit. One shoe wore out just above the rubber sole on the side of the big toe knuckle. I continued to wear them as they were expensive and they were the only runners I had. After the tread wore out, thinking that the hole was perhaps just a glitch in the fabric, I bought another pair. After wearing them twice, the fabric is beginning to wear at the same spot as the other one. I've purchase a LOT of runners in my 60 years, and have never experienced this problem. (No I do not have a bunion or something similar to wear out that particular spot.)

I just love these shoes. Have 3 pairs and they are my favorite everyday pair. Bought my first pair around 6 years ago. And have loved them every sense.

I was very disappointed with these low quality shoes
These shoes look like something from the Dollar Store.
Tongue has raw edges (not bound). Decorations are heat pressed plastic (not sew on).
Even the shoelaces look cheap.
The previous pair I bought lasted for years, decorations stripes and logos were sew on, the tongue was bound.
I was hoping for the same high quality.
I have not worn them yet, because I can't decide whether to toss them or return them.
Sorry, but thanks for reading my complaint.

I wanted to like these shoes. I researched for a while trying to find the my next pair of great shoes. These were not it. While the rest of the shoe fit, the toe box was strangely large. I've worn other barefoot running shoes and consistently choose shoes with very little drop or support. These shoes caused strain on my ankles and knees. On downhills, the shoes consistently caused pain that ran up my calves and hamstrings up to my tailbone. I've never experienced this kind of pain before while running and run fairly regularly in other minimalist shoes. I do not have any persisting injuries or other issues. I cannot continue to run in these shoes.

The process of trying to exchange these shoes and contact Merrell support is such a nightmare. Not worth the purchase.
