The mid cross pulls holding the laces are not as well designed as the previous model. They pull up form the heel, the previous styling pulled more on the back of the shoe for a better, snugger fit.

I just purchased my third pair of these the first two pairs I walked 2000 miles in each pair. But it's with the help of a few tubes of Shoe Goo. They aren't really water tight but l walk in Nevada so not much of an issue. The round laces never stay tide so they have to go right away. Never a sore foot or blister ever.

Excellent boots, but tried them on once and realized they are way too big. While all my other merrell boots fit and function flawlessly, these are just way too big.

Took it for a 6 miles hike, so far very comfortable and feels very sturdy. Time will tell if it ll hold up in the next few months. If it does, I ll definitely buy it again.

I have worn these more since, but the very first day I wore them I stepped into a 3" deep slush puddle (yes, in June!). There was no wetness at all. Too many boots these days (including my other Merrells) claim to be waterproof but are actually hydrophilic. I was on a rescue call miles off-road, so I was very happy to be warm and dry on the way home.
Since that day, these boots have been completely comfortable and not too hot in the 80 degree days that followed. Living in the mountains, I wear boots every day and they get a lot of challenges. So far these are great.
The only drawback is that over half the eyelets are cloth. Not the ones that get the most wear, but over half. Cloth eyelets are the leading cause of failure for my footwear, including my other pair of Merrells. I tried Merrell after another brand's eyelets kept ripping, and my other pair has almost worn through in less than a year.

I bought these boots to replace an "older" model pair of Phaserbound boots that could no longer continue to function. I wear them five days a week while working outdoors for a county metropolitan park district. The boots are extremely comfortable. They keep my feet dry and warm while working in a variety of wet and muddy conditions. The only issue I've found in eight months of use is a very minor separation along the edge of the right boot, but they continue to perform at a very high level.

I've had these boots for a few months now and so far they are great. I purchased them for small and big game hunting in Colorado. Took them on a mule deer hunt in the foothills and they worked great. I've also been using them small game hunting walking through frosted grass and icy marshes and they work great keeping my feet comfy and dry. They provide great ankle support and are warm and very comfortable. I do wish they were a bit taller and were easier to really crank down the top lace but that's a minor point. My only surprise with these was they they seem to run a half size too big. It's not an issue but something to note.

For how comfortable and lightweight these boots feel, they have good support and sturdiness. The hard plastic on the back heel is a nice touch for the rougher treks and the leather/rubber reinforcements lend to its sturdy feel while keeping the weight and clunkiness manageable

They appear to be bonded leather and not full grain. Otherwise good looking boot. Would have kept except I need full leather uppers.

These boots are not true full grains leather. This appears to be bonded leather, or in other words the leather will deteriorate and peel within a year. I can’t justify spending $125 on a pair of boots for just a year of use.

Good boot, but not alot of ankle support. I have skinny legs so maybe if a person was thicker ankled. Good grip. Front boot plastic falling off after 8 months of monthly use.

Looks good and feels good, I don't like the lace were the logo strap is, that moves in and out to help get your foot out.

This is a comfortable boot and is in fact water proof. The only downside is that the heel makes so much noise. It come from part of the structure and not the insole. I have tried to add powder and even cut it open to try and make it quite. It is so loud that I have a hard time wearing them on hikes or hunts. I cannot give a recommendation for these boot because of this fact.

I am on my fourth pair of Phaserbound boots. I stick with them because they are the best fit I can find for my narrow low volume feet. Most boots are way too wide for me. First two pairs the vertical seam at instep failed and I had a local boot repair sew an external patch to hold the split seam together. But the weakest links in all my Phaserbounds are the web lace loops - they break and there is no repair. The constant friction between the lace and the web loop, plus abrasive trail grit, wears the web loop out far faster than the rest of the boot. Replacing broken laces is easy. Replacing the web lace loop is impossible and ends the life of the boot. Merrell could add a transition piece to the lower lace webs, like they have on the 5th spot, and solve this problem. Always stayed dry hiking on snow and boggy places, even with the patches sewn through the waterproof liner. Would prefer a narrow width option and a smart solution to the lace loop failures.

These boots are the replacement shoe for your past Peak Phaser you discontinued. The Peak Phaser was the best shoe I ever had. I have purchased over 50 pair in the last 30 years before you all discontinued them. Bring them back!

Pretty good boots, They are a little warm for anything over 75 degrees, but keep my feet warm down to 25 with the right socks. Very comfortable right out of the box, I use these for spot and stalk hunting in the pan handle of Texas and I'd say they are holding up fair at best. They arent a high dollar boot and I think ill get 2 seasons out of them

I do not like the changes made to the Phaserbound boot. I had two previous pairs, and they were great. The tongue on the new version is too large and too high.

I this boot fits everything I need it for. I have worn it hunting this season and has met all my needs. It's comfortable but a little bit clunky and heavy.

I'm a letter carrier always looking for good boots. These are good quality boots, but the sole is very stiff and hurts might feet after a few hours. I'm not sure if it's the vibram sole or what.

I bought this two months ago for my husbandthey are comfortable and and he has liked them except after wearing them twice, one of the eyelets by the ankle came out. It seems boots that are waterproof wouldn't have an issue so soon.

They aren't truly tall. There's more material on the ankle, but there are only two low set eyelet hooks at the ankle for lacing. No extra ankle support. Always liked Merrell but they are becoming the same as the other formerly hiking boot companies and losing traction.

Great hiking boot but as is the case with a previous pair of Merrell boots, one boot developed a bump in the sole beneath the ball of my foot that made walking around very uncomfortable. Had to abandon the pair
