I'm a kind of short, small lady (5'3, 120ish lbs.) with a decent amount of leg muscle, which can make finding well-fitting pants very difficult. I usually end up in the kids' section, but even the toughest "kid-proof" clothing ends up worn out too soon doing wildlife field research. After my favorite boys' cargo pants finally came apart at the seams, some of my coworkers recommended OR's Ferrosi pants as a good replacement. I decided to try my luck with these in size 2, and am so happy- they fit great! They're a tiny bit long on me, but not enough to be an issue, especially over work boots. These are hands-down the most comfortable pants I've owned, pajamas included. Although I originally bought them for field work, I end up wearing them to the office, class, rock climbing (the stretchy fabric is great for doing my usual short person/high step moves!), and just lounging around anytime they're clean. I was worried that the soft-shell fabric wouldn't hold up well, but so far so good, just a few small snags in the fabric from some hardcore bush-whacking. I will definitely be buying another pair of these as my old kids' cargo pants continue to wear out and need replacing.

Wore these pants for 3 days on el cap. So great to have pants that you can temperature control instantly, with the pant/short option. The fabric is light and flexible, feels like you're wearing pajamas, but rugged enough they didn't get beat up by the granite or light bushwhacking through manzanita. I'd love it if the 2 front pockets were deeper, but the side pocket with the zipper is awesome. Best converter pants I've ever had.

My entire group of friends is quickly converting to these pants. They're amazing. Hiking, climbing, snowga (snow+yoga), etc. Great stretch, great pockets, great warmth & breathability, etc. I've had these pants for about a month. The only time I'm not wearing them is when doing laundry. This week, my friend and I, who also has a pair, hiked up Whitetop Mtn, VA through ~2 feet of snow (w/o inc. drift). We both stayed warm and dry the entire time, even when the sun went down, the fog rolled in, the temperature dropped, and it started raining. I feel so confident in these pants that I'll be wearing them on the PCT from Mexico to Canada this year. ***Note: I'm usu. a size 8, bought a 6, could have gone smaller. They run pretty large, but they're a darn fine product. OR has good customer service, too.

In an ideal world, I'd wear Ferrosi bottoms all the time. They're like functional pajamas. I am, however, slightly disappointed by the circumference of the zip-off sections. I fit very comfortably in a size 10 in these, but if I bend my knees a lot (ankle to bum), the zipper cuts into my sturdy lady legs. I feel like pants for active women should better account for muscley legs.

Slim through the butt which is fine but panty line showed a lot more than Columbia Saturday (not convertible) which had similar slim fit My legs are not thick (they are athletic) but can feel the changing of the leg zipper, which is unfortunate. Didn’t feel that on the mountain hardware brand. Or an old version of the Columbia convertible pants

Runs a bit small in the waist. I normally wear an eight and I wear a 10 in these pants. I wore the eights a little snug in the waist for a few years and decided I'd rather have more room. These are well-made pants and hold up to rough surfaces a bit of scrambling, hiking and just strutting around town looking good.

I basically live in these pants almost all year round. Great for casual lounging, hiking, dog walking, gardening, you name it. Pocket is perfect size for a phone. Light enough to wear in the summer shorts, but work for winter as well.

I use these for backpacking, and I love them! Normally, I have issues with getting pants to fit BOTH my waist and my thighs. if the waist fit, too tight on thighs, if the thighs fit, I had inches of extra space in waist. But these actually fit both, and fit both well! love these, highly recommend them!

I love these pants! They are so comfortable! They are lightweight which I love when I'm hiking. I could always add a pair of light long underwear if I needed them for a colder time of year.

Better fit than the leggings....was hoping to get the leggings but they aren't for 5'3" and curvy.

I absolutely LOVE these pants! I am an environmental scientist so I spend summers crashing through the woods doing field work. This is the second pair of these pants that I bought, the first lasted me 5 field seasons and still only have one small rip from a sharp, broken branch. Honestly, I was looking for any excuse to buy another pair. The material is light, breathable, and flexible, perfect for hiking. The other really nice touch is the belt loops sit flat against your hips so they are comfortable under a backpacking waist strap.

So impressed with these pants. Not only did were they insanely comfortable, stretchy, and breathable for a hot humid day of climbing - but due to a timing error I ended up having to go directly from my multi-pitch climb to working an 8 hour night shift at the hospital with no change of pants. Let me tell you. These pants performed as some of the best scrubs I've ever worn. The fit is flattering, the stretch is amazing - they feel so light you almost forget your wearing pants. The mid-rise waist ensures they stay up and no plumbers crack whether you're high stepping a ledge or bending down to empty a catheter. They repel splashes (body fluids yuck!) and have a great thigh pocket for stashing small items (fits my android cell phone easily). So stoked on these pants! 10/10 would recommend. O.R. if you guys ever make ferrosi scrub pants I will be your first buyer!

I've purchased field pants from a variety of companies, but this is my new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! They're sturdy, seem well-made, great stretch and deep front pockets so that you won't lose anything on the go. Super happy with these!

These are fantastic hiking pants! Normally convertibles lack stretch but not these ones. Super comfy and light weight. Fit nicely. I am a 6 in OR bottoms and the 6 fit perfectly in these pants. Great product!

I use these pants for walking/hiking and they are literally the most comfortable pants for moving around that I've ever had. (I'm not bee ess-ing at all. They're legit!) No rubbing/chafing, water doesn't soak in, and they turn into shorts if I get too hot. Plus they're good for everyday wear.

I got these to replace the same pair that the convertible zipper had broken on. It is my 3rd pair, as I lost the first and I'm obsessed. They are the only pair of pants/shorts that I wear in the summer. Super comfortable and pretty durable, yet lightweight. True to size.

I bought these for hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. They are a perfect fit(size 0) and the fabric is light weight, drys quickly, & has some stretch. These are the first convertible pants that look good on- not blousy like clown pants!!

I love these pants so much I had to buy a second pair. I'm 5'2 and 120 and the size 4's fit perfect but had to hem the length. I wore these pants for 5 days on the Ptarmigan Traverse and they were amazing. I highly recommend these for multi-day hiking adventures.

I love these pants! I bought them for backpacking the West Coast Trail and have worn them on an overnight backpacking trip so far. They fit true to size (I measured myself and then consulted the size chart on the website) and are very comfy. The zipper around the legs is a bit tight (it has less stretch than the rest of the pants) but it still fits fine. I like the convenience of zipping off the legs in warm weather. :) I'll definitely get another pair!
