I use these pants for field work as im a wildlife biologist, but I also love them for climbing and hiking. The material is quick drying and wind resistant, but very light and breathable so I wear them in all conditions

I work as a fisheries biologist for the Forest Service in central Idaho. During Spring, Summer and Fall I spend a lot of time outside and in rivers. I love these pants. They are comfortable and versatile.
I just completed a three day, 28 mile trip that included sunny days and wet, rainy days. These pants were the bomb. They were soaking wet and within hours of hanging under a dry tree they were dry enough to wear the next day.
These have become my favorite work pants. They've fared well during this entire season, most of my gear doesn't last a full season. I'm buying another pair. Thanks OR!

I love the Ferrosi line. They are so lightweight and comfy. Easy to zip on and off the legs. But it's a little tight in the thigh, and I don't have very big thighs. I don't find it too uncomfortable but when you zip off the bottoms, the shorts fit light snug bermudas.

Bought these for a solo backpack in the Needles district of Canyonlands. Flexed with me and breathed well. Only wish they came in Tall/Long. I'm 5'8" and could use another inch or two in the inseam.

I'm a fan of convertible clothes and these pants are a great addition to my hiking/field work attire!
Pros:
- pretty easy to pull off pant legs without taking off shoes
- fits great for for my petite frame
- comfortable and water repelling fabric
- large side pockets, one secured with zipper
Cons:
- a bit tight at waist without a zipper/button closure (would be better with more elasticity in waistband)
- felt warm and not so breathable when hiking in 80 degree temps
- no back pockets

I'm totally obsessed with my ferrosi regular pants, so I decided to try the convertibles. Easy zip off/on and good length short. I withheld the last star only due to the fact that the pants are quite a bit more 'baggy' than my ferrosi regulars. I know they need some leeway for the zip, but I don't love how loose the legs fit compared to the ferrosi regular pants. Size 6 purchased, 5'4" 125.

These pants are flexible with a higher waist, which will be great for field work. The Ferrosi Convertible Pants manage to have both lightweight and sturdy/reinforced features. They fit true to size and maintain their waist size after a few wears, unlike other flexible field pants.

I got these pants right before a 6 day hike, and so they were put to use right away! It was great to order my size based on measurements on the website and have it fit as expected. These pants are super comfy, have great stretch and are breathable. I'll be sure to order more Ferrosi items!

I am a wildlife biologist and I've had these pants for about a month. I've only use them for fieldwork and I have to say that their stretchy fit and breathability is amazing. I'm always climbing inclined rocks or hills and I'm super sweaty, so when wearing other pants they always rub on my thighs. This pants don't rub on my skin no matter how sweaty I get and they don't stick on me making my job more comfortable. The only thing I don't like is that the waist stretches out, so they fall. I do use the drawstrings that are there so it minimizes the pants from falling. I also wonder about how strong they are because I go through a lot of brush and dead fallen trees. I hope they are durable because these are great pants. I would purchase again.

I did my measurements and looked at the sizing chart then bought size 6. The fit was okay, a tad loose around the waist but nothing the waist tie couldn't help. The issue was the zipper around my thigh for the convertible aspect. It was too tight and uncomfortable. I would say my leg size is pretty average so I was a bit surprised. It was so uncomfortable that I decided to forfeit the ideal fit around my waist and to size up and order the size 8. The only different I noticed between the size 6 and 8 was the waist was larger, to be expected of course. But the convertible zipper was the exact same! So disappointed. It's not comfortable at all. I would not recommend unless you have thin legs. Save yourself the discomfort and go with the regular ferrosi pants, I will be returning both the convertible sizes. Also, you have to pay for your own returns which kind of sucks.

Love these pants but converting to shorts is not functional. There are no leg zips to allow pants off/on without taking off your boots. And the cut is a bit too snug in the thigh to work as shorts.

I wore these pants on a hike and they were great. They're lightweight and dries quickly. The pants fit me almost perfectly except where the pant legs zip up to the pants. If I don't squat it's fine, but if I have to squat down like going to the bathroom outdoors, the pant leg zippers are too tight and is uncomfortable. I would give it 5 stars if it had a little bit more circumference around the thighs. The waist, hips, and length fit great. I got a size 4 and I am 5'4", 125lbs.

Looking for a replacement to my NF Paramount 2 pants I love so I tried these. I consider myself slim with wide hips. The pants were snug in the thigh and hips and was thin enough to show unflattering underwear lines. Fit more like unattractive zip-off leggings. :-( I miss the relaxed fit styles with heavier fabric for protection.
