I ordered seven pairs of hiking shoes from different brands and these felt the best. Only logged 4 miles so far but, so far so good.

They ran quite big and I was frustrated that I wore them while out of town not realizing that that would be the case.

I ordered a size larger than my normal shoe size. There is plenty of room for my custom insoles/orthortics. I think they are more cheaply made than the last couple of Salomons I have owned. I'm not hard on my shoes but think the fabric will not hold up. I had a serious ankle/foot injury some years ago and have a hard time finding shoes with enough cushion for that foot. These seem to be doing the job. I DO NOT like that the 'tongue' does not have a way to stabilize and keep it in the center. If slides to the outside on both left and right shoe.

Last year I got a pair of Keens, size 8 and they are too small. I've been debating with myself for a while and finally ordered these Salomons to replace them and they are great. I love Keen but the sizing is erratic. My only complaint is that there is really no arch support but I just put some insoles of my own in and they are perfect now. I walks every day in the Yorkshire Dales with my dogs so need sturdy and supportive footwear and these will be great for summer.

I thought these were going to be perfect.... I put them on and they felt great! Then I started wearing them around the house and found out they just weren't going to be the right fit for me :(. Once walking, the toe bed felt smaller, my toes felt jammed in the front; and then inner side of my foot felt squished, definitely would've gotten a blister if out for a hike.

I ordered this shoe because a pair of Salomon trail runners were very comfortable and were very durable. I ordered 1/2 size longer than my normal size as I had been advised to do when ordering my previous Salomons. Unfortunately these are cut very small by at least a full size in length and in width. Also, the tongue is so short, I can’t lace the last two holes. Otherwise, I like the color and the style. I cannot recommend them, nor will I buy another pair of Salomons.

These looked like they might have enough room in the toebox, but they do not. They are smaller and narrower than in the photos. The arch support was good, but must return.

Trying to replace an old fave Salomon for walking park trails...this one has a massive toe box, I would say too big, but the ankle support isn't amazing and the rest of the shoe seems to fit. It's close to what I want but I'll pay a little more for goretex and a better fit.

Liked the shoe, although not crazy about the pink accents. Arch support a little too far toward the heel for my foot, will return.

I’ve been trying different hiking shoes after wearing oboz for a few years. I wear a size 9 in most shoes and have a narrow foot. I felt like the tongue made this shoe fit very odd because it was short. The laces were also short. Overall this shoe didn’t fit me well and felt uncomfortable in a lot of places.

Not for me unfortunately. I ordered two different styles of Salomon shoes at the same time (XA Pro 3D V8 and X Crest) but will be returning this pair. They were a full size smaller than the XA Pro ( or the XA Pro was a full size bigger :-)). Also, the tongue seemed to stop short of where it needed to be and I could foresee it sliding off to one side after wearing the shoes for a bit. I had great hopes for this shoe, but decided to go another route.

I have to return these because they are too narrow and small for what they say is a 9. The arch support was adequate, but the pain from trying to get my feet into these was too much to give the arch support a true assessment.

Too short, too narrow, but does have good arch support.

tongue too short - when i lace it it wants to slip over the top of the tongue and onto the top of my foot.

I returned. The 2 shoes were definitely two different sizes. My feet are not that much different.

Too stiff

I loved the shoe except for the back which does is too low in the ankle. Why would you make a hiking boot that's has minimal support in the back. Couldn't get used to the feel of it and had to return.
