I know the pants are great but they run very small in the waist. Length works well.

I really wanted to love these pants. I own and absolutely love the Featherweight Hike pants, but they don't come in size 28. 30 waist is lowest (please change this Columbia). So I purchased these sight unseen from the website based on the description and the reviews saying they were lightweight and breathed well. The fit was perfect (Hey Columbia, make a 28 in all of your Pants, not all of us out door warriors are big), and I could tell they would be light and likely breath well. The thing I couldn't get over and returned them for being scratchy on the skin. This material is basically Rip-Stop Nylon and some Elastaine. Perhaps they soften up and are less scratchy against the skin, but wasn't going to go washing them to find out, there are better fabrics used by Columbia than this stuff. The fabric will certainly be durable, but they weren't for me. I really prefer the Featherweight Hike pant, but again, they need to make them in a 28 waist.
