I initially ordered my actual size, and they were too small as the other reviews had indicated, I sized up a 1/2 size and it felt fine at first but after a half a dozen runs the toe portion turned up like an elf shoe?, had to return

I returned these immediately. I have been wearing New Balance for years -- and always same size. I could not even get my foot into the shoe! Very disappointed.
