The Durand II boots have more leather and less fabric than the original Durand boots. They are comfortable enough, but not like the original Durand. The original version was as comfortable as shoes, while the Durand II feels definitely like you are wearing a boot (which it is). The Durand II leather is stiffer. It also lacks a loop to help you pull on the boot. On the plus side, the Durand II has metal loops for the shoe laces.

It's been a short and long journey with my Durand 2s. On my first pair, the exterior seam on my left boot failed after a 3 day hike into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (an admittedly extreme and rocky hike, but no more that 6 miles in 3 days. ) Do to my negligence, I waited more than a year to pursue warrantee and Keen kindly ignored their warrantee timelines and took care of me. Unfortunately the replacement Durands have not faired any better than my first pair, and Im repairing my fourth seam blow out. Unknown to me, my brother purchased a pair last year (2024) from Cabelas. After the same Black Canyon hike he returned them due to seam blowouts. The thread just simply does not holdup where the boot flexes.

Best pair of hiking boots Ive owned. They took about a month to fully break in and now theyre perfect. Ive put well over 1,000 miles on these in the alps of Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Norway, Washington, and Colorado and theyre in top shape. Couldnt ask for more!

I've had Durand Wide boots for many years. They are THE most comfortable shoes I own. I have taken them on vacation as my only pair of shoes/boots. Very comfortable. Great fit. Long lasting.

This is my second pair of Durands and they're just as comfortable and supportive as the first. Seems like they made a couple of changes from the first ones but for the better. We'll see in the long term.

I really like the hiking boot

Stitching in the toe area failed and instantly starting leaking after only 8 months. Also the leather is absolutely NOT waterproof. The first pair I got years ago were not either, so nothing has changed there. A split second under the faucet will prove to you that it just "wets-out" almost immediately, so you will should waterproof them yourself.

They wear well, last forever and are comfortable, they are my go to for hiking and hunting as well as shoveling snow, I love them.

Ive owned many pairs of these usually purchased at Cabelas and the last 3 pair all had the same issue with seams on right foot , quality seems to be declining

Very well made. And they are comfortable. The more they wear in the better they are.

Theyre really asome and comfortable

I have ha several pairs over the years. Quality seems to be down a little. The pair I am currently wearing the stitching is coming apart on the outside of the right shoe.

This is my sixth pair of Durand boots . I hike six miles a day in the desert on rocky uneven serfices. I can't wait to take them off, they hurt my feet and ankles. I would like to return them.

I've put over 600 miles in these boots and am satisfied. I've used them for hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, winter hikes, and everything in between. They've been waterproof and durable. My only complaint is the threads have torn in a few places and seems have come undone. The tread still has life so I wish keen would fix these boots for me. Also, these boots are definitely on the heavier side.
