For me, this model offered the support and comfort that Keen, Merrill and Danner could not. I have a sore big toe joint (think bunion issue, but different) so that pressure on top from the lace eyelets hurts with each step and a sole that is too flexible causes pain from the foot bottom and joint area as well. I have tried to offset the pressure on the ball of my foot by taking a wide size with other shoes, but I did not need to here. These light weight trail shoes seem very comfortable. I wish they were waterproof and came in more colors, but I think I will keep them for hiking and other outings. I’m encouraged.

Podiatrist recommended I try this brand to help with plantar fasciitis, internal hammer toe issue, high arches and collapsed metatarsal arch. They are unbelievably cushioned. Feels like I'm walking on memory foam. I bought a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit well. Next time I will buy an extra wide shoe because of the other adjustments I'm wearing - not quite enough room. But I do plan to buy another pair of Hoka's. The colors were a little garish for me so I'll probably buy a "tamer" color.

I have pairs of Stinson 3 and Stinson 4. The Stinson 5 is to have a clean looking pair. The 3’s are a perfect fit (half size smaller than usual shoe). The 4’s have a narrower toe box and are not as comfortable as the earlier model. The 5’s have a larger toe box than either of the earlier models. Maybe a little wide in the toe for me. The cushioning is very plush and the stability seems a little less than the earlier models. I am a sort of active old lady who wears Hokas all the time for walking and daily activities. I had plantar fasciitis until I got Hokas - now absolutely none.My two complaint about these Stinson 5’s are: there are no slots in the tongue for the laces and the tongues are very short so it is difficult to get the shoes on with out extensive tugging to pull the tongues out; and the material of the outer uppers doesn’t look like it will hole up so well. Despite these complaints, i love these shoes.

I am a huge Hoka Fan. These shoes fit true to Hoka with plenty of mid foot and forefoot room. Unfortunately, ever since the Stinson ATR 4 every model is hard as a rock. The ATR 6 is no exception. I believe it has something to do with the hard rock plates on the bottom. I wear Hoka for the cushioning which is usually exceptional. These were a definite pass for me.

I am a nurse in a busy ICU,12+hours on my feet make a comfortable shoe a necessity. As far as comfort the shoes do the job, but they are so wide and clunky that they are a trip hazard. I wore them for a shift and every time I looked down I thought they looked oddly wide. I went home and even double checked the box to make sure I had not been sent a wide width. They were comfortable to stand in so I gave them another try. This resulted in a patient actually saying to me I am going to be careful not to trip on your clown shoes. So I am back in my old shoes and on the hunt for something with a much slimmer look.

Tight, looked like a clown shoe, would have to order another full size for thicker sock, plus ridge to hold your ankles hurt my foot

I wish Hoka would stop changing designs on all their models. Challenger was my go-to until the 4, when the toe box was made narrower. Since then I've worn and loved the Stinson. But the ATR 5 is significantly heavier than previous models, they are stiff and clunky, and even brand new the glue along the toe box looked like it was ready to give out. The tongue is too short and material looks cheaper. I actually wondered at first if I'd been sent knock offs, they were so uncomfortable; I ordered from an independent dealer, not Hoka. I am so incredibly disappointed.

I have other Hokas and these were at least a 1/2 size too big (and I ordered the same size). I wondered it they might be men's but I definitely ordered women's shoes.

The Stinson ATR 5 was supposed to be even better than the W Stinson ATR 4 I had, but not so. After one, 8-mile run, the lateral tendon right where the top of the shoe is had been rubbed to a bruise keeping me from running for two days. After a couple of miles into the run, I loosened the laces dramatically so I could finish my run, but to no avail. The top rim of the shoe is way too high and rubs on the ankles. The sole is much stiffer than the "4" and the toe box narrower. I think the width in general is probably correct for this size, but though my feet are thin, I need more room in the toe box because of the distances I run. I also had so much lower back pain and leg pain after my run, I almost took Ibuprofen. I run on pavement and always have. The "4" model was the very first Hoka One Ones I ever had and loved it as it completely healed my foot and knee pains and my blisters and calluses (from regular-sized toe boxes) I had after running in Nikes for 20 years and Brooks for 20 years. I had never heard of Hoka One Ones. I found out about Hoka One Ones from an orthopedic surgeon I saw who said he didn't know how to help my foot pain but another patient had switched to Hoka One Ones after seeing him and after six months reported that after running in these, her foot pain was gone, so he told me to try them, I did, and loved the "4s", but the "5s" NOT at all. After I saw the doctor I did lots of research (I'm a nurse) and discovered the source of my foot pain; I had Second MTP Synovitis (common for women aged 55, I am 57)! So, I am diligent now about stretching my calves and with that along with the "4s" and their cushioning, the pain in the ball of my foot at the second toe has healed after YEARS of pain. At one point, I couldn't run at all for six months due to the Second MTP Synovitis. So, now I am in search of another Hoka One One shoe as good as the "4s". Any suggestions?

I have had several pairs of Stinson ATR's both version 3 and 4. I so wanted to like Stinson ATR 5 but it is not good at all period. The tongue will not stay in place regardless of how tight you lace the shoe. Within a quarter mile of a run the tongue has slid done on the top of my foot and feels horrible. Please please please bring back Stinson ATR 4 which was the BEST shoe ever regardless of running road, trail, or hiking!

I absoutely LOVE this shoe!!! Life changing for me when it comes to walking. It's soooo comfy! It has a wide toe box, great stability and grip, and the perfect amount of cushioning to keep it very comfortable. It almost helps propel you forward a bit with each step you take. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!

These are my favorite Hoka’s. The tow box is wide enough for my feet and the comfort is spot on. Sad that Hoka discontinued this model.

I am a big Hoka fan and have 3 pairs of their shoes. I have lots of foot issues plus bad knees and cannot state enough how great the fit is and how much my pain is alleviated when I wear my Hokas. They are so well made and fit true to size.

This is my 4 th pair of Hokas and hands down all of my Hoka's are the best sneakers I have ever owned. The support, cushioning and fit are the best in the business! I have had 3 foot surgeries in the last 5 years so my feet need the TLC that Hoka's provide. I won't wear anything else :)

I bought a pair of these 2 years ago and wore them for my 10hr shifts as a nurse. Awesome comfy supportive. I did have some of the tread wear off but was able to glue it back in place. Inside of heel, hard sharp vertical plastic eventually wore through the padding and started jabbing me. I still bought 2 more pairs as they are the most comfortable work shoes I have ever found. I have read that the ATR 6 is not as comfortable as this ATR 5, so I was glad to get these shoes even though production has apparently been stopped. I have been an 8 in women's in the past but in recent years 7.5 fits best. I doubt my feet are shrinking, manufacturers seem to have different sizing lately. Shoes in any brand are generally too narrow for the ball of my foot, these are perfect.

I had heard a lot about this brand and had great expectations. Well, they lived up to them. After having purchased several quality brands in the past, I still was challenged with discomfort, with my flat feet. I stand on concrete all day and my back was beginning to ache unimaginably. After only 3 days, I began to feel relief and am not nearly as uncomfortable. I plan to get other pairs because I dont like to wear the same shoe more than two or three days in a row.
