I bought this product due to the multiple recommendation from hoka that these shoes were for people who pronate. I work 12.5 hours shift at the hospital, on my feet for most of my shift, so I needed a stable pair of shoes. The first day I wore the shoes to work they were fine, I felt stable and I loved them. But the second day, within the first hour, my toes were in so much pain. They were in pain the entire 2nd shift. It was so painful that it made it hard to do my job. I immediately started a return. Perhaps its my feet but the other hokas I own/wear were true to size and I have had no issues.

Although these shoes fit very well, they are not stable enough for me. There's little arch support for those like me who need that. Also, the sole wore down quicker than the original Gaviota, the tongue didn't stay in place...it slid down and the top of the back is stuffed fabric. I still wear the original, but these, I put in the trash. These aren't worth the money.

I know a few people that love these shoes so I had high hopes. They did not work for my foot at all. They felt narrow and tight and I know a different size would not work. They were so uncomfortable for me that I didn’t not attempt to use them on a run.

These felt great at first , then I had no feeling in my toes on one foot . I looked that up and it said to order wide , so I did . They were too big . I have no idea why but these shoes were just not for me .

This shoes is causing me heel pain. Even after I take the shoe off the pain takes a n hour or so to subside. I have wore this shoe less then 10 times. Won't be frying them again. Very dissatisfied.

I normally wear a 7.5 wide but was told these run longer so I ordered a 7 wide and it fits fine. It has a nice wide toe box and the color was great. Unfortunately they are not comfortable. I ran in them a few times thinking they would begin to feel more comfortable but they did not. I’m not sure if I can even wear them to run errands but I can’t return them because I have run @ 15 miles in them. I wanted to love/ like them but unfortunately I just can’t. They put way too much pressure on my knees and ankles. At least I know Hokas are not for me.

I use the shoe daily I'm a valet attendant and use a variety of shoes, so this is a personal take. I choose this shoe based on my weight I'm 265lb so I need a shoe with good padding and support, I found this shoe based on those criteria. I've used multiple brands so my history with shoes is extensive So first off this shoe looks great I get a lot of compliments and its a good shoe to show off if your into that. The cushion is great after the break-in period no foot pain after running and standing 7-10 hours. Now my main problem is the shoe heel is very thick and the ball is much thinner so my foot is basically taking all the weight also it offsets my foot placement and shifts my weight forward to the point it's straining my knee, I started to develop really bad knee pain caused %100 from these shoes. I can't recommend these.

Lately, I'm observing graduate decline quality of sneakers produced by Hoka. Size mismatch, reduction of cushioning level. I've been wore Constant 2 for years. And even after 1000 km they coped admirably. But now it feels like I put on hard plastic on my feet. Hopefully my new pair of shoes will spread out over time. But it seems this is my last purchase of these sneakers. It's truly sad.

I already had Hoka One sneakers that I loved, but I returned these Hoka One sneakers for 2 reasons. 1. The tongue is abnormally short, just barely long enough for the laces to go on top if you tug on it. A bad look and feel. I compared and saw a regular length tongue on my existing Hoka One sneakers. 2. I bought a 7 wide and they were a narrower fit than the 7 medium Hoka One that I already had.

These shoes run my knees immediately and I stopped wearing them after 2 weeks. I was also starting to wear holes into the heel cushioning on both feet.

The original Gaviota solved my sesamoiditis problems. I bought it in the wide size, and used Lydiard lacing across the forefoot to keep the tongue from being too tight across the top of the foot, then regular cross lacing closer to the ankle, and a heel lock to keep it from sliding around the ankle (if it weren't for my foot problems I would wear normal with shoes, not wide.) I LOVED that shoe. I've worn nothing else for a year and a half - it fixed what two podiatrists and four sets of custom orthotics couldn't fix. I purchased three pairs, but now they've worn out, and I can no longer get that model. So I ordered the same size in the Gaviota 2. As I opened the box I said to my husband, "I hope they haven't messed with a good thing." Sure enough, the new fancy lacing system makes it impossible to do Lydiard lacing (and I'm not unusual in this - lots of runners do it.) And the top is too tight over the instep, which the Lydiard lacing would help. Why, oh why, would you change the lacing? Because it looks good? The old version was so flexible - I tried several lacing systems before settling on what worked best for my problem foot. I have no idea if I like the shoe otherwise. I can't get it comfortable enough try it out. Thanks for nothing, Hoka. "Different" isn't always better.

I would not recommend the Hoka Gaviota 2 shoe to anyone because the treads have worn out in less than 2 months. I purchase these shoes because I am a flat foot runner, and after doing extensive research I narrow my option down to Hoka. I had never heard of this shoe company so I decided to give it a try. I was initially impressed with the look of the shoe especial the Hoka Arahi 2 and cushing of the shoes because I am an older, heavier gentleman. I have never had any running shoes wear out so quickly. I just started running/walking again and I only walk/run around 3 miles, 5 days a week. I started wearing the Gaviota 2 first then I began to rotate after one month with the HokaArahi 2 which is a better shoe because of the wear and tear. There is excessive wear on the outside edges of the Gaviota 2. I am under pronation (supination) runner. I only wear my running shoes when I run/walk it is tempting to wear them all day because they feel so good and look great. I use these strictly for exercising. I could have purchased 2 pair of New Balance for the cost of the Gaviota 2. I will not order these again.

I have worn Hoka Gaviotas for years and have been really happy until this latest model. As soon as I put my feet into the shoes I can actually feel the support in the Achilles area actually pressing and cutting into my Achilles to the point of bleeding. I have reached out to Hoka with no help. I switched over to Hoka Biondi 6 with no issues at all. I prefer Gaviotas because I have flat feet but until they fix this issue I will be wearing the Bondi 6

I am so upset about the new design for the Hoka one one Gaviota. My daughter and I fell in love with the Gaviota 1 and were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Gaviota 2-- until we put them on! After a very short time our heels started burning horribly! Worst shoe design, ever! Please bring the original design back and we will return as loyal Hoka One One supporters. Until then, we are shopping other brands for a new favorite :(

They have sadly changed the design of the Gaviota. After wearing the Gaviota 2 for five minutes, my heels started burning and would not stop! My favorite shoe on earth was the Gaviota 1. PLEASE bring back the original design!! Until then, I am searching for a new pair of favorites in other brands...

This shoe is a big disappointment. The previous model provided support, stability and cushioning. This shoe lacks support, close to the ground and you feel the full impact of the ground when you run.

I am a huge fan of the Gaviota 1, I had 5 pair, I found the shoe of my dreams. The Gaviota 2 is a lot tighter, The 1st pair I bought I threw them on and walked out of the store, did some shopping, and in less than 20 minutes my feet were killing me. I loosened up the strings and that did not help. Went back to the store and traded them in on a wide and that helped relieve most of the pain at that time. After several days of normal use my feet were killing me again. I found out that a Hoka rep would be in town the next day, I met him and he did move me into a Bondi 2, which are working out great for me. I am just really disappointed that they made big changes in the 2nd version. They say they only changed the top, but my feet tell me they made changes in the bottom also. I am not kidding, I actually had to get a foot massage to relieve the pain in my feet, that was a first for me. Looks like I will have to start buying Bondi's until they change them.

These fit me so bizarrely. The heel was loose but the toe box was short and narrow. I have a C width foot but typically use B (normal) width shoes because wides are too wide and the heels tend to be way too loose for me. I have a different style of hokas that I love in the same size I tried these in. From the minute I started running I was in horrible pain in my toes and the balls of my feet. I made it a half mile before I decided to turn around and change shoes, and I barely made it back still running.

These were comfortable when I first put them on but within a few minutes of running I was in horrible pain at my toes and the balls of my feet. By a half mile I had to head back to switch shoes for the rest of my run. I have worn other hokas without issue this is so disappointing. The toe box is so narrow and shallow but the heel was already a bit high and wide so I don't think a bigger size or wide would alleviate the issue.
