These looked like cinder blocks on my feet and didn’t feel much better!

I'm not a fan of the shoe. My heal actually hurt more since I purchased the shoes

I have bought the Gaviota before and love them. I bought them again believing it would be as good as my previous pair. In the past month, I used them twice a week and notice a uncomfortable pain on my ankle after using the shoe. At the begging I though it was just a matter of breaking them in. After a month, I still get the uncomfortable ankle pain after using them and they feel very stiff compare to my old Gaviotas. I know its the show because I have a different pair of HOKA running shoes and when I run/jog with those shoes my foot is fine. Unfortunately I can not return them since the 30 days have gone by and sad I am not able to run with them.

Sadly these had to be returned. I will stick with what works and, for me, that is Brooks or ASICS. Unfortunately these felt snug in my normal size 7-1/2. It’s difficult to know what size to get when reviews are going in completely different directions. For me they were short in the toe and just tight. If they were anything to look at, I would have exchanged for the 8 but it wasn’t worth it. Then I tried them out willing to forgo everything else and in an effort to avoid a return. But alas, the experience was akin to strapping two stiff boards to my feet and hoping for the best. I need a stability shoe for chronic plantar fasciitis, but also need some cushion and flexibility of which these had none. Go 1/2 size up if you take the chance in buying them!

Sorry, but these are being returned. They are not as comfortable as expected and as hoped. However they are very good compared to other shoes.

I ended up exchanging for a wide shoe but the new pair is still uncomfortable and they can't be returned.

I bought the sneakers after multiple bouts of plantar fasciitis and most recently a torn fascia. Aside from the thicker sole, I don't feel like these sneakers are more comfortable or preventing soreness.

These were the worst shoes ever. I walked in them for about a half a mile and was unable to continue because they were so uncomfortable. The shoe makes it feel like your foot is rolling and it is not good if you have any arch at all. The next day my feet continued to hurt after the short distance in these awful shoes. I am a distance runner and I have never encountered such a bad shoe in more than 30 years.

Horrible shoes. I wore them 4 times and my toes were numb after 10-15 minutes. Had to take them off. I loved the arahis I had. These are a huge overpriced disappointment.

I've been wearing and running in Hokas since 2013. The Gaviota 2 caused my toes to feel numb and if I wasn't careful with the laces the tops of my feet as well. returning for another model.

Wanted to love this shoe. SO comfy but did not last. Sole wore out and interior lining had holes within weeks. Gaviota 1 did not do this. Fix the wear issues and you have a keeper!

I got the pair of shoes in my size and when I tried them on it was very tight! It was right close to the bottom of the shoes. So I had to exchange it for a larger size. Upon doing that, I wore them to work and it was highly uncomfortable. It felt as if I was standing on bricks. They are great for walking but not for standing for any amount of time. I tried to exchange them for a different brand within the same price but they said you can only exchange once. Be aware of this.

No matter the shoes - customer service is really bad. Had I known, I would definitely avoided getting involved. Shoes weren't a good fit and had a few other issues. But, dealing with hoka's customer service is a nightmare

After an 8 mile walk my feet were hurting. The Akasa is much more comfortable with more padding and a narrower heel.

I absolutely fell in love with the original Gaviota but these are NOT the same shoe. There is far less cushioning and the heel doesn't drop like it use to. They have been causing me so much pain that I never had running. I use to think Hola's were the most amazing shoe ever but sadly I am going to have to find another one.

I have the Bondi 7, but have arch pain with them. The folks at Hoka recommend the Gaviota. I waited a long time for them to come back in stock. I have worn them twice. My feet are still killing me from a walk 4 hours ago. Not sure why they are hurting my feet, but I can't wear them. Sad...

I bought this Hoka Gaviota 2 in a 6 Wide. I'm 5'0" and 105 lbs with a wide forefoot and bunions and a narrow heel and instep. My foot measures a 5 1/2 E, narrow heel, but shoe choices online are mostly narrow, medium and wide. I've walked and run over the years in Saucony, Brooks, and most recently New Balance. This shoe is pretty much built like a loaf pan. There is essentially no shape. The front of the shoe is nice and roomy but the middle and heel are about as wide as the front! The ends of the shoe laces are almost 18" long, so much extra length that I had to tie them and then wrap them around my ankles and tie them again in front to take up the length. Though roomy and comfortable at first, I got an ankle strain the first time I walked and ran. This is a big loose box of a shoe so might work for a house slipper.

I've been a Hoka girl for years, but was extremely disappointed with this pair. I went to put them on for a run and the eyelet broke, making them impossible to properly lace up. I've only had them for 3 months & they're completely useless to me now. Such a bummer, because in the past I've always had good experiences with the brand. Maybe they switched manufacturers or something, buyer beware these do not stand up to light use.
