Love the feel of this shoe as I have a lot of joint issues - but they honestly don't last long at all. I bought my last pair July 1st and the tread is all but gone. For the cost, I feel like they should last more than 3 months. I average approx. 9 miles a week.

Suffered a boken back years ago. I have neuropathy in my feet. I work on my feet all day and HOKA shoes allow me near pain free walking all day long. It's the only shoe I wear.

Trail running on urban trails 4+ times a week. Love the Speedgoat 2 , I would say I like the Speedgoat 3. It feels a btt wider and not as performant.

I haven't had the opportunity to really stress the Speedgoats yet, but hey feel good. My concern is always durability, so that status is TBD.

Amazing comfort in these shoes. I have another pair of Hoka's, though, so I ordered the same size in the speedgoat 3, but it is a much tighter/unforgiving shoe, and after wearing them for a few hours, every single time, there is a point in the right side, near my pinky toe, that rubs raw and bleeds. I'm not going to return them, but I would tell people that this one runs smaller then some of your other styles.

This is my 2nd Speedgoat. Have the 1st for work. Which I really like a lot. I found the 2nd a little different and narrower in the front, was not happy as it is tight.

100 miles and ~35,000ft elevation gain of technical mountains and trails on these shoes so far. Mud, snow, ice, granite, roots, etc. Felt very narrow and tight until about 50 miles, very comfy now. Pros: lightweight, lugs are sticky, good laces, cushion is great on the joints, helped alleviate some knee pain I was having. Cons: stack height = major loss of confidence on downhills and a propensity to roll ankles. I know it's a trade off: more cushion means you can theoretically run longer with less pain, but once your ankles start tipping you need to be on your game to keep this shoe under control. This is the only reason why I won't be using this shoe for my upcoming 50k mountain run.

Held to the rocks good as well as the mud. I could not grab the rope with them needs grippers on the side for that. All said and done good shoe.

Great traction, firm and close fit - not sloppy, and tested on a few 10k trail runs and then a 50k. I need a plush shoe due to foot injuries and this shoe was stiff at first, but is starting to break in. The trajectory looks promising.

Probably one of the best trail shoes I've used. The Vibram out sole is amazing traction and durability. Really positive no slip traction whether on hard pack dirt or loose rocky stuff. The low heal rise is idea for inclines and declines. My only wish is for Hoka designers to tame it down a bit. The big blocks of neon color on the thick mid sole and plastic rain boot looking uppers makes them very specific to the trail, but a little embarrassed to wear them on the street.

Used this for hiking and trail running (70/30 split). Purchased to train for and hike Mt Whitney. I've done a lot of runs and hikes in them (260+ miles). They were extremely comfortable out of the box. Traction is great. It took a few hikes and runs to get use to the cushioning coming from other shoes. I feel like I had to be more careful about footing, which was probably a good thing anyway. I hike in socal on a lot of rocky terrain. The foam gets scuffed up quite a bit towards the forefoot. The upper is quite durable though, I kick a lot of rocks, and never felt any of it. The material has held up well. The soft foam between the vibram is an issue though. I had a 0.5 inch gash that cut into one of the heels, and nearly rip the vibram heel off the shoe.

I bought these shoes for a 25K ultra on some pretty technical trails in east Texas. Overall the shoes feel good. Great cushion. Good support. Excellent grip. The only issues I had with the shoes were the bulkiness and the fact that they kept my feet pretty hot. The shoes are bulky enough that you will find yourself clipping your toes on roots and rocks if you aren't use to running in them. with the temps in the mid to upper 80's and the humidity in the low 90% range these shoes weighed about 5 lbs each after 8 miles. I ended up having to change shoes at mile 8 because going another 7.5 mile loop in them would have been a mistake. I would definitely use them for a 10K and under trail run, but anything longer than that would require me running and training in the Speedgoat exclusively in order to get comfortable with the heft/bulkiness of the shoe.

These shoes have amazing cushion and I really wanted them to work. Unfortunately they are just too narrow. I am a women's size 8 and need wide shoes for running. I tried these in women's 8.5 and men's 7. even the men's was too narrow for me after a few miles. Really wish Hoka would make more shoes in wide!

This is my third pair of Hokas, but first time with Speedgoat. I have a narrow foot, so I wasn't put off by the narrow toe box reviews of others. Yes, it is a bit snug for anyone beyond a C width. It's also a bit cramped above the toes. My second toe is the same length as my big toe and I have had a bit of sore toenail on the second toe when running downhill. Positives: The traction is amazing. I just completed a 25 km off-trail race on muddy conditions and it was spectacular. I have avoided any sort of pavement with these, as I don't want to lose the great tread, which kind of limits some of my mixed terrain runs. They were a tad pricey, so I am hoping they last a while. I've only had them for 2 months and put about 100 miles on them so far. I'll follow up my report in a few months. Happy running.

This shoe is awesome in all areas except the right toe box. I have a pair of low ones and mid-height waterproof ones. I wore the mids backpacking in Yosemite and Yellowstone. Great on dry, wet, or snowy surfaces. However, the tow box is far too narrow. Please make a wide version available.

Have only done about 10 miles, two separate runs, both on fairly technical, hard trails. Bizarre to have that much grip AND cushion. Honestly, still adapting. I think the size is accurate but the shoe does feel "big," as compared to other trail runners I've had.

I absolutely love the product but the build is questionable as the rubber is already peeling off the main body of the shoe after only a few hikes. I haven't started an exchange yet but i plan on sending them back and trying again because i do love everything else about the shoe.

Toe box tight, compared to my Speedgoat 2's. Not sure I'll keep them yet. Just arrived a couple days ago. Also the pavement/port color I bought, is VERY dark..very, compared to photo. I guess when they photograph them , they use very bright lighting because they looked better then.
I'd also recommend:
Nike Trail, Brooks, Asics

First of all these are probably the best looking running shoes I have ever owned. I got the orange, black and blue pair and I have gotten several compliments on them. I run in L.A. on trails around the city (some pavement here and there), usually 3-10 miles max and these shoes have no problem fitting the bill. The sole of the shoe is supportive and cushy without feeling bulky and seems to have helped a little with my plantar fasciitis, though I've only run in them several times. The traction on the bottom of the shoe is great too. The top part of the shoe is breathable and light weight, I can sometimes feel air hitting the top of my foot through the shoe which is nice. I see alot of people writing that the "toe box" is narrow. I don't notice that my toes necessarily feel crowded, but I do feel like the overall shoe is narrow. I have the laces basically loosened almost as loose as they would go and they feel a little more snug than any other shoe I've run in - and I've had Saucony, Brooks, and Newtons. That being said, they are not uncomfortable but I could see people with wider feet having problems running in them.
