Tried the 4's and these are far superior. Hoka keep the 3! The three is snug on my narrow foot with a tight but sufficient toe box. The tongue is comfortable. The lower is stable and rides well.

I usually run trails with nobby profiled road shoes. In more difficult terrain and for longer runs, I decided to give the Speedgoat a shot. The first thing I noticed out of the box was the sticky sole. It felt like there was glue on the tile. This translates into awesome grip on the trail, slick rocks, loose rocks, sand, doesn't matter. I usually run a size 9 in the Clifton, and size 9 felt nice and snug on my narrow feet. Halfway through my first 20 miler, I started to feel my big toe constantly pushing against the front of the shoe, so I opted for a 9.5, fixing the toe box issue, no issues with the heel slipping. Nice and plush, awesome grip, still enough groundfeel without getting poked in the bottom of my foot by sharp rocks; all in all just an awesome trailshoe!

I have a chronic knee disorder (malalignment syndrome) that leaves me more vulnerable to patella-femoral knee pain than the average runner. I haven't run more than 10 miles in these at once yet but the extra cushioning appears to be helping prevent knee injury. As far as fit, I agree with other reviewers who stated that the version 4 of this shoe is too wide. I have normal width feet, ordered the 4's to compare, and these are spot-on perfect fit for me. My only concern is that they're so cushioned I have to more actively focus on keeping proper form. If you're not careful, it's easy to get lazy and start landing on one's heels. All in all a great experience so far.

This is my 3rd pair of Speedgoats, 2nd pair of Speedgoat 3's. I love the shoe. Break in period was very short. I lace the toe box a little loose as it is a bit narrow for me. Weird comment, but the laces are nice and thick and robust. Too often some shoes use thin little laces that are hard to handle when your fingers are wet, cold or you are really tired after a long run. I've got over 200 miles on a previous pair of SG 3's and they are still doing great. I normally float between a size 12-13 and ordered these in a 12 and removed the thin sock liner and the fit is great-giving me a little more room in the toe box. With all the cushion in these shoes, removing the sock liner doesn't change much. I'll be sticking with this shoe for as long as they are making it, and probably buying up older models as they go on sale.

Use the shoe for golf. The course waters down at night so the grass is wet for the early groups. This shoe keeps my feet dry and provides good stability for a golf swing.

The Speedgoat 3 are excellent. Great fit, good support and grippy sole. They are super cushiony which works well walking on trails and gravel. They were comfortable out of the box. No break in period. I've worn them every day on up to 5 mile walks and they were instantly comfortable.

Really nice, firm cushioning. The shoe is a snug fit width wise, but I haven't been experiencing any of the blistering issues or joint pain I was having with comparable trail running shoes. So far, so good!

I bought these as a Birthday present for my son. He had an Achilles repair a few months ago and still undergoing physical therapy. He wears the Hoka shoes everyday. He said the cushion and the feel of the shoes has made his repaired leg feel so much better. His physical therapists were very impressed by the shoes. The Hoka's have been a godsend for my very athletic son.

Love the shoe. Great cushioning, nice heel to toe transition which leads to a quick pace. Nice sale price; very high delivery charge which made it near regular price.

I weight approximately 200 lbs, train between 30-40 miles per week on average, and incorporate speed throughout my average 5+ mile run. The speedgoat is light enough for the endurance aspect, responsive enough for most of my tempo work, lasts 300 miles or more, and has the stack height necessary to save my joints. Great shoe.

The Speedgoat 3 fits perfect and rides like a dream. It feels like a road shop, but with the grip of a trail shoe.

I rate this 5 stars- love the shoe however it won't last long as I walk on sidewalks about 5 miles a day and the sole isn't holding up. Probably more of a trail / off pavement shoe. Fit and comfort are amazing.

Use the Speedgoat for just about every trail run nowadays. Had the 2 and now am running the 3. The fit of the 3 is even better than the 2. Great grip on the trail whether it be mud, rocks, roots, etc. Best protection for the feet I've used so far.

Hoka Speedgoat's are all I wear for trail & road. I've been wearing nothing but Hoka since 2013 when I was first introduced to them at a Hoka Running Event.

This shoe performs above my expectations! As I age (Yes, you can't stop aging!) I find that I need more cushioning for my joints, especially since I run almost exclusively on trails. I put off buying Hokas because A They seemed trendy and B They seemed too pricey. Just got my first pair-Speedgoat 3, and I'm A Impresses and B Sorry I waited so long!

I wear Speedgoats to train on trails. I wore them for the entire 100 miles of the 2019 Wasatch 100. I've been wearing Speedgoat trail shoes since they first arrived on the market.

Initially snug at the mid foot but loosened up with some miles. Using these mainly on trails but so comfortable getting ready to by some Hoka road shoes. Highly recommend!
