I like the stability but won't buy again. Needs more toe box room for orthotics . Backs to Brooks So sad.

I love the feel, the fit and the ride of this shoe. It is great for hallux ridigus with my mortons extensor, feels good in heavy milage, and has kept me running 60-70 miles/week. BUT, I've had to replace them every 2-3 months. Quite a large financial investment. I've tried multiple other shoes, but this is the only one that is stable, cushioned, fits orthotics, protects my joints...etc. The breathable mesh tears at the front every time. It is cheaply made and a big disappointment. The heel wears quickly and there is no lockdown. The outsole wears fast, too, but can be expected with milage. PLEASE, please change your "breathable" mesh, I don't need my toes poking out to have air circulate. (More colors in wide would be nice)

I really, really wanted to like these shoes because of the brand and how much support the shoe offers, but they left me disappointed. It took a long time for them to break-in or at least feel comfortable. Maybe it was the lacing but my toes would go numb if I ran longer than 8 miles in them. Then after only 5 months and about 230 miles the fabric on the outside edge completely separated from the sole to form a 3 inch slit and render to shoes useless. The tread is still all there, but the mesh just gave out. Super bummed because these were not inexpensive and I was hoping would last longer. I switched to HOKA's because they were recommended but I'm sad to say, I wouldn't switch if I could go back now.

I ordered these in wide, but they still felt very tight on my feet. Length was good, and I could see how these would be great shoes if they fit your feet. Unfortunately, they have a rather narrow definition of wide.

To many changes from Gaviota. 1. Toe box is smaller 2. Heel depth is less 3. Less arch support Overall: not correct shoe for overpronators. I've had several Gaviota and use them daily for 12 hour shifts standing/walking on concrete in an Emergency Room. I've talked several coworkers and family members in to purchasing a pair. We couldn't be more pleased. Then you made these changes and they are not living up to the original. The only option left in the original is all leather with only 2 colors to choose from. I will continue to purchase those. And I will continue to reccomend Hoka. My fear is you will completely do away with the original. Please go back to the original !!!

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I have absurdly high arches and struggle to find shoes that are supportive and comfortable. These, paired with orthotics, are perfect. After long days on my feet, I'm not in any pain. The HUGE downside though is that these just do not last like a $150 pair of shoes should. I've bought two pairs now, and both have worn down far too quickly. The first pair I only made last through 6 months of moderate work wear, and by the end all of the black parts of the sole had peeled off, there were holes in the toes, and both heels had large holes inside that gave me blisters (one was so badly worn that the plastic structure of the shoe poked through). I bought a second pair in hopes that they'd be better, but after only 3 months there are the same holes in the heels. This poor quality is inexcusable considering the price.

I love these sneakers. They rocked my world in regards to shin splints and treadmill running. But unfortunately the interior back started to rip so now I get this poking feeling when I walk and run from the plastic body. I checked and it hasn't even been a year :( I got them last March! I really wanted these to last because they are on the pricier side for me as a student!

I bought a pair of Gaviota and liked them so much I went back to the store to get another pair. They told me they had been replaced with an "upgrade" so I tried them. I liked the cushioning as I have a "bad" foot that needs it. Because of this "injury" I am not able to exercise as much as I used to. Well the Gaviota2 was a disappointment. They had changed the tongue, which slips down toward the toe and the fabric around the top of the shoe alone the back weakens the stability. The mesh seems to be a little less quality than the originals and stretched out after wearing them a while. I have to wear shoes all the time since I have nerve damage in my heel so my shoes take a beating. These did not last as long as the originals. In fact, I went back to wear the originals and just padded them a little more with those get insoles. I can't understand why companies start to skimp and charge the same amount of money. Sorry, I can't recommend these personally but someone who runs may really love them.

I regularly walk 10k steps at a good speed. The shoe wears out very quickly. The inner side of the feet became hard due to constantly being uncomfortable. I would have exchanged it or returned it but unfortunately, it was not a possibility for me...

I have owned multiple Hoka Gaviota shoes. While the new Gaviota 2 is an improvement in the sides where the stitching used to part, the shoes are smaller and much less comfortable. I purchased the exact same size I have owned multiple times in the Gaviota an these are at least a 1/2 size smaller in all aspects. It appears they are trying to save material or something. I would NOT buy these unless you try them in a store for size first.

I absolutely loved the my gaviota one! That's why I'm so disappointed in gaviota 2. The upper material is cheaper mesh and the shoe is narrower with less cushion that makes my foot turn in. It's so sad this model Looks cheaper and is so.

Gaviota was the best shoe I'd ever found. So much so that I went to get another pair and found they had been replaced by Gaviota 2. This was a big disappointment. I noticed cuts in quality and stability. While there seemed to be an increase in the cushioning, the tongue and top of the back of the shoe had been replaced by inferior material. I bought these for a foot condition; not running, more of a walking shoe, but the differences they compromised doesn't make it worth the money for me. I wanted quality; I saw a compromise.

I loved the gaviota 1 and was so disappointed to see that it was no longer being made. This is the only shoe that I have been able to wear without a custom orthotic ensole. This shoe was a life saver for me. I bought them on Dec 31 and wore them to the 1st part of May before wearing them out. 24/7 I wore this shoe. I bought the Gaviota 2, since it seemed to be my only option. I purchased my same size 8 and my feet are very tired by the end of the day. My toes do not have the needed room for the toe box is much slimmer. I've only wore them for about 2 weeks and they are such a disappointment. I have heel spurs and high arches and the Gaviota 1 felt like walking on clouds. If I could return this shoe, I would. I guess I'll have to start over looking for that perfect shoe. I don't know why they have changed this shoe so drastically. The larger toe box was awesome. The 2 should have been called something different because it is nothing like the gaviota 1. I'm gonna miss that amazing shoe that gave me back my life. Pleas bring back the gaviota 1!!!!

They felt great until I realized the left shoe was slightly thicker and more cushiony than the right. They are not the same shoe from the left foot to the right foot. We could set the shoes side by side and see the difference. They also caused tremendous pressure under the arch. I think it was actually the edge of the shoe as Hokas are so narrow. I returned these immediately.

Great comfort, but I'll never understand why the least appealing color (and only 1 option at that) is offered for wide widths. Show the wide width gals some love, PLEASE!

The new gaviota 2 colors are BEYOND BORING, THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! I loved the color choices gaviota had back in summer 2018, bring that color selection back. They were bright, fun, made you want to put them on right away and go for a run. AllI I wear are Hokas but I won't be buying any of these gaviota 2s due to poor color selection!

One wearing and the black leather turned to grey. One week and the sole started to come apart. My other Hoka shoes have not been a disaster like these, but these shoes are wonderfully designed but poorly manufactured. Wish i remembered to send them back in time for a refund. Many hokas are great in every way- but these are terrible. don't buy unless you want to perpetuate a good name being used to push shoddy garb on the people.

Just after five months the sole came loose and the stitching on the top ripped. I contacted Hoka and emailed pictures, but they did not respond. This happened through normal wear and no running.
