much better for an underpronater, although I still needed to put some moleskin onto the outer rear portion of insole. The arch support was not as high as the Clifton. Likes that it wasn't as bouncy as the Bondi. Of the three styles I had, definitely preferred the Gaviota 2. I wish the heel look was like the Clifton and Bondi.

The bottom of the shoes wear out quickly. Please fix this problem. They start squeaking on floor after about 4 months. I have bought 3 pair with same results.

I didn't find this shoe best to my shoe style. So, I sent it back and got the Bondi 6 instead, they felt so much more better, in terms of how the shoe was designed, and they are really great!

HOKA was recommended by a by a podiatrist for 1st toe pain. I needed more support. GAVIOTA 2 and ARAHNI are both good choices. I wear them all day. One problem: There is a colored strip between the shoe and the sole. At the toes it has white scrapes on it quickly from position changes throughout the day. I feel like it makes the shoe look older. I sent pictures of my two pairs to HOKA but I did not receive a reply. It's a different style than ASICS . I never had that scraping before.

I use all three of my pairs. They are the only shoe that I am not in hurry to take off. My only issue is the lace on my knit Cliftons is frayed.

I wear these for comfort and stability. After hours on my feet my bones in the top of my arch become painful and the sides of my foot ache. I went up half a size from the 9.5 to a 10 in the mens. I wear a 10.5 in womens but never can find that size and the men's 9.5 seemed too short so I tried the 10 this time. I have very tender feet, need extra cushion so I wear the insole over my orthotic inserts. I still have pain in the top of my foot under the laces and the outer side o my feet after 6-7 miles of walking on concrete and gravel surfaces.. I'm torn about trying the Bondi 6 because my foot Dr. Says i need stability, but my feet feel the need for cushion. Plus, I'm quite flat footed.and at 5"6 210 lbs really need support. Any recommendation

I love the shoe. I'm a nurse. I usually have to change them out in 4 months but I guess that's expected. My only complaint is the color selection. The black and teal was the Only color you could wear with anything. What happened to it????

Not a runner! I have chronic inflammation in the ball of my foot and wear prescription orthotics. Bought these for everyday wear after trying stability shoes from other brands. New Balance 1540 felt okay at first but support completely failed within six months. Hoping these Gaviotas will last longer! From my point of view, stability or motion control shoes need more development in general, but I have special needs - I over-pronate, but I also need footwear with a stiff enough sole to spread the load away from the ball of my foot. The Gaviotas' cushioning performs that function now, but I wonder if it will last. The Meta-Rocker really seems to work - not so sure about the J-Frame. If ordering online, be aware that the color scheme on these shoes is important, because the sole is unusually broad compared to the upper. A white sole seems to work best, because it emphasizes the narrow upper rather than the broad base. I bought the all-black ones, and it looks like I'm walking around in frisbees...

Great fit. My forefoot is an inch wider than my heel and they fit perfectly. I do wish they were a bit more stiff in the inner heel area. I pronate tremendously and they do not provide excellent support. Just good. I do wear orthotics for the issue and they fir in the shoe nicely.

I so wanted to keep these, but had to return. It was my bunion that made for a too-tight fit. Other than that, the cushion and stability felt great.

I was hoping these were better than the arahi as the arahi had not enough support or cushion and were so ugly. But these are too tight around the top of my foot and a little too narrow. I need to keep them for work though. The Bondi 6 I have are too worn out. These Gaviota would be perfect if they had more cushion and weren't so tight over the top and not narrow. They look better than the arahi but they still dont keep my heels from killing me, I have had what I'm told is plantar fasciitis for 13 years now and nothing seems to help it. I wish I could find the cure. These allow me more time standing before excruciating pain than the Bondi did though. I cannot use my orthotic inserts with these either as they are too tight. I think the sizing should be universal for all your shoes, a 10.5 in bondi and arahi fit me fine. I had to order a mens 9 of this because you dont carry black in women and I need black for work, wonder if this was a women's size if it would of fit me better.

I've been wearing them around the house and trying to decide if they are 1/2 size too small.

I am a daily walker (2-4 miles) with light running 2-3 times per week. Shoe is very supportive and stable feeling. I do suggest following the sizing chart recommendations regarding sizes. I normally wear Brooks and per the sizing chart, needed to go down half a size in Hoka which ended up being a perfect fit. They do look very wide when looking down at them, but that is worth it for the extra stability.

Tried my normal size and the inseam at the base of the toes was too restricting. Called for advice and returned for the next half size up. Unfortunately in this case, they are true to size, so the slightly larger size was mostly just that. There was a fraction more space in the area I needed it, but ultimately they did not fit. I will likely continue to look for one that does as I am anxious to try this brand out.

This is my first Hoka shoe. I previously wore Brooks Addiction but they have changed and no longer fit my foot so I heard about Hoka and decided to try them. They are a good shoe, not quite as comfortable as I had hoped. The spread of the sold which flares out takes some getting used to. The support is good, just what I needed. They are a bit high priced in comparison with the previous brand I wore. I would still buy them again, as they provided good support.
