The best pair of shoes that I have ever had. They feel and fit great.

I have slightly wider feet than the D, and so I used a shoe stretcher to get that extra little width. I actually bought these for fencing (the sport, not the landscaping:-) and they're working out really well. Just as much lateral stability and grip as my adidas fencing shoes, but so much more cushioning. So nice.

My first foray into Hoka, and I'm pretty satisfied. Light shoe with nice energy return. Felt a bit long so I reordered a half size down. Both sizes felt a bit narrow, however, but maybe it's just me coming from Altras.
I'd also recommend:

Super lightweight shoe. The upper is so light and well-ventilated that you get actual wind flowing in and around your foot, which helps on those hot days. I wish there was a bit more 'cushion' in the sole, but they're still comfortable enough to wear for hours of walking/running.

The sneaker is a great enhancement to my morning run. I am disappointed in Hoka One One in their apparel department. It is like non existent. I live in the south (Charleston SC) whereas the climate calls for a more lighter dress, but Hoka doesn't address that kind of running apparel on their online shopping site. What Hoka One One does do excessively is, once I purchase a pair of new running shoes, they bombard me with more emails the next day to buy more and more running shoes. What about some Hoka brand running pants or shorts, shirts and tee's, etc.

This an excellent running/walking shoe. It’s surprisingly lightweight, especially the material on the top. So I feel like I have plenty of support without feeling like I’m standing on foam blocks.

I work in a hospital and these are great all day comfort and support. Feet don't hurt anymore and knees feel better. I will buy more once I wear these out.

Just want to start by saying, I chose 'feels half size too big' because I was sized at the store and was given a half-size smaller and it fits. Great shoe, lightweight and works for running and weight lifting. Plus it looks pretty cool.

These are my fifth pair of Hoka’s, and fourth pair of Cavu’s. The Cavu’s are fairly cushioned under foot, and durable. I wear orthotics so I normally don’t worry about arch support. My only minor complaint is they don’t come in red, otherwise a great running shoe, and a great running shoe company.

Great shoe, just a little slippery when pavement is wet. I'd buy them again.

a very good sneaker for training, this new version is faster, faster and requires a better race pace than version 1
could have the option of elastic cords to transform the shoe into a competition

Tried these on at a local running store, looking at these and the Saucony Kinvara 10, much preferred these! Lighter and more responsive, a bit better cushioned than the Kinvaras but a bit bouncier. Really felt smooth. These are gonna be my next speed and tempo day shoe when my Cavu 1's wear out.

I am not sure what the deal is with people disliking these shoes in the other reviews. I have never owned a pair of hoka one one's before and bought them in a pinch for the Big Sur Marathon after forgetting my normal pair of shoes. I primarily run in lightweight, minimalist (all the way to the original vibrams), low rise shoes so I got these because they were the least rise, lightest pair they had available. I was really not disappointed in any way. I felt like they needed almost no break-in, were very light and had lots of bounce still. I would not call them full on minimalist but a perfect compromise for longer distance running. I also liked that they did not feel loose in any way and supported the sides of my feet which can be hard to find as my feet are a bit on the narrow side for 12. They also fit a bit long as I usually wear 12.5 in running shoes and fit perfect into these in a 12. Also I did not experience any ankle rub. Very cool brand, glad they are tailoring to runners that do need so much cushion and rise.

As someone who has ran in most running shoes and most of the Hoka line, I find the Cavu to be one of the most underrated shoes out there. It's simple and straight to the point. You want a lightweight Hoka shoe to run fast in? Here you go.
I've done several long runs, workouts, and even easy runs in the shoe and never had any issues. It's responsive and get's the job done. Since the release of the original Cavu, I've kept a pair in my rotation. The second version is just as good, if not better, than the first.
If you're are looking for a lightweight, racing Hoka shoe the Cavu is it. If you're already training in minimal shoes and want something with more cushion, consider the Cavu as well. I strongly believe, the Cavu can fit into the majority of runner's rotations.

Not as much cushion as I'd like. Also, the soles grab the hospital floor and try to kill me. But they're comfy and sized perfect, so I wear them outside of there.

I am an indoor runner & swimmer. This product was recommended by a trainer and is great. It is a lot better then my last shoes. Great for treadmill running.
