I have arthritic feet so Have been wearIng Hoka's daily For about 5 years and usually love the support and cushioning. This is the first pair of size 9 that does not fit well and feelS sloppy.

I had to return this shoe since it ran so much larger than the Bondi. I'm very satisfied with the Bondi, however.

I've ran in this pair 3 times now and it's very uneven. I can feel the right shoe support is off center and the shoe is ever so slightly longer than the left. Without that this would've been a good lightweight running shoe. If it didn't feel so uneven I would probably want to keep it. I have a go to brand and shoe I normally use and this is comparable to it, but I wanted to try something new. I got this and some mizuno. The mizunos were very uncomfortable and hot. These are light weight and easy to run in except that the sizing or support is off on one. Quite disappointed.

I normally wear a size 9 so that is what I ordered. I had to return them for an 8.5 and still there is a bit of room. I could have probably went down to a size 8. I have a narrow foot to begin with but they are a wider style. The soles are great, nice and thick and I was having knee issues and it feels much better in these!

This style runs at least a 1/2 size too big in length. I have worn HOKAs for years and have never had a style run this large. Order a 1/2 size down and you should be ok.

Had a fear the show wouldn't be what the previous Mach was (that would've been too good to be true) and my fears were correct. My original Mach and Gaviota were mattress-like. Pure heaven. And for months of being worn 12+hours a day 4-6 days/week!!! These feel mediocre and that's after only two days. The cushioning doesn't make my feet stop hurting after wearing like my other Hokas and the tongue feels plastic and uncomfortable. Truly heartbreaking because I wanted to avoid the chunky look of the Gaviota and the negative heel feel of my Clifton 5's. Oh well, thank goodness there are more styles to try.

I’ve worn this model in the past and approx 1/2 size down from my regular shoe size always fit well. These seem to run a full size larger, I wear an 8 and 7.5 still felt half size too big.

I have loved all my hokas but these ones I ended up returning because the tongue is a weird plastic material and does not form around your ankle. The edge was very stiff and totally
Cut into my skin. I also felt like these were wider than my other three pairs that I've ordered.

I've had a few pairs of HOKA's over the years. I only have one pair that is true to size. To be honest, I'm so tired of them not getting their sizing accurate. I am a true 8.5 and I size down to a 7.5 in Hokas because they usually run (too) large. The 7.5 was still too big - the 7 is what ended up fitting me. Also, the toebox was pretty narrow. It was my most disappointing Hoka purchase because of not only the size inconsistency, but the feel; they look & feel very cheap.

I own several pairs of Hoka's and have loved all of them except these. The tongue keeps stabbing my and after a 15 min jog, I had the beginning of a blister on the side of my foot. These will be go back.

I have tried most of the models of HOKA and have not been happy with this pair. They run big and cause blisters when I run if I do not wear a super thick sock. This is a rare problem for me, I have wide feet and most shoes fit in the length but are a little tight everywhere else.

Knowing that shoe companies are like car companies (in that they're always updating/tweaking models), I stocked up on 3 years worth of Claytons before they were replaced by the Mach. Well, I had a race a few weeks ago, and I forgot my Claytons. Panicked, I ordered 4 pairs of Hoka to try out in the days leading up to the race. Since Machs replaced Claytons, I wasn't surprised that they fit closest to what I was used to - I went with the Mach for race day, and returned the rest. The Mach performed OK, but I had some serious problems (some of which are because of the shoe; some of which are because I wore nearly new shoes to race).
The cons:
-The sharp tongue (what is that, Hoka - who wanted a sharp tongue? I had to lace my laces under the tongue to keep the tongue from cutting my ankle)
-The stiffer insole (some people like a stiffer insole, but I buy neutral shoes for a reason - I like my feet to be able to move a little bit, while still enjoying a responsive ride)
- The shoe length (these were really long. I'm a 7.5/8; I always order 7s in Hoka because they run big, but even the 7s were really long - e.g., .5 inch empty space in the front of the toe box)
-The wider heel base (if I hadn't been wearing compression socks, my ankles would have been cut badly. As it was, the insides of my ankles were left bruised)
-The tinkering with shoes so people have to constantly readjust, and can't just put on a new pair and head out the door. Since my race, I've been in a walking cast with a possible stress fracture. If the Mach is a replacement for the Clayton, the adjustment shouldn't be extreme to the point I break my foot.
The pros:
-The Mach's responsiveness is similar to the Clayton (not a lot of energy lost)
-Hoka fixed the big toe blister issue a lot of people (myself included) had with the Claytons
Recommendations:
- Get rid of the sharp tongue!
- Bring back the Clayton length/width
- Bring back the softer Clayton insole, but keep the Mach's updated insole shape

I bought these to kick off marathon training. After only 2 months and 228 miles there is absolutely no tread left on the bottom of my shoes between the toe to mid sole strike. I asked my coaches and the retailer who fitted me for the shoes; no one seems to be able to figure out what caused the tread to wear out so early. I only wear these when running, (so I'm not adding extra mileage by walking around in them casually). I'm very disappointed because I really liked the feel and fit on these shoes at first.

I wear a size 8 in the cliftons so I bought a size 8 in the Mach and they're way too big. Of course my husband throws out the box so I can't return them... I also don't like the tongue on the shoe. It rubs against my skin. Overall I am not pleased and now I'm stuck with them.

I loved the first version of this shoe. I ran in the Bondi for years but tried the Mach because it was lighter and I felt like trying a more responsive shoe. It delivered in every way and I bought a few pairs and ran several marathons with no issues. When I saw the Mach 2 had come out I bought a pair. I didn't even make it out the door to run. The tongue is so uncomfortable and stiff and jabs me right in the front of the ankle. Forget low socks - it would be a chafing nightmare. Please change the tongue back to the soft version of the Mach 1. This is a deal breaker.

I really wanted to like this product but it was truly painful to run in. I think it was the sizingI usually get a women's 7 in the Clifton's but in these a size 7 almost looked a size too big.
I am sure the shoe would have been much more comfortable with a whole size down. Be careful when picking out the right size!

I should have listened to the other reviewer! I ordered a size 7.5 which is what I wore in the Mach. The 7.5 in the Mach 2 was huge! The tongue also feels weird, as mentioned in the other review. I haven't run in them because they are too big. I'm going to order a size 7 and see how that goes. In many other running shoes I am a size 8. I wish Hoka would get it's sizing consistent.

I have had several pairs of Hokas before and have loved all of them. I have had many pairs of Clifton's and Hupanas and loved them. I decided to get a pair of the Mach's to try them out and unfortunately I was severely disappointed. These shoes were very uncomfortable and made lacing up for practice not an enjoyable experience, my feet would hurt walking in them and during my runs. It would feel like my feet would slide around in them even though it was the same size I would wear for any other Hoka shoe. I really wanted to like these shoes because the design was so nice and I wanted to give them a shot but they were just very painful. I love Hoka but I should have returned these before I wore them on my run because after a few runs they already looked extremely worn out and the laces were frayed. Just doesn't seem like these shoes hold up very well and the design was painful for my feet.
