This is my second pair of GT 2000-7. Good fit overall and cushioned for an Asics but outsole life is poor. First pair I owned only lasted 6 months with what I would call moderate use. Generally speaking, I've found that Asics shoes across the board have very short outsole life vs other manufacturers.

Works perfectly for me and I pronate slightly. I've had multiple pairs of every iteration of the 2000 series. My only complaint with the 7-series would be that the sole on these need to be more robust - I've put 242 miles on these so far and tread under the ball of both feet has worn away already, the same thing happened with other pairs as well.

Room for improvement, I have flat feet and had thought I had found the solution to my problems. After a couple days of painfully breaking them in, they are ok at best.

The fit of the GT 2000 7 is very good--quite similar to previous versions of the GT--however, the 2000 7 is significantly less comfortable than any previous version I've used (I skipped the 2000 6 due to reports of shoddy construction but have used at least 10 versions of the GT over the past 15 years). The discomfort of the 2000 7 stems from the extreme lack of flexibility in this version. I haven't used a shoe this stiff since the Saucony shoes I used in the 90's.
The GT has always been a (premium-priced) shoe for actual runners. The 2000 6 and 7 bespeak distraction or frivolity on the part of ASICS regarding its core market for this shoe.
I'd also recommend:
I have not used another brand in more than 15 years.

I really wanted to like these shoes. Oddly the insoles were not soft enough or consistent enough; they did not distribute the weight well and made my heel hurt. Sadly, they had to go back.

My GT-2000 5's are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. While the GT-2000 7's are alright, they don't compare with the previous model. The foot bed is harder and doesn't hug my foot. I wish they would go back to the old construction.

U have worn this model previously....have to say I'm disappointed. Look is great...but the feel is different. Its like the gel is gone...nowhere near the cushion I've experienced before.....

Despite ordering the wide size 11, the new Gt-2000's are still narrower at the toe tip than my old size 11 regular-width shoes. There is not as much cushioning at all. They have gotten narrower, smaller in the toe-box and less comfortable than they used to make them.. They look good, though.

The Asics GT-2000 7 fit well, good cushioning for both the ball of the foot & the heel, adequate toe room & nice heel to toe drop. Having put thousands of miles on over a dozen pair of Asics there is one thing that annoyed me about this pair of Asics GT-2000 7. The shoe laces are too short! I always tie a double. Can't chance the shoelaces coming untied particularly in a race. Can't tie a double knot with these Asics GT-2000 7. Tough to even tie a good single knot. What was Asics thinking? Why skimp on such an inexpensive item as shoelaces. Can't give an overall rating any higher than 3 stars when a corporation like Asics messes up a good pair of sneakers with inadequate laces.

This is the second pair I have bought, I really like them. The first pair I got it from a local store, I tried many brands and asics was the best for me. These ones I got from web site and I am happy with them as well. The only drawback is that I feel them too tight on the toe, and causing pain ocasionally but it's not that bad. They are confortable overall

The M Width was wider than past GT 2000 shoes that I have bought causing a feeling of a lose toe area. The sole / Toe area of the shoe was not comfortable and felt hard to walk on earning one star. The heel was soft and comfortable. Returned the shoes.

The shoes were a gift for my boyfriend. He though ther were comfortable for his walk/jogging however they started to separate at the sole of the shoe. He has only had these shoes for less then 3 weeks and so for that it was pretty bad. Maybe get a better pair of shoes that won't start tearing so quick.

Worst overpronation shoe I've ever gotten from asics. Been using asics for 14 years as they were recommended by my doc. I have flat feet and these have no arch support. I'm keeping them because I need new shoes for functions but they hurt my feet so bad I went back to a pair I've had for 6 years because they have better arch support even after 6 years.
Fyi, the other pair is gel foundation 8.
They are the best but can't get them anymore.

Bought these shoes after my previous pair of GT-2000 6's were worn out. Even after putting on thirty miles with these shoes (with default insoles as well as my preferred Superfeet insoles) as well as wearing them daily, I'm still getting some of the worst blisters I've ever had on my heel and sole. Never had an issue with Asics GT-2000 series shoes before, however this iteration does not fit as well as previous versions nor break as easily.
2/5 - despite the blisters, it's still a good quality shoe and others may not have the issues I had. However, if you've enjoyed previous versions of this shoe, I would recommend playing it safe and skipping the GT-2000 7. Not worth the pain.

The shoes are great, I have been running in asics for over 20 years. One suggestion the inside heel needs to be more U shaped than V shaped, my shoes in about the 3rd month the material develops a hole and I cover it with duck tape. i run in my shoes for about 4-5 months or until I feel it in my lower back, knees and ankles. The shoe looks very good, but I felt unsupported in the arch when running compared to other shoes. Overall I guess it's an ok shoe for casual wear but for running would not recommend it.

I got these shoes for walking. The are comfortable enough but durability is a BIG problem. I have only 355 miles on them and the soles are already wearing through. Not at all worth the cost.

This shoe showed up in searches for overpronation support but it felt like a simple, cheap running shoe on my foot. I didn't wear it any further than trying it on and returning, so I can't critique it any further.

I'm a big fan of past models of the GT 2000, but after just six months the sole is peeling away from the toe on my right shoe. Not acceptable durability, a waste of money.

On the very first distance walk I realized the material pushed agressively into my outter ankle bone and hasn't worn in. The heel cup has a seem that makes an inverted ledge at the top of my heel.
The top of the back of the shoe is too tall and angles inward poking at my achilles.
Used the heel-lock lacing to mitigate rubbing by the heel, but it still bites into my foot uncomfortably.
Ordering a pair of GEL-Ventures because the locally available models aren't what I'm looking for in a running shoe.
