I sadly have to add my voice to the "What happened to Asics?" group. I am a long time fan of Asics and have had many different styles. I was a solid 9.5 regular every time for years. And then the trouble started a couple of years ago with fit. They became narrow , short and the toe box is very tight. Last year is the last time I will buy GT-2000 as they were the most uncomfortable Asics I have ever owned. Looking for a new brand. I hope Asics will listen to their customers and bring back the original fit.

These ASICS GT-2000 7 running shoes solved my problem with foot and ankle pain. Several years ago I was fitted for running shoes by a specialist here in town who recommended ASICS GT 2000 shoes for my feet. I ran in them for a couple of years and had absolutely no problems with my feet. Then, I stopped running and drifted to other shoes such as Hokas and Brooks. I liked them both and didn't think it made any difference -- I wasn't having any problems and I liked the padding of the Hokas. I recently went on a walking vacation and wore my Brooks Addiction 13 for the three week trip. We walked about 10-12 miles per day. About two weeks in, I started to get ankle and achilles tendon pain. The shoes didn't hurt, just my ankles. When we returned from the trip, I started a new workout regimen that included running again. My ankles were very painful and it was difficult to run. The pain did not get better and got worse from the continued over use. I switched back to ASICS GT 2000 and bought the new version 7. (this is my second pair). The pain was better immediately and subsided entirely after about three weeks of wearing the ASICS. These shoes have a very supportive heel cup and it is designed for over pronators. The support these shoes gave me has helped relieve the ankle pain and I can now run again. Everyone's feet are different but these worked for me. In terms of sizing -- I wear a 9 in a lot of shoes, a 9.5 in ASICS, 9 in Hokas and 10 in Brooks Addiction 13. I ordered these in a 9.5 and they are perfect for me.

I was very happy to get these shoes and have them feel so good. I've been using asics for years but i spent a lot of time reading everyone's reviews of how asics have gotten worse and so i took so long trying to decide what to get. a lot of people said the newer versions of asics were not great but i finally took the plunge and tried these GT-2000s. I run about 3 miles a day, a few times a week so not intense runner but a steady one. so far (just got them and did run on them) they feel great, great support and cushion. so i'm giving them a thumbs up for anyone on the fence like i was.

Horribly uncomfortable..No padding..Poor quality material..Run Too Small n Narrow..Very disappointed in Asics!!! NEVER will buy again..yet on the Up side..Soles wear way better than Brooks which i bought for many years!! What a Shame!!! Dont waste your money!!!

I love this shoe. It has cushioning for high impact classes at the gym. Also, this shoe gives good support for Overpronators. My last ASICS was a size 7 1/2 but this shoe fit better in size 7. I purchased two pairs as it is difficult to find a shoe that is this comfortable. Generous toe space and nonslip heel support.

I have plantar fasciitis and do not need to wear the inserts I had to with other shoes. These are so comfortable!

Very pleasantly surprised. I have hard foot to fit. Wide toe box, narrow heel and moderate arches. These were comfortable from the moment I put them on.

I am Norma new balance girl. But my husband loves ASICS and told me I should give them a try. I love them. The fit was good , I can wear them all day and my feet don’t hurt. Cute colors. So glad I gave the. A chance , definitely will be getting an additional pair!

This is a great stability shoe! I over-pronate and do a lot of conditioning workouts where I need to run, jump and change direction quickly. This is the perfect shoe for these workouts. Mizuna was the only brand that provided enough stability but this ASICS GT has been exceptional.

The narrow fits like a true narrow! The shoe molds to your food without being snug. Very supportive, cushioned, stabile. This is by far the best shoe I have found for my narrow foot. I only wish it came in other colors for narrow width. Maddening that all shoe makers only give you one choice of color if you want narrow width.

Felt at least a half size smaller than marked.

I read previous reviews and ordered one half size up as I usually do with sneakers. They fit perfect!!! So hard to find narrow sneakers, the narrow width is perfect!! Will be ordering a second pair soon.

This is an especially good shoe for a narrow heel. Been wearing the GT shoe for 15 years and love them!

Not the best looking, but they provide the arch support I need--knees no longer hurt-- and they fit well. Will be buying a secondary pair.

FINALLY, a pair of sneakers that fit me. I have narrow feet with a very narrow heel and constantly experience heel slippage. I even walk out of other "narrow" shoes. I can walk uphill without slippage in these. Only downside is there was only color left, I bought a second pair immediately. Really hope these come back in stock in the other colors. Loving this shoe.

Great shoes! So excited they have a 12.5 so I don't have to buy men's.

I've reviewed this shoe previously. I purchased another pair to have in my inventory since Asics has stopped making Narrow sneakers (I got an email confirming this from the company). This is devastating to someone who wears 11.5 N. There are scant few shoe companies making narrows -- New Balance's toe box is too roomy, and Brooks soles are unforgiving. I also tried Saucony; the fit was not right. Sigh.

Wanted to want these so badly. Reviews seemed awesome. But the sides rubbed on my feet in a weird place. They also had a weird overall fit and not as cushiony as I thought they’d be. Wear a 9, ordered 9.5. Seems like right size but didn’t seem ok. I bought Hoka One Ones instead.

For some reason this pair of Asics feel stiff and there is not enough arch support. I have always worn Asics but this pair makes me toes tingle. I have tried adjusting the laces and and my feet still ache after a short run/walk.

Terrible! So uncomfortable . I wore these for Interval sprints on treadmill and my feet were in so much pain after 5 minutes I couldn’t continue. I have owned other gt 2000 versions that were much better than this model. Absolutely awful not enough support, looking for a new show immediately . Only good thing about this shoe is that I liked the black and white as it matched my outfit well.

I’m on my third pair of these shoes and they are my favorite for running as an overpronator. They have a roomy toe box but are secure in the heel so my feet don’t slip out. I buy a half size up to accommodate any foot swelling while running. I can tell these do a great job because I have zero aches and pains in my lower legs or knees until it’s time to replace them, which has needed to happen around 250 miles.

I haven’t had shoes fit this well in years!

I am an overpronator, and my ankle had really started hurting every time I went walking. I realized my athletic shoes were old and remembered that I needed arch support to prevent the overpronation. The first day I used these new shoes, I could tell an incredible difference in my ankle and within less than a week, the pain was gone. I had been dealing with it for well over a month before that. I always get this line of ASICS and they work the best for me to prevent the overpronation. Great arch support without feeling like the arches are too high.
