A nice boot, but alas, I had to return them due to the too-wide circumference of the boot shaft. They are too baggy for my legs. For reference, my calves measure 13 inches around at the widest point. My search for narrow-shaft boots continues.

I was so disappointed in these boots. I loved the style, and they were very comfortable! The color I bought was not as rich tan as in the photos but the real problem was the width of the calf. I don't know what other reviewers were talking about when they said these boots aren't for people with wide calves. These boots are MOST DEFINITELY for people with wide calves. I'm 5'11 and 135 (fairly lean) but these were even too wide for my boyfriend (I begged him to try them on to see if it was just me with tiny calves). He's my height but about 45 pounds heavier and pretty athletic. In addition, like another reviewer said they are baggy around the front of the ankle. When I bent my foot, the whole boot bent in half and popped out the sides (see pictures). You could attribute this to the fact that they were stored folded in half like all boots, but even accounting for their folded shape, these boots were way, way too big in the calf and the ankle. Returning.

These boots are beautiful and seemed comfortable right out of the box. But, I am returning them because: The top of the shaft fits well but the calf part is too big and looks weird, and bulgey, with my narrower calf. It just fits obviously badly there.

Love this boot, its leather looks rich and is so soft...the only problem is the fit. I am always and 8.5 M...have never needed a wide width. I ordered that size first, way too narrow and even felt a half size smaller overall, couldn't begin to pull the shaft up over my calve. I reordered it in an 8.5 Wide and a 9 Wide...The 9 Wide fit great in the foot area and the shaft/calve area but the ankle area bunched up almost like a slouch boot. So disappointed that i must return. Sam Edelman needs to send whomever "sized" this style back to fashion school. Beautiful boot with great quality otherwise.

The fit of these boots is perfect for me. After some of the negative comments I ordered them with a little trepidation, but I really liked the look of them, so I went ahead. They came in 2 days, very quickly! I wear either a 7 1/2 or 8. Because of the comments I went with 8. The fit of them around my calf is perfect as well. I am not a “stick” person, my calves are 131/2” and boots are often way too wide at the top. These fit with enough room for jeans. The leather of the boot is very soft, so they’re very comfortable and have a really nice look. I ordered black and the little rivets are a muted silver tone. They are a pretty perfect riding style boot.

Beautiful stylish supple leather, but because they were pull on, I couldn't get them over my shapely ham hocks.

This boot is most definitely for skinny calves. I have chicken legs and they fit great! I actually bought both the size 7 and size 7.5 in the regular width after reading reviews to see which fit best. As many have said, the ankle is a bit big so I liked the ankle on the 7 better but the foot bed is true to size at 7.5 so I stuck with that. Also as others have said, the show runs a bit narrow and hat worked for me since I have a slightly narrow foot the 7.5 was true-to-size but the 7 was too tight. I’ve been wearing these boots daily now for over a month and I really love them! They’re comfortable and despite a little wrinkle near the ankle they do not sag or slouch down my leg. I actually love the look and have received many compliments. The leather is soft and high quality. Photos show them worn with leggings.

Love, love, loved these but they came up too high on my leg. I’m pretty short- 5’2”- so taller gals might fare better.

A true 10 wide is a perfect fit for me. These were still too tight in the width and toe room area.

These are great boots! Very cute and fit fine. I did not find the calf to be too big. I weigh 120 lbs and they fit me just fine. Only complaint is that I didn’t find them to be very warm. If it’s cold I might have to go with a heavier sock. Beautiful color and very comfy!

Boots fit great but calf was a bit large. I love them so I’m keeping them.

I love this boot. Fit is perfect all around; quality is excellent. I would buy this item again. Very fashionable look.

I'm 6'2", 58 years old, and wear a 13N. The narrow size wasn't available, so I ordered medium. Wearing socks and putting an insert in the boots, they will be fine. I've wanted boots for decades but thought I was too old. Plus, it's hard to find them in 13. I keep seeing other women my age wearing boots, and I realized I'm not getting any younger, so I went for it, and I'm thrilled to have a pair of boots! Now I just need some cold weather here in south Florida so that I can wear them!

Super cute! Great style, wonderful color (burgundy), great feeling leather. Just a little stiff in the foot, but they were already softening after wearing them around the house for just a few minutes. Very pleased!

I ordered this boot specifically because it was described as having a 14.5" circumference for a size 8.5, which is what I wear. I've struggled to find boots that have a small enough circumference for my calves. I was excited that these seemed to be exactly what I needed, but unfortunately when I received them the opening was still too large. I measured the circumference, and it was 16" in the 8.5. Sadly, I had to return them. I guess I'll give up for now on finding a riding boot that has a small enough circumference for my legs. Beautiful boot otherwise!

Love these boots!! Runs bit narrower true to ither Sam Edelman shoes. Can't wait to wear them.

These boots were very nice, unfortunately they did not fit over my wide calf. The description said they were only 14 inches in circumference but after having tried the wide calf style and finding them to be way too big in the calf, I thought I would give these a try. I wear an 11 and there and despite the description saying that they are the same size in the calf for all sizes, I am finding them to be larger in my size. I wish these would have worked!

They really do look fantastic on!!! The leather is so soft! The tops of the shafts pull up (the zipper is only at the ankle), and they are snug when over skinny pants. The do have a little bit of arch support, but that option wasn't offered ;-) Love these!

This boot is super cute. Can’t wait to wear them!!! The shaft is narrow so if you have wider calves I would not suggest this boot.

I'm usually a Sam Edelman fan but these did nothing for me. They fit funny, looked awkward and slouched at the ankles. I ordered a wide for reference but am certain that the regular would have been too slim in the leg even though I have normal-sized calves.

I loved the leather on this boot -- so soft and supple, but it is much too wide for my ankle and calf (13 1/2"). The sole feels hard and uncomfortable also, so they are going back.

I like this casual boot. It does run at least a half size small. I am an 8 and just ordered an 8.5. I hope that is enough because it was quite snug. (I wear socks with my boots) Shaft leather feels thin so it will not stand up like a rigid riding boot. Overall this is a great casual boot, I love the reddish color I chose and like the brad detailing on the outside shaft.
