Nice, well made shoe, however, something in the inner construction of the left shoe, a section of leather, or the stitching, rubbed constantly against my bunion, and was very painful. The support was good, and I had no problem with my right foot, but even with the wide toe box, it was too painful on my left foot to wear for any length of time. I've been buying New Balance sneakers for years, but a different number, which they apparently don't make anymore. Hopefully, I can find success with a different number that feels good on both feet, as New Balance is a good shoe.

Really quite bulky and ugly. And not very comfortable given all the thick padding and sole.

I liked the construction...looked a bit clunky, but i fully expected them to be super comfy when wearing. that was not the case. Both shoes had a strange feel to the outside portion of the sole...felt like extra matter was in the sole that caused my feet to 'lean outwards.' I wanted to like the shoe but just couldn't get to that point. So i returned them.

These were my first pair of new balances and I'm pretty disappointed with them. After just a few weeks of wear the sole started coming away from the main body of the shoe in one place. Now after a few months it has come away on both shoes in multiple places. For the price I expected a better made shoe. Clearly the glue / sealant being used is not good.

Yes, it is a sturdy shoe, but it feels heavy and I hope it becomes more flexible as I wear them. Not what I was expecting.

Love the sneakers but the customer service and emails are awful. I've received three emails in the past 3 months for 20% off my purchase but code never works. I called and per new balance request I purchased the sneakers and called back after delivery for my 20% refund. What a headache to try to get them to refund my 20%. Again good sneakers awful service.

I tried these because the 409 is no longer made. I bought a wide width, but they were tight in the toe box. Had to send them back.

I've worn New Balance 609s for many years and they were the most comfortable shoes since I have foot problems. The quality of the new 608s is inferior. I noticed immediately when I picked up the box, it was so light it felt empty? I'm very disappointed because I could get online and order the 609s knowing they would fit and be comfortable from the beginning.

The inside seams in the toe are protruding and rubbing my toes, making it uncomfortable to walk. This is not up to the quality of New Balance I had been buying. I wore them for several days, just to see if it was the stiffness of the new shoe. My toes said no-way. Bill

I'm glad I ordered 2 different shoes. The current 608 is stiffer and narrower enough to be uncomfortable. The 624 in the exact same size was a perfect fit.

This is not as comfortable as the brown/tan version that I always bought. I guess I'll have to search for another brand of comfortable shoes. So long New Balance it was nice to know you for the past 12 years.

The last time we ordered shoes they were made in America. Now they are made overseas. They shoes are not the same quality and they squeak every time you take a step

I live in these sneakers. I like the comfort of the cut-a-way sole of the 608 of yesterday. The new 608's have a flat sole that does not walk the same, bend the same or seemingly have as much lateral support. I have tried the 624's that have the sole of the old 608's but they are a different fit altogether with a longer toe box that trips me up.

Very cheap feel to them, foot went right to the ground and felt like I was walking on concrete. Pass.

I bought the shoes to play pickleball with because I love my other New Balance shoes. But they hurt my feet and my feet still hurt 24 hrs later. Don't understand why they hurt but maybe I need to try a pair on in store before I buy my next pair.

I was hoping to find a pair of shoes it would be comfortable to do walking in. I find that the right shoe is slightly smaller than the left. My other new balance shoes have never had this problem. I doubt they would buy another pair of shoes online again. Very disappointed.

I have been wearing 608 wide for 6 months ordered these these are huge. Tied of having my daughter having to send them back and wait 1 week for another pair. The reps Miss lead me in the size not fair. What is going on with the quality. I think these should re send me a pair of regular 6.5 standard that are not defective

Wish these shoes were easy to wear right out of the box. They are not - you have to break them in. Colors are ugly.

This shoe is the first time I've ever had to do a return with Zappos, and I've been a customer for a while. It's not Zappos fault, it's New Balances. I got the shoes (Size 13 - EE) and slid my foot in fairly easily, but the first thing I noticed was the lack of cushion right at the ball of the toes. It felt like I was slightly pushing down on rock (and this was while sitting down). I immediately pulled them off and pressed in the area with fingers and there was next to no give in the cushion. I considered that maybe these need to be broken in, but I've never heard of that for the foam before. I placed them back on and as I was tying the laces I noticed that the toe box felt about a quarter inch too narrow to the point where the box was pressing against the the ball of the small toe (from the outside). I chose to ignore it and start walking around in them and the cushion felt even worse. While walking in my home with them I quickly became aware of abrasiveness of the back of the shoe against the ankle (I did have socks on). I know for me this is usually a problem with new shoes and that's the thing I have to get used to for about a week before longer wear, but this was the worst I had ever felt before and thought I was going to have blister issues after just five or ten minutes, so I immediately removed them after wearing them for 1 1/2 minutes instead. I wear primarily certain brands, of which New Balance is one, so I'm really surprised at the feel of this shoe. I am going for a Skechers brand shoe instead of this one, and hope that someone else who buys these will be much more pleased (they will at least be clean).
I'd also recommend:
Skechers

After little use and no abuse, the shoes are starting to fall apart. This was unexpected. The sole of one of the shoes is beginning to separate at the toe.
