Customer Reviews New Balance 608v5

I previously had a pair of 608v4s which I loved (very comfortable). However I am very disappointed with v5 because the innersoles are not smooth. They have a textured pattern from heel to toe which you can feel when you walk. What were they thinking? Did anyone at NB actually try these on and walk around? I replaced the innersoles with commercial ones which also offer arch support, now very comfortable.

NB has stopped making large sizes for athletes more and more as the years pass & now its reaching down to 600 models that arent made w any bonuses and cheap looking . Its ridiculous that it's so hard to find a 17 or 18 EE shoe with quality

This shoe fits true to size in terms of size and width, but it is a very hard bottom. After wearing these shoes for long periods of time cause pain on the bottom of foot and ankles as well. Within about 8mo, the sole of the shoe started to detach from the upper of the shoe so did not have the durability I would expect from New Balance. I've bought a lot of shoes from New Balance and have noticed a steady decline is quality and comfort.

I have never tried on a pair of shoes that make my foot feel so uncomfortable, especially when walking. The shoes make my foot go through excess overpronation. Love the appearance of these shoes, but not the feel during walking. Was surprised that New Balance shoes were made this way. I have bought New Balance shoes exclusively over past 25 years, but these shoes do not meet my expectations.

The toe box was too pointed fit a shoe that was 6E in width

I haved to go along with others in reviewing this shoe, I have really wide feet and the 608 was always a go to shoe. Changing the material isn't that big a deal but changing the design of the shoe is. Yeah less cushion but the biggest change is shape. The earlier design had a more rounded toe a large toe box. This version is more pointed, smaller toe box and now my big toe rubs against the side of the shoe and irritates the nail, painful. So now have to find another shoe design with a bigger toe box. won't be buying any more of these

I purchased a 6E shoe only to find it too tight in the toe. Need to find 8E. New Balance sneakers are just damn dull....the opposite of stylish.

Good shoe, too tight at toes.

Clunky, hard and really not what I was expecting for a walking shoe. Zero cushioning. About all I can say is the white is very white.

The sole was squeaky when walking in them on tile floor - awful noise!

New Balance is TOO NARROW! Certainly not a 4E

Have bought these same style shoes for years and they always fit but not this pair, much smaller than the size indicates.

It was way too small, had a nice look, wish they fit.

The synthetic is very stiff and uncomfortable, my husband can not wear these. We will be looking for a lighter weight shoe instead.

Size was not accurate. For a mens size 12 length was short and 6e width was not wide enough. Not truly extra extra wide sneakers

the 9 1/2's that used to fit , they go back. 1/2 size too small. Big Toe banging up against the front of the shoe. The shoe maker down the street says I'm an 8 1/2; -When I put them on, Zappos says I'm a ten. - So I sent the 9 1/2's ( Zappos size) back & order tens. How it is.

Purchased these for my husband to replace the discontinued 624, which he wore faithfully for many, many years. My husband wears a 14EE, which is not an easy size to obtain. The 608V5 is not a good replacement, as it runs way too small. A better alternative seems to be the 623V3, but he has not worn them yet. Needless to say we are very disappointed that New Balance discontinued the 624 .

They hurt so much that I have to buy other shoes now. Too narrow, too short. Maybe they're trying to save money...

I have been wearing New Balance footwear for 30 years and these are the first pair where the sole has detached from the shoe. It's time for me to try another brand.

I wear this shoe with the same size and style. No support at all, way tooooo wide...probably mislabeled...

It did not work well with my orthotics.
