I had the 628 and this one is much more comfortable. I have only had it for two weeks, if it stands the time test I will continue to purchase for work.

Like I stated in the headlines, I really like New Balance shoes, however I do notice there quality has decreased over the past few years. The shoes don't last near as long as they use too. That being said they do fit great and look good.

I had purchased a similar shoe about 10 yrs. ago. Was great, wore very well, looked "sharp" with long pants unlike "tennis shoes". They were nice and "cushy" when I walked. The "cushiness" was gone after 10 yrs. though the leather shoe still looked "new". That model is no longer but this one was the closest to those. I think the other shoe's toe box was more rounded - these seem a bit more "pointed". The other shoe had more of a "protective" strip around the toe box - these have a much smaller area protecting the leather toe box. Also, I think the sole of my 1st pair had more "cushion, spring" but these seem to be of a stiffer material, not so much "cushion, spring".

Obviously it is VERY difficult to find WIDE shoes of any kind in the stores. I like to try them on obviously before buying, but since I know the quality and I know what my foot are doing these days I decided to chance the purchase without trying them first. NB have offered great shoes since I have some health issues going on and they are exactly what I've been searching for.

I'm disappointed . Tthe sneakers are a 10 1/2 D--my usual size, and the same size as my last pair of New Balance sneakers. But this pair is really cut too wide. In order for them to fit I have to wear 2 pairs of sox. Yes, the secondary pair is very thin --very light, black business sox. But the fact is my white cotton gym sox are not thick enough for me to wear this particular par of sneakers comfortably--and in the past they always have been. I love New Balance and I love Ll:Bean, but this pair really doesnt quite make the grade. My feet havent shrunk, I'm sure--all my other shows fit the same as they always do..

Nice, comfortable shoe. I get it in black so that I can get away with wearing the comfort of a sneaker in all but the most formal situations.

What have you done to these shoes! I have worn 608s exclusively for a few years, but these seem much stiffer and actually are uncomfortable. It looks like you have removed the extra cushioning under the insole. Please put it back. These used to be great shoes!

Only problems was length and type of shoe laces.Otherwise great

So, this shoe is replacement for a 608 that is probably a version 1, that I put a ton of miles on. The new version fits great and works for both the gym and walking and light hiking. Glad I got them.

When I tried on the shoes, the shoe on my right foot seemed to draw my foot inwards like it was making my foot pronate. I had to return the shoes. I'm not sure if it was just that pair of shoes or the model itself. I have had many other NB shoes and did not happen.

I have been a fan of the white 608 for years. Thought I would try the black color to see if it hid dirt better. It does.

I have neuropathy in my feet, so finding the right shoes is a challenge. These work really well for me--comfortable yet sturdy, and attractive too!

The shoes fit perfectly and I wear them as casual everyday shoes.

Good basketball official shoe. EEEE size keeps toes from rubbing against the shoe, keeping the fit comfortable.

the shoe runs lager then others it was to wide for me

My only suggestion is make the finger tab on the heel a little longer. I have small fingers and even I can't get a good grip, nor can I fit my finger in the loop to pull the shoe on.

This is my choice for everyday usage. Great product!
